Chapter 45 Confrontations and Compromises

Long Tian watched in silence, his eyes narrowing slightly. He was genuinely taken aback by Li Yue'er's decision to torture Li Hai first, and then to decapitate him. He had not anticipated this level of brutality from her.

Approaching her, Long Tian gently tapped Li Yue'er's shoulder. "You did well, Li Yue'er. It's what you should have done—show no mercy to your enemies," he said.

Li Yue'er didn't respond; the dagger slipped from her grasp, and she leaned against Long Tian's frame.

"Can I go with you?" she asked, her expression devoid of emotion.

Long Tian was slightly surprised by her request, but he quickly smiled. "Let's leave this place," he said, guiding Li Yue'er to the car.

Both of them entered the car, leaving Li Hai's lifeless body on the ground.

************

Long Tian and Li Yue'er headed in a certain direction, leaving the Li family residence behind.

Li Yue'er felt a sense of calmness after experiencing the unexpected. It was her first time killing someone, especially a member of her own family.

The feeling of the moment when she killed Li Hai was still vivid in her memory.

"Where are we going?" she asked.

"Back to the villa," Long Tian replied casually.

Li Yue'er nodded as she heard his answer. Today, she had seen her family's true face. The Li family residence was no longer a place she considered home.

*************

Meanwhile, within the Wudang Sect, a burst of light shot up into the sky, indicating that someone had broken through a level.

Under a tree near a lake, a young man with a familiar face grinned, his excitement evident.

"At last, I've reached the second level of the Qi Foundation realm!" Qin Chen exclaimed with joy.

For over a week, he had been cultivating within the Wudang Sect, and he had finally broken through.

His innate talent was ordinary, but his cultivation foundation was different from the average cultivator's. Although he was at the second level, he was confident he could defeat a three or even fourth level Qi Foundation cultivator.

This was all thanks to Han Yuan's support and Shi Huang's permission to use the sect's resources, even though he hadn't officially joined.

Of course, there were some Elders and original disciples who disliked him, but he had promised the Elders that he wouldn't cause trouble.

Qin Chen gazed at the sky where the Milky Way was visible. Sometimes, staring at the stars brought him tranquility, but for some reason, he now felt uneasy.

His mind was still on Li Yue'er. It had been more than two weeks since he last saw her, and he missed her terribly.

Li Yue'er had been his childhood friend, always standing up for him when he was bullied. During elementary school, they had made a promise to marry each other in the future, though she might not remember it now.

Qin Chen chuckled to himself, lost in his thoughts.

Shaking his head, he said, "It seems I should return to Tianzhou. The awakening of the martial spirit is near, and I need to prepare."

************

The night had passed, and morning greeted the world. Its rays fell upon Long Tian's face as he still slept on the bed.

A few moments later, he slowly opened his eyes. Rubbing them, he sat up in a cross-legged position.

Afterwards, he headed straight to take a shower. Today was a school day, and he actually missed the classroom atmosphere.

Once his shower was complete, he donned his school uniform and headed to the dining table. Breakfast had already been prepared.

It wasn't cooked by Li Yue'er but by his subordinates. Last night, as soon as they arrived at the villa area, Li Yue'er suddenly lost consciousness again due to the recurring effects of her special physical condition.

Long Tian knew how to handle it. He only needed to find the necessary ingredients and items.

After finishing breakfast, he got into his car and drove towards Tianzhou High School.

**********

Vrooom!

The sound of his car's engine roared in the school area as Long Tian parked it in the designated parking lot. Stepping out, he wore a smile on his face. It had been two weeks since he last experienced the school environment, and he was starting to miss it.

Walking towards his classroom, he noticed a lot of workers carrying heavy equipment towards the ceremony field.

Long Tian called out to one of the students, "Hey, you, come here."

A student around his age noticed and walked over to him.

"What's going on?" Long Tian asked casually.

"You don't know? Isn't the headmaster announced it three days ago? Tomorrow is the day of Martial Spirit Awakening, a big day for everyone," the student answered enthusiastically.

"Tomorrow?" Long Tian raised an eyebrow. He had thought it would be held this week, not tomorrow.

"Alright, you can go," he added.

The student nodded and headed back to the classroom.

Long Tian stood for a moment, rubbing his chin. It's not like he's unprepared, well, he kind of is.

Unconscious for two weeks, he missed out on making the Evolution Elixir. That's what he intended to create from the start.

He already acquired two ingredients, the tears of Tianzhou lake he stole from Qin Chen, and the dragon horn gifted by Ling Han.

"It seems like today is going to be a busy day," he mused aloud.

The Evolution Elixir was crucial for him. Qin Chen consumed it after awakening his Martial Spirit, and it had a significant impact on him, but its effects would be even better if consumed before awakening the Martial Spirit.

***********

"Hey, wait up," as Long Tian walked towards the classroom, a familiar voice sounded from behind.

He turned around and saw that it was Qin Chen.

A smile formed on Long Tian's face, "Oh, Qin Chen, long time no see," he greeted, though his tone was playful.

"I know that, you're Long Tian. Where's Li Yue'er?" Qin Chen asked immediatelly.

Long Tian didn't answer but looked Qin Chen up and down. He could tell that Qin Chen's strength had improved rapidly, at least to the Qi Foundation realm.

"I'll tell you where Li Yue'er is if you let me know what happened to you in the past two weeks," Long Tian said casually, crossing his arms.

"Hmph, you don't need to know that," Qin Chen huffed.

"Then I don't need to tell you about Li Yue'er. Where she is and how she's doing," Long Tian responded lightly, then turned and walked away from Qin Chen.

Seeing Long Tian's departure, Qin Chen felt uneasy. It had been more than two weeks, and he hadn't heard anything from Li Yue'er.

"Wait, I'll tell you," he finally said.

Long Tian turned around and grinned, "I'm all ears."

Qin Chen sighed, unsure whether it was good or bad to tell Long Tian, but he missed Li Yue'er greatly.

"Two weeks ago, I..."

***************

Long Tian listened to every word Qin Chen said, not expecting that even Shi Huang had given Qin Chen permission to enter the purification pond.

Of course he knew what it was and wanted to enter it. Only, he thought that time he didn't need it and soaking in the pool also took time.

He sighed, it seemed like Qin Chen's plot armor was so thick that not even Shi Huang could escape it.

"I've told you everything, where is Li Yue'er, and how is she?" Qin Chen demanded.

"Don't worry, she's safe at my house and I haven't done anything to her," Long Tian answered lightly.

Hearing this, Qin Chen breathed a sigh of relief, feeling reassured. But he still wasn't satisfied.

"I don't understand, Long Tian. Why did you kidnap Li Yue'er? Return her to me, and I'll forget the conflict between us," he said earnestly.

"I refuse. I still need her as a maid," Long Tian declined and turned to walk towards the classroom.

"What?" Qin Chen was taken aback upon hearing this, quickly catching up with Long Tian. "Are you insane? You're making Li Yue'er your maid?" he exclaimed, standing in Long Tian's way.

"Move aside," Long Tian said, his tone turned cold.

Qin Chen blocked Long Tian, "Not until you let Li Yue'er go!" he said angrily.

Long Tian's gaze turned cold. Qin Chen was truly infuriating. But as he was about to say something, an idea suddenly flashed through his mind.

His cold expression transformed into a grin.

"I might consider letting Li Yue'er go if you give me one thing I need," he said, his grin remaining.

"Are you trying to blackmail me? It will never happen!" Qin Chen retorted firmly.

"Then Li Yue'er will remain my maid, and you might not know what I'll do to her. After all, she's still a woman," Long Tian said with a grin.

Qin Chen gritted his teeth upon hearing this. It was clear that Long Tian was trying to extort him, and his demand was likely unreasonable. He didn't want to become his pawn. But on the other hand, he missed Li Yue'er dearly and wanted to see her soon.

With a heavy heart, he asked, "What do you want?"

Long Tian grinned, answering, "I want the Heartblade of Guo Jian."
