After three more days, making it exactly 10 days since I started on it, I finally finished all of the documents before me. It was a grueling battle, but I managed to survive it all! Not only me, but even the injured tamers from both the Seimei and Luo families managed to recover fully by then. I didn't even need to call for Goddess Blanc, as Priestess Harumi was more than enough to heal them all.
Now, after gaining Guren's and Lady Luo's approval, I managed to get time off from today up to the day of my supposed audience with the King. I suddenly had nothing to do, so I was walking around the whole building, scanning it.
After it was constructed a couple of weeks ago, the Debauchery Hall underwent a few changes. On some floors, rooms were installed. To be exact, it was on floors above the fifth floor, whereas the rest were still wide open spaces that had little to no decorations.
I went to the sixth floor, where Ember and Fang stayed. Although there were hundreds of rooms available there after the renovation, only the two of them decided to use the sixth floor as their station.
The two of them were playing chess for some reason, making it hard for me to interrupt them. In the end, I just looked at them from afar before heading one floor up.
On the seventh floor, it was Igni who stayed, along with most of the thousands of succubus girls who volunteered to remain. Before even reaching the entrance to the floor, I could already hear their vigorous shouts. It seems like they were doing synchronized training with Igni in the lead.
After watching them practice sword swings, which was a training menu that they got from me after I taught the Seimei tamers the last time, I scratched my cheeks in embarrassment.
I mean, most of these tamers don't even use swords. Why would they practice swings? Although I doubt they would have any use for it, I still left them alone. Exercise is still exercise, after all, and it's not my job to teach them techniques that fit their fighting styles.
Floors eight and nine were filled with the rest of the succubus-turned-tamers. While on the tenth floor, Fina and her two former tamed beasts stay.
Me? I don't have a room assigned for some reason. Well, I haven't left the office for the past 10 days, so I guess it counts as my room? There's no bed, though.
"Right, I haven't spent time with those two beasts yet, have I?"
Remembering Judy and Yorm, who were both my new tamed beasts, I walked past the eighth and ninth floors before entering the top floor. There, I quickly found Fina sitting on a sofa and playing around with them.
The two little beasts were chasing each other across the floor and around Fina, painting an energetic and playful scene. Judging from the emotions that were getting passed to me through the link, they were definitely having fun right now.
"Good morning."
But after I greeted them, the two immediately stopped playing and jumped to Fina's sides. Their reaction was as if I were an assassin aiming for Fina's life, with how the two glared at me while protecting her.
"Hey, Yorm, Judy! Stop that."
Even with Fina admonishing them, they let off intimidating sounds as if telling me, "F*ck off!"
However, I just smiled after seeing that. After all, Brother Mountain has already told me a bunch of stories about the two of them. He was Fina's husband during his timeline, after all. Due to that knowledge, I know just how to entice them to like me. As a tamer, at least.
"You two, how long have you been Fina's tamed beasts?"
After I asked them about something completely out of context, they were taken aback. Since my question was harmless, they probably were thinking about whether to answer or not. But with Fina's glare at them, the two quickly folded and replied.
The spider, Judy, raised four legs, while the snake, Yorm, curved her body into a figure of six. Seeing that, I nodded my head in assent.
"So Yorm has already been tamed for six years, while Judy has been for four years? That's long."
I exaggeratedly nodded my head, this time as I muttered "I see, I see" repeatedly.
"Then, you two are JUST at the 4th stage after years of training?"
My words probably hit them deep, as the two buggers suddenly stiffened. It seems like, just as Brother Mountain told me, they're bothered by their slow growth.
I glanced at Fina a little, hinting at her to chime in. And as usual, she quickly realized my aim and played along.
"I'm really sorry, Yorm, Judy. Just because I'm not too keen on training you two, you've become weaker than your peers."
She gently patted the two while showing a wry smile. However, for some reason, I felt there were no lies in her words. Was she really sorry about not being able to train them more appropriately?
I guess being a government employee has its downsides too.
I turned to the two beasts, who were panicking and trying to comfort Fina. Then I smiled.
"On the other hand, I've only had Ember for a few months, and she's already at the fifth stage. Fang, after being with me for a few months, reached the fifth stage too. Igni, who was later to join, was now even at the seventh stage..."
The two beasts, after listening to my bragging, seemed to be slightly quivering. I'm not sure if they're angry hearing me brag about Ember and the others or if they're embarrassed for being weaker. Either way, I knew that my method of enticing them was working.
"By the way, I actually don't need weaklings in my team. With your current level of strength, unfortunately, I don't think you can be an asset."
I tried telling a little lie, but the effective range was a bit too wide. Even Fina herself seemed affected by it. After becoming a succubus, she could no longer use her previous fighting style.
