Chapter 664
“So, his goal is the destroy half of the entire universe?” Steve said as he looked at Dio for confirmation. Dio nodded, and everyone immediately felt a chill to their bone.
“This is horrible! That Tyrant is just a butcher that wants to kill as he blinks! Who died and made him king?” Scott said sarcastically. It was worth mentioning that while Dio wasn’t on Earth, Hank Pym had successfully accessed the Quantum Realm and rescued Janet! Furthermore, Janet successfully stabilized Ava’s quantum sickness!
Now, Hank Pym was studying Quantum Realm with the help of Janet, and it was going well. It wouldn’t take long before Ava could be rid of her Quantum sickness. But then again, if Ava were cured of the Quantum Sickness, her ability would disappear! Then again, she wanted to live her life without any pain caused by the Quantum sickness!
Back to the topic at hand, Scott’s words become an aspiration for the rest of the Avenger as it described the graveness of Thanos’ extreme idea. There was no way people would just agree with the idea of having their loved ones disappear just because they weren’t lucky enough to be part of the 50% in Thanos’ plan.
As the rest of the Avengers fell silent, Quicksilver suddenly spoke. “If that’s the case, then Thanos would have already marked the Earth as his next target. If that happened, he might just kill half of the life on Earth himself if we fail to stop him!” He said solemnly. Everyone else immediately made up their mind after hearing Quicksilver’s word. They immediately speculated that Stephen’s third disaster was related to Thanos!
“That might be true, but I have to say that the current situation is far worse than what we have in mind!” Dio said solemnly.
“Is it related to the Infinity Gems that you said earlier?” Steve asked curiously.
“Yes! As long as he collected 6 infinity stones, he just had to snap his fingers gently to wipe out half of the universe! The only thing that he would search on Earth is the Infinity Gem. Therefore, we only have to get it away from him!” Dio said solemnly.
Everyone was shocked by the information that Dio shared as they have realised that the situation had turned from bad to worse.
“But that is not the end of it! Before I returned to Earth earlier, I had a light scuffle with Thanos on Xandar! He had already obtained the Space Stone, meaning he can go anywhere he wants without any restriction!” Dio said solemnly.
“That is impossible!” Thor shouted as he stood up in shock.
“Nothing is impossible, Thor! The reason he got his hand on the Cosmic Cube was that your sister Hela took it away from Asgard in advance and then used it to teleport herself away before Asgard’s destruction! But before you say anything, you are right! Your sister is still alive! She teleported herself to Thanos’ ship, and after Thanos defeated her, she had to offer the Space Stone to save her own life!” Dio said solemnly.
Thor immediately hit the table in front of him angrily, breaking it apart! In order to defeat Hela, he resurrected Surtur to destroy Asgard, but now that Dio said that Hela was alive and even brought the Cosmic Cube to Thanos, it was simply too much!
“Damn it! I have to kill her myself next time!” Thor said frustratedly.
“Believe me, there will be a chance for you to do that! I have caused a huge problem for Thanos, and he may not be able to collect all 6 of the Infinity Stone in this dimension!” Dio said with a smile on his face.
“And why is that?” Steve asked.
“Power Stone that was in my possession is why! After fighting Thanos, I know that he was after the Power Stone in my possession, so I chuck it towards the one creature that was supposed to be left alone!” Dio said as he began describing what he had done to the Power Stone earlier.
But after hearing Dio’s story, everyone was slightly paled.
“So, you gave a creature that could destroy the entire universe a piece of stone that could power it some more? This is crazy, but I guess it wouldn’t be so painful to die being eaten by a planet-sized creature!” Scott said sarcastically.
“I know, if that creature gains enough momentum, it will cause serious consequences, but I only found out about it after everything was done! I couldn’t regret it even if I wanted to! But the good news is that creature is far away from Earth. It wouldn’t be able to enter any wormhole with its huge size, so we don’t have to worry about it for a while. The universe is vast, and there might be some powerful people out there who could defeat that worm, so we just have to hope that it wouldn’t bite us in the ass later!” Dio said confidently.
If the worm didn’t have the Power Stone, Dio knew the extent of the Macrophage Worm’s disaster would be, but as it had the Power Gem now, it was hard to predict the extent of damage it could bring to the universe! It would be the best-case scenario if Thanos and that worm killed each other!
“Your word is always comforting, so what should we do from now?” Scott asked as the mood didn’t seem to get any better after Dio’s speech. Furthermore, Scott was the one that had something to lose right now as he still had his daughter on Earth. He couldn’t just up and leave like the rest of the Avengers!
Dio looked around at everyone, and when he finally got to Steve, he said, “I think it’s time to reassemble the Avengers!” Dio said solemnly. Everyone was surprised by Dio’s word, but they also felt relieved! In the face of such a threat, it was the best thing to gather all forces to ensure that the Earth would be protected from incoming danger!
But still, Steve hesitated for a while before nodding solemnly!
