Chapter 34: Similarities of fate

Qin Chen lay motionless in the sect's medical room, with three skilled sect medical experts attending to him. The scent of medicinal herbs filled the air.

They were cultivators with high-level healing abilities, their hands glowing with a soft green aura as they simultaneously held Qin Chen's left chest.

Shi Huang and Ning Yuan watched the healing process intently from the side. The reason Shi Huang helped Qin Chen was because he felt a faint golden aura emanating from Qin Chen.

A golden aura was something rare and elusive. It was a sign of luck but could also be a harbinger of disaster. He knew this after reading several ancient manuscripts that described it in detail.

Without hesitation, he helped Qin Chen. Gambling with fate, hoping that Qin Chen was not a disaster, but a stroke of luck.

"Will he be okay? What happened to him?" Ning Yuan suddenly asked, her voice laced with concern.

"I don't know. His condition is critical and especially his dantian, it's a bit complicated to explain," one of the medical experts replied, his tone grave and serious.

Ning Yuan became increasingly worried. If sect-class medical experts like Wudang didn't know what was happening to Qin Chen, it must be a serious problem.

She could only pray silently and hope that Qin Chen would recover soon.

Meanwhile, in the depths of the demon abyss, Long Tian behaved strangely, precisely the demon that had entered his body. He held his head tightly, which throbbed with intense pain.

"What is this? Impossible…" the demon muttered in disbelief, his face slick with sweat.

He felt Long Tian's original soul trying to take over his body again.

This should not have been possible. He was one of the strongest demon, and entering someone's body was not a problem, including people with high talent.

He felt the inside of his body burning with an intense heat. And at the same time, he felt there was another entity in his sea of consciousness besides Long Tian's original soul.

Shen Yulan, on the other hand, still watched from afar what the demon would do. Before entering this abyss, she had actually been told by Long Tian to follow him and absorb the demon's soul.

But at this moment, she chose to watch longer because she felt there were several souls in Long Tian's body fighting for control.

She understood that it was Long Tian's soul and the demon, but she felt there were several other souls in his body, which is why she hadn't helped him yet. It was too intriguing to miss.

The demon looked in agony, he roared very loudly, holding both sides of his head tightly.

"No, this body is mine!" He roared fiercely.

His pupils suddenly turned an icy blue but recovered in an instant, then turned blue again.

It looked like a fierce clash between two souls fighting for control of their host.

And after a few seconds, his pupils turned completely blue. His expression also changed, becoming colder and more cruel.

"A little demon wants to take over my body? I will devour you!" He snarled cruelly.

He closed his eyes tightly and entered his sea of consciousness.

Here, the demon paced confusedly. Long Tian's sea of consciousness was not an ocean but an endless expanse of pitch darkness.

And suddenly, a pair of piercing eyes with blue pupils appeared in front of him as if they could see right through him.

A giant hand reached out towards him, grabbing him roughly and bringing him closer.

An old man with thick white hair mustache and beard covered by crackling lightning appeared before him.

His hand moved towards his mouth; the demon would be eaten!

"Noooo! Aaaargh!"

However, it was all too late he had already been devoured by the giant entity.

A few seconds later, black aura erupted and entered dantian, becoming a new cluster of stars with a more solid foundation.

"No one can disturb this boy!" The entity's voice boomed powerfully.

In the outside, Long Tian's limp body fell into hot bubbling magma. Shen Yulan approached quickly and realized that Long Tian was unconscious.

Her expression was one of shock and bewilderment, "The demon's soul vanished? How could this be? Did he absorb it?" she mused aloud, her voice laced with disbelief.

The absorption of a soul was a feat deemed nearly impossible for humans in the lower world. It required an exceptionally high level of soul technique to achieve, yet Long Tian had managed to do it.

Shen Yulan furrowed her brow in deep contemplation. She had been with Qin Chen for several months, during which he had demonstrated many of his strengths, including his talent and skills.

But in recent days, Long Tian had revealed many of his own remarkable abilities. She found herself somewhat conflicted; if she were to ally herself with Long Tian, it would not take long to restore her body.

Yet, deep down in her heart, she felt that remaining with Qin Chen was the right course of action.

After a moment's hesitation, she shook her head, dismissing the thought. She quickly took flight, soaring upwards to inform Ling Han of Long Tian's condition.

***********

Meanwhile, at the Wudang sect, Han Yuan made haste towards the medical room. Shi Huang had sent him a telepathic message urging him to return to the sect immediately due to Qin Chen's critical condition.

He flung open the door to the medical room and saw Qin Chen lying motionless, attended to by three individuals.

He rushed over, "What is his condition?" He inquired earnestly.

"Critical. There is nothing we can do," one of the medical experts replied solemnly, releasing his hand from Qin Chen's chest.

Han Yuan's expression grew grave. He immediately placed his hand on Qin Chen's left chest and examined him. As he had feared, Qin Chen's heartbeat was exceedingly weak; it took 5 seconds just for it to beat once.

"Allow me to tend to him!" He declared resolutely.

The other two medical experts promptly stepped aside, permitting Han Yuan to take charge of Qin Chen's care.

Han Yuan wasted no time in utilizing his medical abilities. As luck would have it, he was one of the most skilled among the elders.

*************

Time flew by and before they knew it, evening had descended upon them. At the Wudang sect, the disciples went about their usual activities.

But within the confines of the medical room, Qin Chen lay listless and unresponsive. Ning Yuan remained by his side, her gaze never leaving his face.

It wasn't that Han Yuan had neglected to care for him; in fact, at that very moment he was fighting to save Qin Chen's life. He made his way towards the temple's peak with great urgency.

As he reached for the door handle, he suddenly paused as realization dawned upon him. He turned around and saw Shi Huang standing before him.

"Do you wish to discuss something?" Shi Huang inquired lightly, his hands clasped behind his back.

"Yes, sect master. I seek your permission to bring Qin Chen into the purification pool," Han Yuan replied respectfully.

But Shi Huang furrowed his brow in concern, "The purification pool? Is Qin Chen's condition so dire that he requires the purification pool?" He asked.

"Yes. His dantian is teetering on the brink broken. If we delay any longer, I fear he will become an ordinary human being," Han Yuan replied gravely.

"I cannot allow it," Shi Huang said firmly.

"I implore you, sect master. Qin Chen is the most important person in my life. I owe a debt of gratitude to his family and now only Qin Chen remains. I will have failed as a human being if I cannot protect him after all that his family has done for me," Han Yuan pleaded earnestly.

Shi Huang let out a deep sigh, "Is he truly that important to you? Han Yuan, I am aware that Qin Chen possesses a golden aura but I cannot discern whether it signifies good fortune or impending disaster. If he proves to be a disaster will you take responsibility?" He asked gravely.

"I will do anything for Qin Chen even if it means sacrificing my own life, sect master," Han Yuan replied unwaveringly.

Shi Huang fell silent as he regarded Han Yuan's unyielding determination. He hadn't expected that Qin Chen could inspire such devotion in Han Yuan; such willingness to lay down his life. And judging by his unflinching resolve, it seemed that he harbored no doubts whatsoever.

"Very well. I grant you permission to bring Qin Chen into the purification pool," he finally relented.

Upon hearing this, Han Yuan immediately prostrated himself before Shi Huang, "Thank you, sect master!" He exclaimed gratefully.

Shi Huang helped Han Yuan to his feet, "Do not waste any more time and go. He needs to be saved, does he not?"

"Indeed, thank you once again, sect master," Han Yuan nodded.

With that, he bade farewell to Shi Huang and made his way back to the medical room.

Shi Huang stood watching as Han Yuan's retreating figure gradually disappeared from view. Once again, he had broken the sect's rules for an outsider.

First Long Tian and now Qin Chen…

As for the purification pool… It was a pool located at the second peak of Mount Wudang.

It was formed from a spring that had flowed for thousands of years and was considered a sacred area of the sect.

Its fame stems from the enduring legend that it possesses the remarkable ability to heal a multitude of ailments
