Chapter 77 Heaven's Gift

Qin Chen sat on a long bench near the sidewalk. He was somewhat curious about the content of the scrolls, so he opened one of them.

Looking at the content of the scroll, he raised an eyebrow.

"A map?" he mused.

It displayed a map-like image, featuring a forest with an 'X' marking a specific location.

From the appearance of the scroll, it was evident that it was a map. This piqued his interest, but he rolled it up again and decided to open another one.

This time, the outer part was dirty, and when he opened it, he saw nothing, just a blank piece of paper without any writing. He turned it over and found nothing.

He sighed, "Of course, these scrolls are just ordinary items. What was I expecting?" he said with a bitter smile.

He was about to roll up the paper when, all of a sudden, he noticed something from it. He unrolled it again and examined it closely.

His eyes studied it carefully, and after a few seconds, he noticed a black and white image forming a circle, resembling the Yin and Yang symbol.

The longer he looked, the clearer the image became. The Yin and Yang image suddenly shone with a golden hue, and his vision blurred.

His consciousness seemed to go somewhere else, as all he saw was total darkness.

A few seconds later, light began to appear, revealing a view of a battlefield. He stood in a vast place with blood everywhere.

A human skeleton, his size, suddenly formed next to him. He was startled; with just one look, he could tell it was his martial spirit.

The skeleton began to walk forward, just like a human. Slowly, nerves formed, then flesh and internal organs, until eventually, a perfect human was formed.

It continued to walk until long hair appeared, and he wore white cultivator robes emitting an aura of majesty.

In the next moment, the once-empty battlefield was suddenly filled with hundreds, no, thousands of people wearing armor.

The cacophony of battle resounded as thousands of troops surged forward, heading toward the lone man.

The man simply raised his hand, and a long sword adorned with dragon carvings materialized in his grasp.

As the troops closed in, he swung his sword, and the crimson blade's sweeping motion cleaved hundreds of soldiers in half instantly.

Without pause, he leaped high into the air, charging into the midst of the troops, launching a frenzied assault.

Thousands of armored soldiers were swiftly reduced to hundreds.

Qin Chen watched in disbelief. The skeleton, which was his martial spirit, had transformed into this formidable man who was now slaying thousands.

Could it be that this formidable man was his martial spirit? The thought thrilled him, and a wide grin involuntarily spread across his face.

He continued to watch the scene unfold before him: the mighty figure massacring thousands, blood staining the ground, and weapons scattered everywhere.

Each swing of the sword claimed tens or even hundreds of lives until no one remained.

The mighty figure stood amidst the aftermath of the battle, then suddenly turned, his white-glowing eyes fixed on Qin Chen.

Qin Chen, on the other hand, felt a surge of something within himself in response to that gaze. His eyes began to shine with a brilliant white light, and the battlefield scene vanished, replaced by the vast ocean of his own consciousness.

His pupils returned to their normal state, and before him, his skeletal martial spirit had undergone a transformation. Nerves wrapped around the skeletal frame.

Qin Chen stared at it in awe, a wide smile stretching across his face. He held a firm belief that the further he nurtured his martial spirit, the mightier it would grow. Could its ultimate manifestation be this formidable figure that had effortlessly vanquished thousands?

The thought ignited his spirit, and suddenly, his consciousness was forcefully pulled back into the real world, where he found himself seated on a bench by the sidewalk.

He quickly checked the scrolls, and the Yin and Yang symbols had disappeared, leaving only blank scrolls.

Nevertheless, a satisfied smile played on his lips. He was thrilled with the enhancement of his martial spirit and the knowledge it possessed, showing incredible potential.

"I must find that beggar!" he declared, clutching the three scrolls, and immediately headed to the location where he had encountered the beggar.

As the evening gradually turned into night, Qin Chen arrived at the spot but found no trace of the beggar.

"Such a pity, I wanted to express my gratitude. He must be no ordinary beggar," he mused aloud.

After a moment of silence, he retraced his steps, he just opening two of the scrolls, still one to be unveiled.

Meanwhile, Long Tian had reached his villa and proceeded directly to the second floor.

Upon opening the room's door, he was met with an unexpected sight. Li Yue'er remained unconscious, her peaceful form undisturbed. He let out a sigh, realizing she might continue to be unconscious for a while longer.

He gently picked up the jade pendant from the table, and at the same time, Shen Yulan emerged.

"Has she not awakened all day?" he inquired.

"Nope, no movement at all. There's also no Reiki emanating from her body. But I did notice that some of her hair has turned silver; that's quite strange," Shen Yulan replied.

"Really? Let me see," Long Tian said, moving closer and examining Li Yue'er's hair.

It was subtle, but he did notice that some strands of her hair had indeed turned silver.

He stroked his chin. "Do you know what this means?" he asked, looking at Shen Yulan.

Shen Yulan shook her head, admitting, "I'm not sure. Typically, hair turning white is associated with depression, but Li Yue'er's hair has a silver hue, which is rather unusual."

Long Tian nodded in acknowledgment. If even Shen Yulan was uncertain, then the only option was to patiently wait for Li Yue'er's awakening.

"Alright, I'll be heading to Beijing tonight. Are you coming along?" he proposed.

"Sure, I've been quite bored just staying here," Shen Yulan agreed.

"Okay," Long Tian nodded and then put the jade pendant back around his neck.

With that, he exited the room.

Meanwhile, in the Tianji district, within her residence, Liu Qian lay upon her bed in her room.

The entire day had been devoted to her training and cultivation, and she felt content with her progress. Her martial spirit took the form of a blue Phoenix, and since its awakening, even the slightest injuries would swiftly mend when she called upon its power.

Riing~riing

Suddenly, her phone rang.

She approached her phone, resting on the nearby table. Upon seeing the caller's identity, her expression shifted to mild annoyance - it was Ye Chen.

Throughout the day, her phone had incessantly buzzed with Ye Chen's calls. She had resorted to switching it off, yet he had even contacted her through the home phone.

Staring at her phone's screen, she hesitated over whether to answer Ye Chen's call. But declining it seemed futile; he would persist in his attempts.

She sighed and answered the call.

Ye Chen's voice soon emanated from the phone.

"Ah, you've finally picked up, Liu Qian. Why have you been rejecting my calls?" he inquired.

"Do you even need to ask?" Liu Qian retorted, her tone devoid of warmth.

"Alright, alright, I get it. Should we meet up? I happen to be in the vicinity of the Tianji district," Ye Chen suggested.

"No," Liu Qian promptly declined.

"Sigh, very well. I called you primarily to apologize. I know I acted harshly recently, and I admit my mistake. So, do you forgive me?" Ye Chen inquired.

Liu Qian sighed. Irritation still simmered within her, but she recognized that Ye Chen was her boyfriend.

Recalling the time when she had just entered high school, Ye Chen had persistently pursued her, despite her repeated rejections. Over the years, he had never given up, continuing to fight for her affection.

Finally, about a month ago, she had accepted Ye Chen's confession. She knew he was a good person, but his temper sometimes grated on her nerves.

After some contemplation, she responded, "Alright, I forgive you, Ye Chen. But I don't appreciate unfounded accusations, and I hate it being prevented from talking to others, especially guys. I mean, I understand you're my boyfriend, and I would never betray you."

Ye Chen, on the other hand, was overjoyed by Liu Qian's words. "Thank you, Liu Qian. I won't repeat the same mistake. I hope our relationship continues to thrive," he sincerely expressed.

Liu Qian simply nodded, offering a faint smile. "Alright, Ye Chen. I'm a bit occupied, so, goodbye," she conveyed before ending the call.

She placed her phone back on the table and returned to her bed. However, before long, her phone rang again.

Riing~riing

Liu Qian furrowed her brows. She had already clarified her stance to Ye Chen, so why was he still calling?

Nevertheless, she picked up her phone once more, only to find that the caller wasn't Ye Chen; it was Long Tian.
