Beatrix, who was too pre-occupied earlier, failed to notice before but when Elandor was standing in front of her, her memory recalled,

She wanted to refute me but she couldn't find any relevant words.

-Like a lie she was telling herself to fool her mind, she kept repeating the same words again and again.
She didn't have the slightest of awareness that her emotions were starting to be led by Elandor.
The first step in manipulating someone is to win their trust and tell them about some common interests to increase your familiarity.
Then you gotta lead their thinking-process in a way you can predict how they will behave and react.
