As unbelievable as it was for Zayn, he wasn't even given enough time to think properly.
A dozen invisible spears pierced through the air, crashing down on him, and cracking his bones.
Zayn was pushed deeper into the ground before he was picked up and thrown through the battlefield.
His Spirits, sensing that their master was in danger, hurriedly changed their approach. Millions of Soul Wisps filled the sky, but Zayn was not given to pick up even one.
He wanted to use the soul particles in the surroundings, but his access was denied. It was burdensome as he felt incapable of doing anything.
The first thing Zayn saw when he regained his composure and senses was his Spirits turning into wisps that were pulled back into his Soulrings.
And then it happened.
Black streams of electricity gushed out of the Demon King's body. The Demon King rushed toward Zany like a frenzied beast chasing its half-dead prey.
'This…'
As the pair of crimson eyes approached him with incredible speed, Zayn figured that it couldn't be helped. He couldn't hold back anymore.
The four Heroes and three Infernals turned into wisps as they were pulled back inside Zayn. They were still full of energy, but Zayn pulled them back, nonetheless.
He required their strength.
Zayn retrieved thousands of Soul Orbs which he absorbed in an instant. He used Cy-Stride at its full power to disappear from the Demon King's view.
Afterward, he used one of the techniques he created himself, Spirit Fusion.
After etching the Soul Symbol of his Spirits onto the Soulrings, Zayn noticed that the Soul Symbol was much more formidable than he first thought. It allowed him to do many things that he presumed to be impossible before.
Zayn didn't expect that he had to release Spirit Fusion so early, but the Demon King was a formidable opponent. It was necessary to use his full power – without holding back any of it – to defeat the Demon King.
Thus, he initiated a temporary sevenfold Fusion, becoming one with the four Heroic Spirits and the three Infernal Spirits.
Streams of golden and black energy burst forth from Zayn's body, shrouding him tightly. The golden streams formed an armor that protected him from all physical and mental harm, while simultaneously enhancing his physical strength manyfold. He was also temporarily granted perfect control of blazing fires and crackling thunders. Simultaneously, tens of magic circles were deeply engraved onto the golden armor, further amplifying his strength and resilience.
Meanwhile, the black streams shrouded his body like a second layer of skin. First, the black streams pressed into his skin, then they entered his skin. His skin turned black and his eyes crimson. A set of purple horns grew out of his forehead and his hair was dyed purple. Zayn's presence changed repeatedly, growing more menacing and terrifying by the second.
The temporary sevenfold Spirit Fusion didn't even require three seconds to finish. However just before his transformation finished, Zayn heard the sound of an air explosion. His hair stood up to its end as the Demon King, who had been rushing at him, disappeared all of a sudden.
The Demon King had vanished.
It was almost as if he had been haunted by an illusion and as if everything was wrong.
However, the sound of another air explosion rang out far away to his right.
The Demon King changed his target!
The Normie King and the other Soul Saint became the Demon King's target all of a sudden!
'Why? Can you drain their energy like I can devour the deceased's soul particles?' Zayn wondered, but he didn't think too much about it. He moved instinctively, sending all his Spirits to protect the Normies and stall the Demon King, even if it was just for a second or two.
Zayn had quickly analyzed the situation and gave orders to charge. His Spirits sacrificed their lives to stall the Demon King while Zayn used Cy-Stride to appear in front of the gathered Infernal Demons. A devilish smile formed on his lips as he lifted his Dragontale Twin Sabers.
The Dragontale Twin Sabers released a frigid aura, however, one of them was eerie and both frigid and searing hot at the same time, while the other was eerie and overflowing with crackling thunders that rang through the entire battlefield.
He knew that his Spirits didn't stand a chance against the Demon King, but the same applied the other way around!
The Demons had stood no chance against Zayn's attack, not even the Infernal Demons after he entered a sevenfold Spirit Fusion.
A single slash was more than enough to demonstrate this clearly, once and for all.
Several Infernal Demons, every single one of them with six completed Soulrings, died at Zayn's hand after he released the Ice-and-Fire Slash and the thunder-glacier slash.
The compressed energy released from the Ice-and-Fire slash and the thunder-glacier slash was several times stronger than the energy stored in the bodies of the Infernal Demons. It was not something they could block, even though they thought it was possible at first.
Their bodies were severed, and they slumped to the ground lifelessly moments later.
However, Zayn was not yet done.
"Arise!"
Several Infernal Demon Spirits formed a second later.
Zayn willed them to attack their former king, and that was exactly what they did.
They would sacrifice their lives to stall the Demon King while Zayn would kill more and more powerhouses, manifest their Spirits, and throw them at their former King.
Zayn didn't feel a tinge of guilt at the thought of executing this plan. He was ready to go all out the moment he went to the surface of the Demon territory.
Why would he have to show mercy to those who wanted to see him dead? That didn't make sense!
"Die and become mine…ALL OF YOU!!"
