448 Transient Peace
I, for some reason, started a passionate sales pitch about the monitors and the other technological appliances that Ember was slowly trying to increase in numbers. For example, the smartphone.
That one was already out of the prototype stage after she completed the upgraded computer. After all, she simply had to modify the program a little to make it fit a touch panel instead of a keyboard and mouse, and voila, it's done!
Of course, there are only two of those currently manufactured. Both are kept by Ember herself, as she was still trying to improve them while making a mass-production pipeline for them.
When I was almost over with my long sales talk, the battle at the southeast border was nearing its end. Igni was standing still on a tall hill, watching as the rest of the monsters and tamers hunted down the scattered, remaining demons carefully.
Apparently, the battles on the other sides also started to wrap up. The god-level demons that attacked us were all starting to disperse, as if scared of continuing to fight.
"... With this, it's safe to say that the disaster has been averted."
Zeshion mused as he stood up, walking away.
He was already injured, after all, so it was time for him to go and rest. Well, as soon as the halo goes on cooldown, he should be able to completely recover either way.
Vermeil, too, was finally out of danger. Although the blackened skin's corrosion was stopped, it wasn't completely removed, however. Just like with Zeshion, it's not anything that the System's Heavenly Halo couldn't handle.
To continue our talk and to allow Goddess Blanc to focus on healing Vermeil, we returned to the Seimei Territory for now. Of course, Queen Thalia and Princess Hazel tagged along too.

Fina noticed us and quickly waved her hands, prompting the rest to turn toward the door and greet everyone.
"Thankfully, you're safe!"
Fatima smiled after she scanned my and Ember's bodies with a glance. Well, we were the only ones left behind with one of the Void Beasts; after all, it was normal for her to get worried.
Anyway, before all that, it's lunchtime!
Since they were here too, both Queen Thalia and Princess Hazel also joined in on the feast. After a while, even Igni came back. When I praised her good work, her eyes glowed with joy, literally. So her eyes could light up? Now that's new...
While eating, everyone started to report about things they noticed while they were dispersed all over the borders. And the most concerning one was what Fatima noticed.

They were acting as the "buffer zone," after all, where most fights against the demons took place. I recalled the voices that were requesting to switch positions with other kingdoms and how I asked Yu Na to "shut them up."
"So those guys are acting up now, huh?"
I stared at the table, thinking.
Since we have the document we signed, which places them all under my jurisdiction, I could technically punish them for this. It can be classified as an insurgency and could be punishable by death under their laws. But under the new laws we made, their act of defiance could get them a decade of imprisonment at most.
No matter which path I chose, I could already see the future of many more revolts occurring here and there. I could try to rule with an iron fist, but that's too troublesome… What a headache!
"... As expected, it's still too early to unite the entire world as one."
I sighed before finally deciding what to do.
It was just the afternoon after our lunch, so I decided to return to the castle. Queen Thalia headed back to the Cleaver Kingdom, while Princess Hazel was dragged away by Ember and the girls.

"I'm planning to return the dissatisfied countries to where they came from while spreading out the placement of those that want to stay."
As soon as I finished saying that, the room went dead silent.
