Chapter 458 Added to the To-Do List
Based on what Fina divulged, their town was a gathering of half-bloods. There are those with succubus blood, incubus, and even half-devils.
Still, every one of them was treated as tamers by the system instead of monsters since they had higher human blood percentages in their bodies.
And the enemies that they were talking about were, to my surprise, those of the church.
"Hmmm..."
After coming into this world, this is the first time I heard of a "church" other than Goddess Blanc's home base. They were, apparently, going around and hunting those "impure" beings around and "purifying" them while seeing who could hunt the most. In short, they're hunting Fina and the others for sport.
My blood boiled after hearing up to this point, but I still tried to listen to Fina's story calmly.
"But then, why did they not kill everyone at once but instead seal them...?"
Such a doubt popped into my head, so I quickly asked. Fina frowned, shaking her head sideways.
"It's not the church's doing that sealed everyone, but our Village Leader Ansael, in hopes of saving everyone. She's highly specialized in sealing skills, earning her the honorary title of Goddess of Seals for thousands of years, apparently."
"A thousand?!"
That "Village Leader" or something was definitely at God-level to live that long!
"Her seal should last at least 666 years, but the church is working nonstop to undo the seal and kill everyone completely. Ansael predicted this to happen, thus sending Chief Julia and me to the outside world to look for someone strong and worthy of our trust."
"And you selected me for that..."
Now I finally understand their circumstances.
They were met with powerful enemies, and unable to push them back, they decided to buy time and wait for backup. It was a smart way of doing things, but it took too much time. This story was already ten years ago, after all!
Their Village Chief, Ansael, was approximately god-level. And such a being was unable to defeat their pursuers. Meaning, this "church" was quite powerful, but not powerful enough to counter her seal.
"By the way, is this Ansael or something part succubus too?"
This is an important question, especially if I am going to save them. After all, just ending it with a thank-you is a little too bland. Fina smiled awkwardly, as if reading what was on my mind, and shook her head.
"She doesn't have succubus blood, but instead has inherited a dark elf's blessing. And just to put it into perspective, Dark Elves are known to have voluptuous figures."
Fina traced her figure with her hands as she spoke. No, she traced it with a little bit extra, as if to say this Village Chief of hers was at least curvier than her!
My motivation shot up instantly, but I quickly calmed myself down. Right now, we're on a one-week break. Today's just the first day, so we still have a lot of time left. Still, I should give my promise to Fina, at least.
"Alright. As soon as we finish this week-long training, we'll go and save them!"
Fina's expression turned into a mix of relief and gratitude, with tears of joy about to drip down the corner of her eyes. Then, in one motion, she leaned forward and practically leaped, coming to embrace me before Judy and Yorm could stop her.
They wanted to pull her back, but seeing Fina's expression, they lowered their hands and backed away begrudgingly. Instinctively, they knew that butting in at that moment would make Fina angry at them. Thus, the two of them held back but didn't miss the chance to glare in my direction.
Well, getting glared at to enjoy this moment was a cheap price to pay.
After that, it was my turn to open up about my problems or worries, but currently, only one thing is bothering me.
"... I'm still clueless about how to reach God Level. What if I never break through and get stuck in the 9th stage forever?"
From using [Lifeblood] countless times, I know that my remaining years are dwindling. I wouldn't be surprised if there were only a couple dozen years left for me. As such, I'm really counting on the extended lifespan to reach God-level. After all, a God Tamer lives for at least a thousand years.
I looked at the girls around me. Yep, I definitely don't want to die early. I want to spend hundreds of years with everyone!
After just one round for each of us, the open forum was declared over. Finally, we can start with the main training part.
For this, Fina, Judy, and Yorm grouped up and started reviewing their skills through light sparring with each other. Fatima was meditating, trying to increase her level even now using a God-level Essence Crystal.
After all, at the end of the battle with the God-level Demons, our pockets were basically overflowing with various levels of Essence Crystals!
The four of them were doing their own training, so I didn't have much to do in terms of helping them train.
Instead, I went to the twenty succubus tamers, who were trying to practice their skill usage. They were diligent from what I could see, but as expected, their energy usage was a mess.
"Don't do it like that; do it like this..."
I helped them by teaching each of them a method of energy usage to make it more efficient and faster. Of course, I had to touch their bodies here and there while teaching them, but that's par for the course.
The girls were seemingly aware of what I was doing, but they didn't seem to be repulsed by what I was doing, so I just continued "teaching" them.
The entire afternoon passed by in the blink of an eye, and night came. Even in Ember's God Kingdom, the day-night cycle exists.
Of course, she did this to not lose track of date and time while inside here, but if she needed to, she could make the entire place have an endless day.
Since the succubus girls were busy with training with me, dinner was yet to be prepared. As such, my next task was to cook enough food for the gluttonous girls!
