Chapter 756 Try another way
Steve, Natasha, and Pietro quietly listened to Dio’s story and then frowned as they heard the bad news! Of course, they didn’t blame Dio for making the situation worse by causing the destruction of the Infinity Stones, but they didn’t know what to do now. The only thing that kept them going was the faint hope to return those who were gone during the blip, but now that the Infinity Stones were destroyed, they didn’t know how to accomplish that goal!
They didn’t even know if Dio actually made a mistake there. At the very least, they knew that Dio himself also did his best as he explained everything from beginning to end. What Dio did was no less than the best course of action that anyone would take as they envisioned the universe with the Grandmaster having complete control over the Infinity Stones that possessed their own body!
There was no mistake that the Grandmaster would turn the entire universe into his plaything! This was a situation that no one would be willing to take!
“Did you already confirm all this? What about the Grandmaster’s body?” Steve asked reluctantly.
“I really wish I was wrong, but unless a miracle occurs, then everything is already destroyed!” Dio sighed disappointedly. Everyone fell silent immediately as they didn’t know what to say to that.
“I believe in Dio’s judgement, but that means the hope to restore the universe with this method is no longer viable! We must find another way to restore the universe!” Natasha said as she took a deep breath.
“What you said did make sense, and there’s no point standing around waiting for a miracle to either! It is better to find another way indeed!” Steve said as he looked exhausted. Steve already thought about giving up more than once, and Humanity still stood strong. The pain from losing their loved ones would eventually fade too.
“Steve! Don’t give up now! Since the Infinity Stones are omnipotent, if such a power that was straight out of a fairy tale really exists in the universe, then maybe there is another magical item in the universe that holds the same amount of power?” Natasha said as she tried to cheer Steve up.
“Like what? A Seven glass beads that can summon a dragon that grants anyone any wish?” Dio said dejectedly.
“Maybe! I mean, who knows? I didn’t even know we had another life out of our planet ten years ago, but now I have already met aliens, demons, sorcerers, and gods! Since something as unreal as Infinity Stones exists, maybe we will find something as powerful as them later!” Natasha said hopefully.
Steve and Dio didn’t respond as Pietro finally sighed.
“I am going to train, don’t bother calling me for dinner later!” Pietro coldly said as he walked out of the room. He felt that everyone was already on the verge of giving up, but not him! He had to get his sister back! She was definitely waiting to be rescued!
He was not very good at formulating plans, but he could wait even if it would take him ten to twenty years! As long as he still lived, his plan wouldn’t falter!
He remembered that Dio once joked that a speedster should have a time manipulation ability. He heard that nasty guy jokingly say that if Pietro ran fast enough, he could even reverse time by going back to the past!
Pietro knew that Dio was joking at that time, but he really wanted to try that now! If he could do it, then he would be able to go back to the past and fix everything immediately!
“Dio, Pietro has been desperately exhausting himself during his training! He even fainted on the training field on several occasions!” Natasha said to Dio as soon as Pietro walked out of the room.
At the same time, Dio was thinking hard about the idea that Natasha proposed earlier. If the most powerful item in Marvel Cinematic Universe was the Infinity Stones, it would indeed be the end of the line. However, Dio realised that this world wasn’t Marvel Cinematic Universe per se! There were a bunch of other heroes that haven’t been revealed in the MCU that he already met there! In other words, the Infinity Stones weren’t necessarily the only omnipotent tools!
There had to be something better than the Infinity Stones, but the question right now was how to find them? He had a certain idea of the item in question as he was an avid fan of Marvel in his last world, but he didn’t know how to find them!
Dio thought about Pietro too. He knew that Pietro’s affection towards Wanda would make it hard for him to give up, even if that meant running himself dry. But then again, Dio himself didn’t know what to do, so he didn’t feel he had the right to stop Pietro from doing what he wanted.
Dio thought about it again and tried to remember the debate on the forum he frequented in the past world. The most obvious thing to try right now would probably be the Quantum Field that Hank Pym was working on as Ant-Man was trapped inside at the end of the Infinity War.
But what exactly did he have to do with the Quantum Field? Dio really had no idea of what to do. Could Quantum Field open up a dimension wall to a parallel world? Then should the Avengers join forces with another parallel world to save everyone here? Or was there any other item that the Quantum World hid that could be used to save everyone?
Dio couldn’t get his hopes up, but Dio knew that the least he could do was try!
