At the end of the day, Winged Serpents were terrific hunters with exceptional speed, attack power, and crazy instincts.

They could move silently through the air, further increasing the lethality of the silent killers.

However, their wings were their weak spots. No matter how much of a steel-like skull they had, once their wings were damaged, burned, or possibly even cut off completely, they were likely to turn from the hunter into the hunted.

That was something Zayn had read in the Archi of the Adventurer Hall when he read the reports about all monsters habituating in the human territory. There were special books, called Beastarium, which had records of all monsters that had ever been encountered.

There were various volumes of Beastarium, which were separated according to their rank, the region they could be found, their special traits, unique powers, and so on.

Zayn read as much as possible, refreshing his knowledge and learning what monsters he wanted to get his hands on.

It was pretty important to create an Army of Spirit with which he could fight all types of opponents without too many problems. That would be the best up he could think of.

The Winged Serpents were part of the aerial unit Zayn wanted to create, and there were a few more unique monsters that attracted his interest near the mountain range.

Zayn made it a mission to increase his strength at the mountain range to make sure that he wouldn't have to face a situation where he was forced to use Soul Extraction and Spirit Manifestation mid-battle. Against Manager Tilan, his Mercenaries, and other people this had worked out pretty well. Unfortunately, it was not as if he would have the same luxury to avert his focus for more than half a minute to summon a Spirit or two.

Zayn could tell that it had been a dangerous move but it was not as if he had expected to fight more than 400 Blessed. Manager Tilan's attack had been on an unpredictable scale, and he wanted to prepare for it the next time something similar happened.

The moment the first Winged Serpent smashed onto the ground was the moment Tank, Saber, and Berserk began their slaughter. Tank bulldozed the Winged Serpent that had just lost one of its wings. Saber burned it with its searing hot flames, just for Berserk to issue the final attack, beheading the monster that had already been in tremendous pain.

Killing the remaining four Winged Serpents after their wings had been injured wasn't too much of an issue. It merely required some time and effort.

In less than ten minutes, the battle ended with Zayn on the side of the winners. The five Winged Serpents were dead, and their Soul Wisps hovered around Zayn. He had exerted the Soul Guidance technique on the Soul Wisps to prevent them from ascending.

"Glutton, eat their corpses. As for everyone else. Protect me!" He ordered loudly before he started to extract the Soul Essence of the first Winged Serpent. He manifested the Winged Serpent's Spirit less than two minutes later.

After taking a few deep breaths, he was ready to manifest the second Winged Serpentine Spirit.

Following that, 15 minutes passed until the last of the five Winged Serpents had been manifested.

They were only five meters long because their strength had decreased drastically. Right now, each of the Winged Serpents had only one completed Soulring and enough soul particles to fill 40% of their second Soulring, with a darkish green semi-transparent halo, indicating their above-average talent.

Even though some had lost their wings, the Winged Serpent Spirits were completely unscathed. Their Soul hadn't been injured, after all!

"Good job, Glutton," Zayn said as he turned over to the Mutant Gluttony Termite Queen Spirit, which had devoured the bodies of the five Winged Serpents, creating five Soul Orbs out of them.

He reached out to the Soul Orbs and devoured them without hesitation.

The soul particles that were unleashed within him pulsated vigorously, but Zayn got them quickly under control.

Retracting his remaining Spirits, only the Winged Serpent Spirits remained.

However, that was not for long either. With the manifestation of five new Spirits, it was about time that he created a bunch of new empty and written pages within the Grimoire of the Ancient!

"Spread out and search for a small village, or a well-hidden cave without too many Soul Lord Monsters in the surroundings!"

Zayn's order was heed to immediately. The Winged Serpents shot high into the air where they spread out in five directions to search the most suitable place without too many noises and few commotions to focus on the creation of the frame of the third Soulring, and to have some monsters nearby to hunt.

In the next few hours, the Winged Serpents returned to share their memories with him before they left once again.

Zayn was given a few interesting locations to stay for a few weeks, but most of them were either too high up in one of the mountains, or they were too secluded for no monster to reach without the ability to fly.

It was already close to the evening when he finally found a decent place. It was a small cavern entrance that spanned less than thirty meters in length and width. The ceiling was six meters above him with a few jagged stones pointing to the ground.

In the corner of the cavern entrance, one could see a small inlet that led to a hall that was quite similar in size as the cavern entrance.

The cavern entrance led to the hall, and there were a total of three cavern tunnels leading deeper into a cave. Zayn was not too interested in the cave but he sent Agile, Saber, and Maman inside the tunnel to find out more about the deeper parts of the cave. Saber could use his flames to light up the surrounding, Agile could see, and Maman...Maman was just a Human Spirit that deserved some more punishment.

Once the Spirits returned, he received their memories through physical touch.

However, what he saw surprised him quite a bit.

"That may be useful for later!"
