Chapter 32: Progress In Plan

By now, all the people in Bunker A were gathered into a group in front of them to watch the wonders.

"I will choose some of you and take you with us to hunt zombies so you can get strong and acquire powers like us," Erix said.

"Sis, let's go!" Hathor said with excitement. He raised his hand and waved at Erix but couldn't grab his attention.

He walked around the group so Erix could see him before saying, "Brother, can you take me, please? I know how to fight!"

Erix saw Hathor and was startled at first since he called him brother. But he knew his identity was safe as he had never removed his mask.

The only ones who knew he was a half-zombie were Rin and Isabella.

"Get back, Hathor!"

Bertha and Marina arrived beside Hathor.

"You don't need to go outside. Just wait for your father," Bertha said with a frown at her son.

"And you," Bertha narrowed her eyes at Erix and said, "Why are you wearing a mask? Show us your face before making empty promises to people."

'This bitch…' Erix cursed in his head but remained calm. It was good that he was better at controlling his emotions after turning into a half-zombie race.

"Remove his mask? Humph, why should he do that? Who do you think you are to command us?" Rin said as she coldly snorted at this woman who spoke to Erix in a condescending tone.

Bertha was going to say something but then realized that her backing and influence wouldn't be effective in this apocalypse.

Erix put his hand on Rin's shoulder and shook his head slightly before saying, "I am not making empty promises, and I won't force anyone. I just wish the best for you all."

"Umm... Hi, everyone. My name is Isabella. I was also powerless before meeting them. They helped me get strong after saving my son and me," Isabella said. Her tone was honest, and her expression sincere.

Seeing all attention gathered on her, Isabella lip's twitched a bit in slight nervousness, but she continued, "I-I think you all should level up while you have our help and while zombies are still low-leveled. Unlike people who are dead and don't have a chance to get strong, you all are lucky to have survived."

"So please don't waste this chance and your life by doing nothing," Isabella finished before taking a breath.

Erix and Rin smiled as Isabella's words were super useful, and her body language and tone were humble and easily believable since what she spoke was essentially a truth, a fact.

"Young man, I am ready to go out and take the chance. Please help us get strong."

"Me too, big brother," said an eighteen-year-old boy while clenching his fist.

"Sister, I will go out and fight!" a high-school girl said as she looked at Rin with determination.

"Me too!"

"Please take us too!"

The soldier was dumbfounded and thought, 'I should report to General Tark about the situation here.'

"We will take five of you first, but not right now. We've just returned from outside and need to rest," Rin said.

"No problem, miss. Please take some rest."

"Yes. You can choose the first five among us after you finish resting."

Rin, Isabella, and Erix went inside a room and started discussing in a low voice since Aaron was still sleeping on the bed.

"We'll make it quick by letting five people batches reach level 5 quickly. They ought to get at least one skill around that level," Erix said.

"True. It will give them a sufficient sense of power, and they will also witness our powers, which will give them stronger desire," Isabella said with a nod before wryly smiling as she added, "It's like we are doing something bad by talking like this."

"Haha, of course not. This plan is actually good, Erix. Once we make them strong, we need to declare you the base leader since people will be willing to follow us after we make them strong."

Rin said with a grin and locked Erix's head into her arm before ruffling his head as she continued, "But, your control is better than before, haha. If it were previous you, you would've roasted that woman alive with your words."

"Eh, is he that sharp with his tongue?" Isabella asked in surprise.

"You don't know, sis. When I first met him, he was a mean brat, and we got into arguments often, haha," Rin jovially laughed as she remembered her early days with Erix.

"I am still a bit shocked at your official student-teacher relationship," Isabella said with a wry smile. "I thought those only existed in fiction."

Erix smiled as he rested his head on Rin's thighs and said, "There's only four year age gap, and it's common in reverse. You see many men dating younger girls and their marriages, and vice-versa."

"True," Isabella nodded with a smile.

"Umm.. Mum, I am here…"

Aaron muttered in his sleep.

"Sis, we'll go to our room beside this one. You two rest here."

"Alright. You can come to call when it's time to leave," Isabella said with a nod. "Have a good rest."

"Yep, you too."

Rin and Erix got off the bed and left.

Isabella looked at sleeping Aaron beside her with a tender smile and kissed him on his forehead as she felt blessed to have been saved and alive.

After locking the room, she also slept beside Aaron to rest.
