“So you are saying that I am not a person that you were looking for, and it was better if I am dead?” Dio asked indifferently.
“I am sorry, I just want to know where Scott’s whereabouts,” Eva said as she took a deep breath.
“If you find him, what would you do?”
“I will force him to cure me!” Eva said with a desperate look on her face. She knew that there was no hope for her other than asking help from Hank Pym.
“I believe you, but I don’t like your game, threatening others like that! So, you have three minutes to explain your condition. If it was really that desperate, I would take you personally to Hank Pym, but you need to calm down!” Dio said indifferently.
Bill and Eva didn’t understand Dio as he said that he didn’t like threatening others, but clearly, he was threatening them now! But as he said, if it could be solved peacefully, why use any force at all? With this on his mind, Bill nodded at Eva.
Eva then began to talk about her background, from the arrogant Hank to her unlucky father. From the accident to what happened to her after. She also told Dio what happened to her when she was recruited by the SHIELD! Not only did SHIELD lie to her, but they also treated her like a tool!
But after learning that the SHIELD would never cure her, she ran away! Obviously, the SHIELD only wanted her power. She understood that if she was cured, the SHIELD would lose an important asset.
“Who was the SHIELD’s director at that time?” Dio said as he interrupted her. “Is it Nick Fury?”
“No, it was Alexander Pierce. He was the one who trained me to become the Ghost. But after Nick Fury become the director, I also executed some mission for him.” Eva said informatively.
Dio nodded his head as he expected that much. Nick wasn’t someone who would go back on his words. He probably didn’t know what the Ghost’s original goal was as it was under Alexander Pierce that she was contracted as an agent. Of course, he might try to cure the Ghost but eventually found out that it was completely impossible and thus gave up.
But fortunately for her, Dio knew how to cure her, and now that all the pre-requisite condition is almost done, he could do it immediately. But Hank had to go to the Quantum Field and save Janet first. When Hank returned with the quantum energy later, it will be easier!
“How long would you be able to sustain your body?” Dio asked curiously. Eva immediately looked at Bill as he was the one who has more say in this regard.
“If you were to stay at the repair cabin for 12 hours a day, the shortest would be one year, and the longest would be two years!” Bill said after he thought it over for a moment.
Eva already knew that her body was at its limit, but hearing that she only had one or two years left to live, still took her breath away! No one wanted to live like this, but no one really wanted to die either!
“Well, it’s quite fortunate. So if it comes to the worst, she would still be able to live for a couple of months, right? That would be enough.” Dio said as he laughed.
“You have a way to save Eva?” Bill asked curiously. From the way Dio talked, Bill got the feeling that Eva’s condition was not a big deal for Dio.
Even Eva looked quite hopeful of the possibility that Dio would be able to cure her.
“I know that all she needs to repair her body was a sufficient amount of quantum energy! Now, Dr. Hank Pym can open the quantum channel, but there are still several details that have to be considered before we proceed, but let’s save that for later!” Dio said casually.
“I already considered that treatment plan too, but no one can come back from the Quantum Field! This plan was doomed to fail!” Bill said with disappointment on his face. He really expected an insight from Dio, but he didn’t expect it to coincide with one of his plans.
“Are you trying to say that Janet was the example for it?” Dio said as he laughed.
“Yes! Hank is a guy with a lot of shortcomings, but he was probably the best scientist in terms of the Quantum Field. Still, he couldn’t find a way to save Janet!” Bill said solemnly, but he was confused why Dio would laugh like that.
“It is true, but it was all in the past! What if I told you now that someone successfully entered the quantum realm and survived?” Dio said with a smirk on his face.
“That’s impossible! Who could possibly do that? Is it Hope? No, Hank would never let his precious daughter take such a big risk! Is it Hank himself?” Bill shouted excitedly, completely forgot that his status was still on bad terms with Hank Pym.
But at the same time, Eva shouted the right name. “It’s Scott Lang, isn’t it?”
“Bingo, you are correct, but there is no reward!” Dio said, still with a smirk framing his face.
Although Eva witnessed Scott’s battle with the CIA, she didn’t see how Scott escaped the CIA’s laser grid, but she predicted to some degree that Scott used some sort of new tech for his escape. Now she finally knew that Scott entered the quantum realm and returned safely!
