Just as Zayn had expected; the battle was not yet over.

In fact, it would need a bit more effort to kill the Chimera, whose Lion-head smashed to the right a moment after the left Dragontale Twin Saebr pierced through its serpentine tail.

The Chimera couldn't see him in the flames that shrouded Zayn right now but that didn't mean it couldn't smash its heads against him.

The Lion-head crashed into Zayn's side and a disgusting sound rang through the Colosseum's arena. It sounds like Zayn's arm was twisted and broken simultaneously. The spectators who heard this, couldn't help but feel shivers running down their spines.

Zayn, on the other hand, felt intense pain before he was hurled through the air. He landed more than ten meters further away, where he rolled over the ground, collecting sand and dust.

His attack had forcefully been ended, but that was something he had expected to happen. The only downside was that he didn't expect to injure his right arm like this.

The force of the Chimera's headbutt was enough to fracture his right arm. He could still desperately hold onto the Dragontale Twin Saber in his right hand, but he knew that he wouldn't be able to execute lethal attacks with his right, not in the current condition of his right arm!

'Get up, you old brat!' He commanded himself in his mind while getting up from the ground.

However, he was not fast enough. The Chimera was already charging at him while releasing thick mist from the Lion-head's mouth. Liquid Acid was also sprayed to the surrounding area, forcing Zayn to either face the Chimera head-on or attempt to evade the highly corrosive acid.

The thick mist reached Zayn even before the Chimera could, restricting the usage of the Soulblade and the freezing effect of the Dragontale Twin Sabers to be fully unleashed.

If he wanted to create an attack similar to the one he released before, he would have to use the remaining stock of his soul particles. That would be his death sentence, if not for the trump card he had up to his sleeves.

Initially, Zayn didn't want to use this trump card, but it seemed like he couldn't avoid using it.

But before he would prepare his trump, it was necessary to evade the Chimera's charge.

The Chimera was about to reach him and the maws were about to dig into his juicy flesh to tear him apart when Zayn leaned forward and jumped straight ahead.

Zayn's jump allowed him to emerge beneath the Chimera, where he was nearly bulldozed. His head was nearly mashed the moment he was below the Chimera. Fortunately, the paws of the Chimera missed him by an inch or two.

'Fuck, how close was that?!'

Ignoring his wildly palpitating heart that tried to tell him the obvious…that he nearly died from suicidally jumping below the two-ton heavy Chimera, Zayn tried to inflict a few injuries to the Chimera. If he could restrict the Chimera's movement speed that would already be pretty good.

His right arm hurt like hell but he still sliced the Dragontale Twin Saber into one of the Chimera's legs. There were a few areas that weren't protected by black scales. Zayn used those to slice two of them, one with each Dragontale Twin Saber.

In the process of inflicting rather shallow injuries to the Chimera as the lethality of his attacks was drastically reduced without the Soulblade and freezing trait of his weapons, Zayn died nearly five times and he felt as if his arm would be town apart once…but other than that everything was fine.

He inflicted shallow injuries, which was more than enough to further enrage the Chimera, and he was still alive.

Once the Chimera had charged over him, Zayn could hardly control his trembling body. He forced himself to get his act together and jump up from the ground. He began to retreat quickly to an area that was void of any acid on the ground, and without any of the thick mist.

The thick mist didn't disperse at all, which was somewhat unexpected.

'The mist is not supposed to be lasting that long…its leg is also completely unscathed as if Merlin never cut it off…and then the toughness of the Goat's neck…Merlin shouldn't have lied to me…my failure would mean that he would never be able to regrow his arm…'

'He doesn't make such simple mistakes either….'

Zayn's mind was rattling, trying to find a logical reason for the oddly high prowess of the Chimera.

It was almost as if the Chimer had never been crippled before.

'Wait…never been crippled before…that might not be the right term…but what about healed?' Zayn's eyes widened in terror.

He knew from Merlin that not even Soul Knights should be able to heal wounds such as the ones the Chimera had sustained from its fight with Merlin. However, that didn't mean a Soul Knight with a powerful healing Blessing couldn't restore some of the Chimera's power if it was healed over a long period of time…let's say seven days…

'Did that maniac heal the Chimera before the battle?!' Zayn theorized in his mind, his shock apparent.

A beast such as the Chimera was usually not allowed in the City of Zerek. The moment it went rampage and escaped the Colosseum, it would destroy the whole city. After all, not even the strongest Blessed of the City, Merlin Kivan, had been able to actually kill the Chimera at its full power.

That was also why the Chimera was never supposed to be allowed to regain its full combat prowess, even if it would make a good show.

But that was not something Manager Tilan could be bothered about anymore.

The Manager had actually lost his sanity.

That was something Zayn was sure of.

…and he faced a monster much stronger than they actually calculated before.
