A young man, wielding beautifully azure sabers in each of his hands, ran through the forest with nimble movements.
He easily used the surrounding environment to his advantage to change his trajectory and reach the higher branches of the trees around him. His movements were light and rapidly. It was almost as if he was flying through the forest as he pursued his prey.
A huge, fifteen-meter-long lizard with brown scales, was running away from the young man. Tens of deep gashes spread across the lizard's back, injuring the monster severely.
Despite the severe injuries, the lizard was still faster than the young man. If not for the complex environment, the young man's nimble movements, and the strong winds that blasted in his back, the lizard would have been able to escape the human.
However, the human would never allow the lizard to escape. He waited painstakingly for a whole week to hunt the Lesser Earth Dragon, so how could Zayn allow the monster to escape now that he was at an advantage?
The Lesser Earth Dragon was a Soul Lord and the overlord of the small mountainous forest. Zayn had entered the Earth Dragon's territory less than ten days ago.
He was hunting other monsters with the intention to increase his strength rapidly. Unfortunately, he encountered the Earth Dragon. It overshadowed Tera's earth control and turned the surrounding area upside down.
The Lesser Earth Dragon was truly supreme when it came to controlling the surrounding area. As long as you could find some earth in the range of the Lesser Earth Dragon, it would make use of it to fight its opponents in the dirtiest possible ways.
The Assault Pack and Defense Horde, including their Commanders, had been sealed in four compressed earthen walls that had earth spikes jut out from the inner side of the walls.
Controlling the earthen walls to move closer, the Lesser Earth Dragon ended up spectating the death of 32 Spirits with glean. It was always enjoyable to witness the death of the weak. Showing off his overwhelming power was not something the Lesser Earth Dragon could do often. However, now that new prey was daring enough to enter his territory, the Lesser Earth Dragon wouldn't have held back.
At the end of the day, Zayn was the only one who survived the battle. He avoided all traps and cut through the Earthen Walls using the Glacier Slash of the Dragontale Twin Sabers. It was not cost-efficient to use Glacier Slashes to cut the Earthen Walls but the Soulblade was not strong enough to cut the Earthen Walls while allowing him to maintain his high velocity.
Maintaining his speed was the most important because the Lesser Earth Dragon never stopped attacking. Its unceasing attacks had been quite bothersome, but Zayn had to collect the Artifacts and Armaments his Spirits dropped upon death.
He was not willing to lose equipment worth thousands of gold coins, just because some Earth Dragon was not willing to let him hunt in its territory.
Zayn escaped with some light injuries. They weren't noteworthy in any way.
However, he didn't like that his Spirits had been defeated so easily.
The Lesser Earthen Dragon had not fought against the Winged Serpents and Aero because the environment had not been suitable for the deadly dive of the Winged Serpents.
With that in mind, Zayn had come up with a new plan. He allowed his Spirits to recuperate after they had died and retracted inside the Grimoire of the Ancient. His Spirits were as agitated about their loss as Zayn had been.
Thus, a few days later, they initiated their first real attack. They fooled the Earth Dragon by baiting it with the Assault Pack and the Defense Horde, pulling it to a small elevation in the mountainous forest where no trees blocked the sky.
Aero created ten strong air currents which were exactly what the Winged Serpent Spirits had needed to charge down and severely injure the Soul Lord Earth Dragon.
In fact, the injury was not severe, but the attacks that had followed up were. All ten Winged Serpent Spirits had charged at the Earth Dragon's head with a dive close to 400 kilometers per hour.
The Winged Serpent Spirits nearly died upon impact, but their sacrifice had been worth it. The Lesser Earth Dragon had been distracted and injured, providing the Human Spirits, Glutton, and Zayn enough time to go all-out.
Most of his Spirits had been killed in the fight against the Lesser Earth Dragon, but that was still acceptable. Their deaths weren't eternal and their equipment had been stored away already.
Now he only had to pursue the Lesser Earth Dragon and wait for it to tire out, and freeze.
It had been hit with four Glacier Slashes, and each of them cut through the terrific defense of the Lesser Earthen Dragon, cutting it in different spots, and spreading the freezing trait of the Dragontale Twin Sabers!
"Die and become mine!!"
Zayn slashed toward the Soul Lord and released two Glacier Slashes when the Lesser Earth Dragon reached a narrow path that was overgrown by gigantic trees. It was not possible for the Lesser Earth Dragon to escape somewhere and its soul particles had also been drained completely.
The Monster's movements were sluggish due to the freezing effect of the four Glacier Slashes that had already hit it.
No matter, what the Lesser Earth Dragon wanted to do, there was no way out. After all, the ginormous trees in front of it were more than ten meters in width and breadth, each!
Just as the Lesser Earth Dragon was about to be sliced and beheaded, Zayn's pupils dilated. He frowned and released the vast majority of his remaining soul particles, releasing them through the bottom of his feet to jump explosively to the left.
A moment later, a thunderous sound rang through his ear and something heavy smashed where he had been just a moment earlier.
His body shot into a huge bush that was covered with several layers of thorns
However, the thorns were his smallest problem.
"That was my prey, you bastards!"
