All-in-all, the amount of soul particles inside his Spirits had increased by roughly 10% each.

If they were to spend 10 months absorbing soul particles, they would be able to create their next Soulring easily. This was pretty fast, considering that even talented Blessed like Merlin required a total of three years to advance from a Soul Squire to a Soul Knight.

Of course, Merlin Kivan's situation had been a little different because he had been under constant tutelage from his master and because he had other things to do than absorbing soul particles.

Nonetheless, Merlin Kivan wouldn't have been faster than Zayn's Spirits either. It was just too overpowered to be able to absorb soul particles 24 hours a day, for weeks, months, or even years without any issues.

Zayn was quite satisfied with this overpowered attribute of his Spirits. Their endless stamina was certainly something advantageous that could be made use of.

'But I am even more overpowered than them. I should be the last one to complain, either way.' freewebnov(e)l.com

He smiled sneakily at his own train of thought and agreed silently that he was more overpowered than the Spirits. He could see the Soul Wisps of the deceased and absorb their soul particles as long as he contributed ot the monster's death.

This made it pretty easy to become powerful in a short period of time.

There was also Glutton, the Mutant Gluttony Termite Queen Spirit, with the exceptional ability to devour bodies, digest them and turn them into compressed orbs of soul particles. Combining both Zayn's special trait and Glutton's ability, his strength could skyrocket to an extreme degree by going out to hunt just for a few days.

But instead of going out to hunt mindlessly to increase his strength, Zayn chose to create a few pages within the Grimoire of the Ancient.

It was about time that he recalled a few more memories of the past before he was thrown into this world. He was also in need of more empty pages to store the Spirits he would create sooner or later. The five Winged Serpents had been squeezed on the third and last empty page Zayn had created until now.

Zayn went out to hunt with his Spirits. He would devour the ownerless soul particles of the monster he killed for himself while using Glutton's Soul Orbs to create a big batch of empty pages and some written pages in the Grimoire of the Ancient.

That plan sounded reasonable to Zayn, and he started with the plan by massacring a huge Apex Pack of Greater Forest Wolves.

He didn't specifically order his Spirits not to kill the monsters so that he could end their life and absorb the ownerless soul particles of the deceased's Soul Wisp, however, they didn't kill the Greater Forest Wolves when they encountered foes whose combat power was a lot weaker than theirs.

It was much easier to cripple the weaker Greater Forest Wolves and fight the stronger ones seriously.

That way, a synergy was created in which Zayn and his Spirits fought the Greater Forest Wolves' Apex Pack, eradicating it without too many issues.

Zayn received the ownerless soul particles of more than 50% of the Apex Pack, just for Glutton to dish out a large number of Soul Orbs with an extraordinary amount of soul particles compressed inside them.

pǎпdǎ Й?νê1,сòМ The first hunt of the day was pretty interesting. It was not easy to fight the Apex Pack of the Greater Forest Wolves, but that was perfect for him.

His stiff muscles loosened up in the fight and he was slowly finding back to his peak performance. The combat strength he displayed was slowly growing higher as Zayn was getting more accustomed to the power he had attained after becoming a Soul Knight.

Continuing to fight large groups of powerful monsters in the following days was exactly what he needed.

Compared to the boring, time-consuming and highly arduous task he had completed over the course of four weeks, going out and fighting with your life on the line was certainly better.

It caused adrenaline to course through his body unceasingly and make him feel excited. Fighting powerful opponents was pretty interesting, and the same could be said about becoming stronger, seeing how your Spirits were growing in strength and creating unique plans that could only be initiated with existences such as his Spirits!

Sometimes, Zayn initiated hte most suicidal strategies, using Maman to lure a bunch of monsters in a certain direction before attacking them all. In other occasions, he sacrificed Maman to spread the forces of monster groups that were simply too powerful with their combined strength.

Using various tactics which included long-range attacks, moving the ground with Tera, attacking from the air, silent assassination, or frontal confrontation, Zayn and his Spirits were slowly getting used to the multitude of tactics they had tested out.

That was also why Zayn didn't even notice how thick the Grimoire of the Ancient had gotten over the course of five days.

It had been too intriguing to experiment with various strategies, fighting all kinds of powerful monsters in smaller and bigger groups. Thinking about it, he was pretty sure that he and his Spirits could fight a Soul Lord by combining their forces.

This was an intriguing thought, even though Zayn didn't really want to take the risk and test it out.

He would rather take a good look at the Grimoire of the ancient, the ten new empty pages that had formed and the three new written pages that had drained much more soul particles than most of his Spirits could absorb within a full month.

Reading through the three written pages that had been formed over the course of a few days, Zayn read them slowly and with great interest.

It was about time that he got hold of more information about the past.

However, the memories that flooded him confused him a lot more than expected. This was especially the case for a specific tale that appeared on the sixth written page.

[The Heroes from another world.]

'This is not supposed to be a fairy tale…but something helpful…right?'
