Chapter 652
Dio was confused as Hela’s expression turned gloomy. Dio gripped the knife in his hand firmer as he was ready to attack at any given moment. After all, Hela’s action didn’t make any sense to him right now.
However, Hela didn’t have any intention to attack Dio as she suddenly said, “Are you here for the woman that was imprisoned by that Tyrant?” Hela asked with a sigh.
“What is your game here, Hela? Tell me honestly this time!” Dio said as he didn’t like that she could guess his goal from the get-go.
“It is simple. I want to make a deal with you! I will help you rescue that woman, but you have to help me kill the Tyrant!” Hela said solemnly. Dio saw the resentment in her eyes wasn’t fake, even though her demand was still annoying! With her personality, Dio knew that she must have suffered a loss to the point that she wanted revenge like this!
Dio’s thought was on point as she had to grovel for her life at the cost of the Cosmic Cube! Her pride couldn’t bear the humiliation that she felt in front of the Tyrant! She didn’t even acknowledge Odin’s rule over her, and Thanos wouldn’t have been any different!
But it was clear that after handing over the Cosmic Cube to Thanos, she didn’t have any value left on her hand. Still, Thanos ordered her to serve him as she had already killed one of his Black Order, Proxima Midnight, and she had to replace her position in exchange! As she was now under Thanos’s command, Corvus Glaive wasn’t able to exact his wife’s revenge against her, but still, she didn’t like the idea of serving under anyone!
She didn’t have the ability to resurrect herself after Asgard was destroyed, but then again, she couldn’t fight the entire army of Thanos on her own, as she knew that she would have a hard time against Ebony Maw! She hated to admit it, but it wasn’t exactly the best match-up between her and Ebony Maw due to his ability. Therefore, she couldn’t tell for sure whether she would win the duel between them!
But as Hela was malicious at heart, she would kill anyone that stood in her way if she was given any chance! She was a ruler, so no one could rule over her! With this personality of hers, she was lurking for the said chance to assassinate Thanos, and that was when Dio appeared before her!
Dio didn’t know what happened to Hela while she was on this ship, but there was no doubt on his mind that Hela’s deal was enticing! It was greatly aligned with his own goal, which was rescuing Carol and killing Thanos if he got the chance! But he had to know for sure whether Hela’s deal was really credible before accepting it! After all, it wasn’t long ago that they were enemies that go for each other’s throats!
Dio even helped Thor release the Flame Giant, Surtur, to destroy Asgard! Nevertheless, Dio didn’t really care. In the event that Hela turned against him, he would surely put out her life!
So, after a moment of silence, Dio raised his scythe, “to be honest, I don’t believe you, and I don’t think I have what it takes to believe you right now! So, get away from me or die!” Dio said coldly. Hela immediately summoned 2 thorns on each of her hands as Dio’s stubbornness was irritating her! How dare a mortal question her intention!
It was a clear choice on Dio’s mind as he wouldn’t bet his own life with a person like Hela! After all, Hela was a Tyrant herself! It wasn’t in her blood to save others!
Dio’s train of thought was on the right track as Hela, in fact, planned to pit Dio against Thanos and assassinated whoever came out victorious! She wouldn’t risk her life for the sake of revenge as she couldn’t resurrect herself any longer! She obviously had no plan to sacrifice anything in her possession to anyone anymore!
But unfortunately, Dio was too sharp, and Hela’s plan failed before it began! Somewhat irritated by the outcome, Hela put back the thorns on her hands and sighed. “There is a secret room to the left, and the person you are looking for is imprisoned there! The one guarding that place was a little bit tricky, believe it or not!” Hela indifferently said before she turned around and left Dio alone without any hesitation.
Dio became more confused at Hela’s attitude as he didn’t understand her goal at all! But nevertheless, Dio had nothing but a bad impression of Hela anymore! It seemed after the destruction of Asgard, Hela has become more troublesome than she was before!
Dio stood around as a new group of guards came and surrounded him once more, but to his surprise, Hela just walked away without hesitation! Another strange thing that he couldn’t fathom was that Thanos never showed up at all! Furthermore, Dio didn’t even see any of his Black Order around. Did Carol really deal such a huge blow on Thanos’ army?
But none of this should be Dio’s concern right now! So, he started to wonder whether he should trust Hela’s direction earlier or not as he was worried that it might be a trap! “Screw it! Even if it’s a trap, I can get away from this place immediately!” Dio said as he started to rush towards the secret room that Hela had directed him earlier. On his way to the secret room, Dio came across so many dead bodies!
“This seems to be the place!” Dio said as he stared towards a heavy metal door in front of him. Dio wondered if it was the right room as he couldn’t sense anything on the other side. Dio sighed as the situation had become troublesome and slashed the door open with [Reaper’s Gaze]!
The purple blade hit the thick metal door and opened a hole at once! Dio immediately stepped inside, and he immediately saw Carol nailed to a pillar and shackled by four chains! It seemed Hela really was telling the truth! But nevertheless, Dio was really furious! He had already envisioned that Carol’s situation wouldn’t be good, but he never expected that it would be this bad!
Now Dio had more reason to kill Thanos with his own hand!
“I didn’t expect you really have the guts to come here, but you make our job easier!” Corvus Glaive suddenly appeared from behind the door.
“Shut up! Villains like you like to talk too much! It seems you don’t understand the situation you are in!” Dio said as he teleported behind Corvus Glaive and immediately slashed his body relentlessly, turning Thanos’ Army General into minced meat!
