Chapter Forty-Nine

This period is the most frequent for recruitment fairs at major colleges and universities – after all, within a month, a fresh batch of students will be graduating.

So, Finn Lewis quickly found his target. Tomorrow, Shining Pearl University is hosting a recruitment fair at its largest facility, Bright Stadium. While it’s not exactly a film or teacher-training university, which fit Finn’s expectations, it still ranks within the top ten universities of the Flame Nation, just falling two places behind his own university, F University.

Although Shining Pearl University is technically classified as a science and technology university, it has basically developed into a comprehensive university. And in such a university, there should be quite a few beauties amongst its various faculties. Although there are other film and teacher-training colleges holding recruitment drives, those schools are smaller, even technical ones, with far fewer students than Shining Pearl University.

More importantly, based on his previous mission, Finn feels that with the capriciousness of the system, this recruitment for a full-time female assistant might have various underlying performance metrics. If such metrics do exist, the better results would likely be given to applicants with higher education and prettier faces.

And there’s no shortage of students at Shining Pearl University; they should be able to find some pretty girls. After getting his target, Finn started making plans – primarily, he knew his last-minute recruitment plan was a complete failure. There were hardly any pretty girls who showed up, and Finn had to make sure he was better prepared for tomorrow’s visit to Shining Pearl University.

First off, he had to go by car, and he decided to take the Ice Horse. He would also get the other guys from his dorm to drive his other cars over. By the way, he had to dress up a bit for tomorrow. Of course, suitable recruitment paraphernalia was also going to be needed.

Only after visualizing his plan for tomorrow did Finn lie down on his bed and set his alarm for six in the morning. He then called his dorm mates and notifying them one by one to come over and help him tomorrow morning, and only afterward did he fall asleep.

The next morning, Finn woke up early, taking his time to choose a low-key but luxurious outfit from his dressing room. After dressing up, he took a look in the mirror and complimented himself, “Looking good!” He then took all the car keys and went downstairs.

The three dorm mates who could drive soon arrived: Chubby Callum, Daniel Pan, and Prince.

“I say, Mr. Finn, why did you call us over this early? Did you buy a house here?” Chubby Callum and the others arrived shortly after getting off their floors.

“Yes, I bought a house here. Come over when you have time. Besides, you have to help me out. This is related to an important aspect of my life. Please help out, bros.” Finn saluted the three of them and said with a big smile.

“Alright, no problem, just tell us, what is it?” The three of them glanced at each other and asked.

“Help me drive these cars to Shining Pearl University.” Finn directly threw the car keys in his hand.

“Damn! An Ice Horse!” Prince, who received the keys from Finn, couldn’t contain his excitement and shouted out loud. The remaining keys in the hands of Chubby Callum and Daniel Pan belonged to the white G65 and Lanquema R8 respectively.

“Holy cram Mr. Finn. you bought three cars? Are you planning on showing off

and soaring high with us today?” Chubby Callum couldn’t help but shout.

“Brothers, today’s matter seriously concerns my lifelong happiness! You mustn’t neglect it. Once everything’s over today, you can ask me any favor.” Finn said quickly. If this fails, the day when his junior junior is unbanned might be indefinitely postponed. The thought of that filled Finn with dread.

The three looked at each other, and though they didn’t understand why Finn was so solemn, they promised to help him out without any hesitation. Finn immediately opened all four of his garage doors.

Upon seeing the cars, Chubby Callum gave Finn a strange look, “Damn, Mr. Finn, you are a real-bloody-millionaire! No, Deity Tycoon suits you even better!”

“Damn, too extravagant. I can’t resist, I’m in.” Daniel Pan exclaimed and rushed towards his Lanquema R8. Chubby Callum and Prince also darted towards their allocated vehicles.

“Hey, wait a minute. Just park the cars next to the entrance of Shining Pearl University Stadium. Got it?” Finn shouted out loud. “I’m going to pick up some stuff. I’ll be right back.”

“Understood, don’t worry, Mr. Finn, I’m going first!” Daniel was the most anxious. Despite looking chubby, his driving skills were genuinely outstanding.

He was the first to start the car, and amidst the roaring engine, he zoomed off. Chubby Callum and Prince followed closely behind.

Only then did Finn get into his G65, close the garage door, and follow them out. Once all the cars were out and the garage door was closed, Finn quickly drove off. He was familiar with the nearby businesses and quickly found an interior design shop. He designed a large billboard listing his recruitment needs before he popped off the back seats of his G65 and loaded the foam board billboard into the boot.

By the time Finn got to Shining Pearl University, he noticed that there were already quite a few people at the stadium. His three mates seemed to have parked the cars fancifully, not because the cars were extraordinary, but because the parking spots were simply too unusual.

“Hey, hey, hey, are these cars all yours?” As soon as they parked their cars as

Finn instructed and went off to pick up items, a few students from the Shining Pearl University student council, responsible for maintaining order, saw Finn parking his car in the same spot and walked over to question him.

“Yes!” Finn replied, getting out of the car.

“Damn! You can’t park here. Go park somewhere else! Can’t you see that a job fair is being prepared inside? You’re parking right at the entrance. What are you trying to do? If your car gets scratched amidst such a crowd, who’s going to be held responsible?” The student council member began complaining.

“So, what if I take responsibility? If I’m not afraid, what are you afraid of? Plus, I’m here to recruit.” Finn retorted.

“Recruit?” The student obviously didn’t expect this response but quickly continued, “The job fair is inside. If you want to recruit, do it inside the tent.

What are you doing out here?”

“Uh, I am recruiting some staff for my own company, and it hasn’t even started yet. They won’t let me in.” Finn was well-prepared for this question.

“That doesn’t matter. You can’t park here; quickly move your cars.” The student came up, insisting.

“Mr. Finn, we’re here, we’re here.” At this time, the voices of Chubby Callum and friends came. The three of them walked over carrying two tables and a chair.

Finn ignored the student and went over to help his dorm mates set up the tables and chairs in line with his car. Then he said, “Thanks, guys. As soon as today’s affairs are over, just let me know your needs! I’m in no position to decline.”

“Enough, heh heh, but you should tell us what you’re trying to do.”

Finn scratched his nose. He had planned to dismiss this trio of mates. But if the truth came out and he ended up losing face, that’d be unfortunate. Finn was doing it for the mission, but who knows what these guys would think..
