Chapter 118 Clash of Sects

Meanwhile, in the Wudang sect area...

Rumble!

The sound of thunder echoed through the night sky, striking down several people outside the Wudang sect.

Long Tian appeared calm, even though he had killed several masked individuals.

This was exactly the same as in the original plot, where the Golden Star Sect was assisted by the Order of Ancient, a belief that had existed for thousands of years.

He didn't know their purpose, their motives weren't thoroughly explained in the original plot.

Long Tian's gaze fixated on a woman with snow-white hair standing not far from him. He approached her.

"An impressive fight. You must be very strong. In which realm your cultivation base?" he inquired.

Li Yan merely glanced at him, her response curt, "That's none of your concern," she said dismissively, then proceeded to another location without further explanation.

Nevertheless, Long Tian became increasingly intrigued by her. Her aura was similar to what he felt from Shen Yulan. It was not impossible that she also came from the upper realm.

"How enigmatic. I wonder how she found her way into this world," he mused under his breath.

However, he swiftly shook off his curiosity, refocusing his attention on the ongoing battle, and moved to another strategic position.

Under the cover of darkness, the Wudang sect faced a covert onslaught by the Golden Star Sect and the Order of Ancient. Approximately a hundred formidable adversaries had infiltrated their premises.

And, of course, he would help.

---

Back at the Golden Star Sect, Xiong Zhu's countenance displayed a mix of panic and rage. He seized the collar of an elderly man standing before him, his fury boiling over.

"What do you mean the treasure is missing?! Are you suggesting an infiltrator breached my pavilion? Is this some sort of joke?!" he thundered, his anger palpable.

The elderly man wore a grim expression, his voice heavy with regret. "I don't know, Sect Master. I ordered my subordinates to retrieve it, only to find them dead," he explained somberly.

Xiong Zhu's frustration escalated upon hearing this. "So you didn't take it immediately? You're an Elder, is your brain malfunctioning? Shit!" he exclaimed furiously, hurling the man away in his fit of rage.

His expression was extremely grim; he intended to retrieve the treasure to make peace, yet, it had vanished!

------

Meanwhile, in the battlefield...

Slash!

The sturdy figure of an armored man was cleaved in two. Shi Huang swung his sword effortlessly, blood splattering across the ground.

Unfazed by the body count he was accumulating, Shi Huang remained focused, his attention unwavering. Several lifeless bodies lay strewn behind him, and the latest addition was that of an Elder, now lying lifeless on the ground.

Participating in battles or skirmishes wasn't his usual inclination, but when it concerned his son, Shi Huang couldn't remain idle.

From the sky, Yu Zhong descended and stood before him. "Master Shi, you seem different today. It's rare to witness the fierce side of someone as wise as you," he remarked.

"Had the Golden Star Sect not harmed my son, I might not have been provoked into action," Shi Huang replied, his tone devoid of emotion.

"Well, wisdom often conceals a ruthless streak. I understand that. Anyway, let's continue our onslaught," Yu Zhong said, his resolve unwavering.

Shi Huang was prepared to press forward once more, but his attention was suddenly captured by a group of figures advancing towards them.

Yu Zhong too noticed their approach and maintained his vigilance, refusing to let his guard down.

As the figures drew nearer, Yu Zhong's expression grew more serious. He could discern that it was Xiong Zhu, the sect leader, accompanied by a handful of others.

However, Shi Huang regarded them with an unmistakable intent to kill. He unsheathed his sword, advancing menacingly. Yu Zhong, however, halted his steps. "Wait, Master Shi, Xiong Zhu doesn't seem inclined to fight. Perhaps he wishes to communicate something," Yu Zhong advised, his eyes sharp with alertness.

Acknowledging Yu Zhong's counsel, Shi Huang sheathed his sword once more. "Let's hear what he has to say. If peace is his intention, it's already too late for such a resolution," he stated coldly.

"Agreed, let's listen to him first," Yu Zhong concurred.

With that, Xiong Zhu and his entourage arrived before them, their presence commanding a wide berth amid the ongoing battle.

"What do you want, Xiong Zhu? If you seek peace, I'm afraid that's no longer possible," Shi Huang addressed him, his voice cold and unwavering.

Xiong Zhu's expression darkened. "I've come here seeking peace indeed. Can't we reconsider this? Hundreds of lives have been lost due to your assault," he pleaded.

"Had you not taken my son's life, Xiong Zhu, this bloodshed wouldn't have transpired. Now, it's too late, and your sect will face utter destruction!" Shi Huang declared with a cruel resolve, unsheathing his sword once more.

Xiong Zhu's anxiety deepened, but he refused to capitulate. "Hold on, Master Shi. You might need to rethink this. Do you think I'll idly stand by amidst all of this? You're unaware of your sect's current state," he said with icy determination.

"Oh, do you think I'm a fool? Do you believe I didn't anticipate that?" Shi Huang retorted sharply.

"Even if you are aware, you don't comprehend the strength of my subordinates," Xiong Zhu countered fearlessly.

"Very well, I'll show you," Shi Huang sneered, producing a device resembling a screen but more advanced in design.

All eyes were drawn to the device, yet Xiong Zhu's unease intensified.

The screen illuminated, displaying a first-person perspective video capturing a battle between Wudang sect members and enigmatic black-clad adversaries.

Thunder roared and struck down the black-clad individuals.

"Is that Long Tian? Man, it would be fantastic if he joined the Wudang sect," one voice commented in the video.

"That's hardly surprising; he's Long Zuandi's grandson," another voice responded.

The black-clad adversaries succumbed instantly to the thunder's fury.

Upon witnessing the video, Xiong Zhu was overcome with panic, his heart racing in his chest.

"Master Shi, Yu Zhong, I implore you to hear my explanation. We were acting on orders, and I had no other choice," he pleaded desperately, his face drenched in sweat.

"It's too late for explanations, Xiong Zhu. My wrath can only be extinguished by the annihilation of the Golden Star Sect," Shi Huang declared coldly, his presence imposing.

Xiong Zhu perspired profusely, the air growing hotter and denser under Shi Huang's relentless pressure.

Gritting his teeth, he raked his mind for a solution, desperate to extricate himself from this dire situation.

Yet, in an unexpected turn, Shi Huang launched the first strike, seizing Xiong Zhu by the neck and hoisting him into the air.

"You'll meet your end by your own hand!" Shi Huang proclaimed icily.

"You'll die by your own actions!" Shi Huang said coldly.

"FUCK!" Xiong Zhu spat, immediately summoning his martial spirit to fight.

The battle began, a duel between sect leaders. Yu Zhong and other elite soldiers also faced several Elders.

-------------

The cacophony of battle reached a fever pitch as over 700 combatants clashed fiercely within the confines of the Golden Star Sect's domain. There was no escape; the alliance forces had effectively sealed off the sect's outer perimeter, ruthlessly eliminating anyone attempting to flee. A grim tableau of lifeless bodies adorned the grounds outside the Golden Star Sect, a stark testament to the brutality of the conflict raging within.

Amidst the chaos, Qin Chen slowly opened his eyes. After a brief moment of confusion, he sat up and looked around, trying to make sense of his surroundings.

Suddenly, he remembered something and panicked, glancing at his right arm. Fortunately, his worst fears did not come true. The arm he thought was severed was intact! He couldn't comprehend what had happened, but it was undoubtedly a fortunate turn of events.

At this moment, Shen Yulan emerged from the jade pendant. Her expression was earnest as she spoke, "Qin Chen, it seems you possess an extraordinary martial spirit."

"Oh, Lady Shen, do you know something about it?" Qin Chen asked, curiosity piqued.

"When your martial spirit appeared, you were immediately enveloped in a golden aura. That aura even caused your severed arm to reattach itself to your body," Shen Yulan replied, her tone earnest.

Hearing this, Qin Chen was somewhat surprised. He hadn't expected his martial spirit to be capable of such feats.

However, he reasoned that it made sense since his martial spirit was that of a great and mysterious man. He didn't understand why it had manifested, but it was undeniably a fortunate occurrence.

"How long have I been unconscious?" he inquired.

"I don't know. I can't measure time specifically within the jade pendant," Shen Yulan answered.

Qin Chen nodded and then slowly stood up. He still felt soreness in various parts of his body. He couldn't even muster his aura or cultivation strength. Fighting the Elder on the fifth floor had given him a genuine sense of horror. He was grateful for his martial spirit's intervention.
