Chapter 844: Breaking Through the Heavenly Screen Pt.2

“Heh, so that’s what he was using to spy on me!” Jiu Du sneered after pushing 2 Martial Sages back with a single sword strike.

Huang Jinghan muttered in a low voice, “Let’s meet up with Kou Chongxue before talking about all these...”

As soon as the words left his lips, the largest of the 4 light rings that were emitted from the Halo Mirror shattered. The gap in the heavenly screen that was more than a dozen miles long shrank by 2 whole miles in an instant!

What happened wasn’t caused by the Martial Sages of the Azure Flame World. Instead, it was because of the rejection from the World’s Will itself and the self-regenerative ability of the heavenly screen.

Lu Wuzi’s face turned pale. The light rings were created from his fate dippers and even though one of them shattering didn’t mean that one of his fate dippers were destroyed, but his inner qi was greatly depleted and he suffered some slight injuries. He wouldn’t be able to exhibit combat abilities of a fourth element Martial Dipper Realm expert for some time.

“Hurry up!” Lu Wuzi roared. Obviously, he wasn’t talking to Kou Chongxue or Yi Jingxu. He was hurrying the experts of the Azure Ascension World who were still making their way over.

Yifeng’s figure flashed rapidly behind Jiu Du and Huang Jinghan, and every time either of them would face an attack from the Martial Sages of the Azure Flame World, he would appear like a devilish specter and launch his attacks from impossible angles behind them. He was akin to a master assassin who would release a strike at the experts of the Azure Flame World before retreating rapidly whether he succeeded or not.

They only had to cover a few hundred miles before arriving at the heavenly screen, and Yifeng released 9 strikes in total. There was at least 1 Martial Sage from the Azure Flame World who died under his sword, and there were at least 3 of them who were heavily injured and had to sacrifice their Martial Soul Clone. There were also others who were injured slightly.

“Hehe... Hehehehe... That fellow from the Heavenly Star Palace doesn’t seem like he can hold on anymore!” After forcing one of the Martial Sages who was attacking Huang Jinghan back, Yifeng cackled while pointing at the sorry figure of Yi Jingxu who just sacrificed a Fate Dipper Clone.

Huang Jinghan grabbed Yifeng by the collar all of a sudden and tossed him towards Yi Jingxu as he released a strange cry. “Alright, go help him out then!”

Above the heavenly screen, Lu Wuzi needed to prevent the opening Kou Chongxue created from closing up. Kou Chongxue and Yi Jingxu had to hold off the experts of the Azure Flame World on their own.

Well... Kou Chongxue was a monster and he didn’t really have much trouble fighting his enemies. With his Earth Element Fate Dipper Clone returning along with the Hidden Frost Sword, his combat strength more than doubled. His tyrannical sword qi ripped about the battlefield and he held off 7 Martial Sages himself.

On the other hand, Yi Jingxu was no Kou Chongxue! Even with Kou Chongxue enduring more than half the pressure from the battle, he was still surrounded by 3 Martial Sages. He was slowly forced into a disadvantageous position.

If not for the fact that the Lightning Bird on Kou Chongxue’s shoulder provided him with some assistance, Yi Jingxu might not have lost just a single Fate Dipper Clone.

Fortunately for him, a miserable cry that resembled the wails of a ghost soon rang in his ears. It sounded extremely jarring to the ears, but it was a strand of hope that arrived just as he reached his limit. Elder Yifeng from the Eternal Palace tumbled through space at a terrifying speed and he eventually stabilized himself. He launched a sneak attack at one of the Martial Sages who was planning to strike Yi Jingxu from behind and heavily injured the other party.

“Many thanks...” Yi Jingxu felt the threat behind him and a trace of lingering fear filled his heart. He couldn’t help but thank the strangely crazy Yifeng who just arrived, but he was shoved by the other party the next second and he started to fall towards the opening in the heavenly screen.

“Hah! We don’t need you here anymore you fool! Go to the Azure Flame World and pave the way for us there!” Yifeng’s sneer came from behind him.

When he was shoved earlier, Yi Jingxu had already cursed Yifeng to the ends of the earth. However, he discovered that he wasn’t able to control his body as he passed the heavenly screen and fell into the Azure Flame World.

Soon after, a much more reassuring voice from Kou Chongxue rang in his mind. “Beneath the heavenly screen is the Southern Yanlin Continent! It’s one of the 4 great continents of the Azure Flame World. The environment there is nasty and is comparable to our Jiao Continent! All of us will hold the Martial Sages of the Azure Flame World back and send our Martial Extermination Realm experts over as soon as we can. We will need Mister Jingxu to protect them for some time while we wrap things up here!”

Yi Jingxu was far weaker than the 4 great swordsmen of the Azure Ascension World and even Lu Wuzi. However, he felt a lot better after hearing what Kou Chongxue said.

Lu Wuzi was mainly holding the opening in the heavenly screen with his Halo Mirror for the Martial Extermination Realm experts of the Azure Ascension World to enter the Azure Flame World. However, they were afraid that the Martial Extermination Realm cultivators would become a pile of scattered sand after they entered if there was no one to lead them.

Yi Jingxu might have lost a clone and his combat abilities took a slight decline, but as long as he wasn’t completely surrounded and thrown into a disadvantageous position, he would have no problem fighting a third soul Martial Sage.

After falling through the heavenly screen, Yi Jingxu twisted his body and turned to look at the land below. He felt a wave of hot air pushing against him and his fate dippers felt a little strange. Even the circulation of his dipper qi was slightly affected.

That was the rejection they faced from the World’s Will.

After pushing Yi Jingxu through the heavenly screen, Yifeng changed his fighting style. He was no longer the mysterious assassin who launched attacks from the side. A strange feral aura emerged from his body as sword qi raged all around him. He immediately launched an offensive against 6 Martial Sages at the same time and he seemed no weaker than the current Kou Chongxue.

“Old Man Kou, your bird is big and impressive. Why don’t you let me play with it?” Yifeng didn’t seem to feel any pressure while fighting the experts from the Azure Flame World.

“Stop messing around. A truly powerful expert is here!” Kou Chongxue snorted and slightly reduced the pressure he was putting on his opponents. The 4 Martial Sages who were left fighting him could finally catch their breath. However, his gaze swept across all of them before landing on a buff-looking expert who arrived dozens of miles away.

“What expert are you talking... Ohohohoh? That guy looks pretty interesting. Do you think he’s comparable to me?” Yifeng was originally looking down on the Martial Sages of the Azure Flame World. However, his sword style was messed up slightly by an approaching expert. He fumbled slightly and even his accent was forced out of him.

Whatever the case, Yifeng was still an elder of the Eternal Palace and one of the 4 greatest swordsmen of the Azure Ascension World. He might have been caught off guard and was yelling non-stop, but he didn’t actually suffer any serious injuries. He was also able to forcefully stand his ground.

Unfortunately, with Yifeng caught up with the new expert who arrived, another ring of light shattered.

The tear in the heavenly screen shrank by another 2 miles and Lu Wuzi spat out a mouthful of blood. He yelled angrily, “Yifeng, are you really so damn weak?!”

“Stop asking if I’m weak or not! Go yell at Kou Chongxue and see if he’s up for it. He’s the one messing around and causing everything!” Yifeng screamed in response.

Lu Wuzi knew that it wasn’t too appropriate to start a screaming match with Yifeng and he decisively chose to keep quiet.

It was then that Huang Jinghan’s voice rang in their minds. “Everyone, calm down. We’re here!”
