Just as Shen Fanxing finished speaking, her eyes swept past Shen Shanghua, who sat in the middle.
He was the person she would spare her last bit of dignity for the Shen family.
If they want this dignity, they should accept it!

Shen Shanghua gave a heavy sigh and went silent for a while. Then, he reached out to hold Shen Fanxing’s hand, his wrinkled and calloused hand still warm.
“I did it for your own good. there are some things…”
Shen Fanxing’s heart sank and turned cold. Her fingers trembled as she tried her best to stop the tears.
“Grandpa, I would rather I received a call, telling me that my engagement with Su Heng has been officially annulled. The Su and Shen family wanted lme to announce that I was the one to break the engagement… They merely wanted to salvage the overall situation. Even though all of us will feel terrible, it’s more merciful than me being here tonight!”
