Chapter 802: Retreating Completely Intact

When the five colored light ring that formed a region of sealed space finally disappeared, thunderous blasts and a frightening hurricane appeared where Feng Yezi and Shang Xia fought earlier. An endless rain fell upon the land and the density of heaven and earth qi in the area rose by a frightening degree.

Everyone who was paying attention to the battle knew that they were looking at the phenomenon that appeared after the death of a Martial Dipper Realm expert.

The question was...

Which Martial Dipper Realm expert fell?

Could it be Feng Yezi? Or was it Shang Xia?!

It was indeed possible for Feng Yezi to be the one slain... After all, everyone saw how he was forced into a corner after Shang Xia created the separate region of sealed space.

However, there were many who believed that it was more likely for Shang Xia to be the one who was killed. It hadn’t been 10 years since he entered the Martial Dipper Realm, and he was besieged on both sides near the end of the battle. He had to face 2 experts of comparable cultivation level. Feng Yezi, who was trapped with him inside the region of sealed space, and Yuwen Changqing attacked from the outside. The golden glow that appeared at the end seemed like what happened when a Martial Dipper Realm expert made a final struggle before his death...

When everyone was still guessing the identity of the cultivator who was slain, Yuwen Changqing seemed to have given them the answer they were looking for as he fell into madness.

With no one in his way, he charged into the frightening storm that appeared after the disappearance of the sealed space.

It was then that everyone realized that Feng Yezi had died!

Under such circumstances, Yuwen Changqing didn’t return to the Bing Continent. Instead, he rushed straight into battle. He might have felt that Shang Xia used up a lot of energy earlier in order to kill Feng Yezi, and was planning to take advantage of the situation to weaken the Tongyou Institution.

Strictly speaking, Shang Xia was considered a third generation disciple of the institution, but he was most likely going to be the future pillar of the institution! From a certain point of view, Shang Xia far surpassed Feng Yezi in terms of status, position, and potential in the Azure Ascension World.

If he was able to take the chance to kill the weakened Shang Xia, Feng Yezi’s death wouldn’t have been in vain. In fact, they would probably make a massive profit. The Tongyou Institution would face the greatest loss in their history... Their future would be severed!

The great experts whose spirits were waning after Feng Yezi’s death felt another round of stimulation and they turned their gazes back to the battlefield.

That wasn’t all. Yin Wanxiang’s mirage maze above the Taihang Mountains was broken and Yun Lu pushed the Divine Deer Staff past the obstruction into the storm.

Ji Wenlong’s blade light was also shattered by Jiu Qi, and the blade he sent over was damaged. It rang incessantly as it fell back into the You Continent.

The next second, a formless spear rip rushed into the storm and pierced a massive hole through it. Resplendent rays from the sun fell through the hole, illuminating the curtain of raindrops falling to the ground below.

The instant the 3 Martial Dipper Realm Ancestors entered the battle, the region of space was sealed off. They wanted to prevent Shang Xia from leaving by doing so, and once a certain area was sealed off, they started to disturb the space within in order to force Shang Xia who was hiding in the chaos.

No matter how the dark clouds in the area twisted and shook... Even if the space contained within was at the point of shattering, Yuwen Changqing, who was in the first element of the Martial Dipper Realm, Yun Lu, who restored his cultivation to the second element, and Jiu Qi, who was at the third element of the Martial Dipper Realm, failed to find traces of Shang Xia.

Did he already escape?!

No way!

With space fluctuating so violently, there was no way for Shang Xia to open a spatial tunnel to make his escape. Doing so would be no different from courting death. They also sealed the area, and with their divine wills covering the region, there was no way for Shang Xia to leave without alerting any of them.

Could he have left for the vast sea of stars?!

That wasn’t possible either!

There were countless experts on their sides traveling through the Beyond Heavens Pavilion and watching the battle play out.

There wasn’t a need to mention making a spatial tunnel where he was. It just wasn’t possible. As for running out in the vast sea of stars... Even if he was tired of living, he would need to pass through the Beyond Heavens Pavilion and cross the heavenly screen of the Azure Ascensions World. He would definitely alert the various experts when he did so. Yuwen Changqing, Yun Lu, and Jiu Qi never received any news from their respective factions that Shang Xia passed the Beyond Heavens Pavilion anyway!

That could only mean one thing. During the battle earlier, Shang Xia sacrificed himself to kill Feng Yezi!

“...” However, that didn’t really make sense...

Everyone who took part in the battle several years ago against the Spirit Abundance World personally witnessed many phenomena where Martial Dipper Realm experts fell.

The hurricane and storm that appeared earlier was created due to the death of a Martial Dipper Realm expert, but it was of such a small scale that it could only be caused by a single death.

That would mean that Shang Xia was definitely alive!

Yuwen Changqing also had a way to determine Feng Yezi’s status, and he could tell that Feng Yezi was definitely no longer with them.

As the various experts quietly observed the situation, the 3 experts from the Si, Ji, and Bing Continents nearly flipped the space around as they tried to look for Shang Xia/ Eventually, they could only leave, disheartened.

Shang Xia’s fate was questionable at the moment, and the way he avoided Jiu Qi, Yun Lu, and Yuwen Changqing remained a mystery. Even his current whereabouts was unknown!

Those who set their sights on the Tongyou Institution because of rumors of Kou Chongxue’s disappearance started to rethink their actions after Shang Xia’s feat of killing Feng Yezi while evading the 3 Martial Dipper Realm experts. They eventually chose to stop whatever they were doing and to lay down their flags and still their drums.

Feng Yezi wasn’t the strongest expert in his cultivation realm, but he was definitely the hardest to kill.

Under such circumstances, Shang Xia still managed to intercept and kill him! The shock he brought to the various powers was something they never experienced before.

The Tongyou Institution... No... They weren’t the only ones. The entire You Continent had to be considered. Even with Kou Chongxue not making a move, they still possessed enough strength to threaten other powers!

The most important point was the fact that Kou Chongxue didn’t show himself throughout the entire process! If he had died in cultivation or had truly gone missing, why would the members of the Tongyou Institution take such a big risk and put on such a big show to display their strength?!

Shouldn’t they be keeping a low profile as they tried not to piss anyone off?

Of course, the frightening battle capabilities Shang Xia showed off during the earlier battle were nothing compared to the sword strike from Kou Chongxue that crossed 30000 miles and dealt with several supreme experts from the Spirit Abundance World.

Everyone still recalled the scene from back then like it was yesterday. As the battle neared its end, the resplendent sword qi that crossed tens of thousands of miles appeared. One of the experts from the Spirit Abundance World was slain directly, and another suffered heavy injuries. The last one only managed to live with slight injuries because the others exhausted a huge amount of power contained in the strike...

...

The mystery of Shang Xia’s fate didn’t remain a mystery for long. 3 days after the battle, Shang Xia didn’t hide his tracks as he made his way back to the Beyond Heavens Pavilion from the depths of the sea of stars. He flew into the Beyond Heavens Pavilion with a long streak of five colored light behind him. Soon, he returned to the Tongyou Paradise.

The five colored trail he would leave behind already became his unique signature, and everyone in the Azure Ascension World could recognize it.

Feng Yezi was dead, and Shang Xia was confirmed to be fine!

That wasn’t all. More importantly, Shang Xia returned after 3 short days! He didn’t seem to have expended as much energy as they thought! His injuries didn’t seem too serious either.

Everyone had to reevaluate Shang Xia’s combat prowess again, and the effects the battle brought about rippled through the Azure Ascensions World once again.

...

He had been cultivating in seclusion for several days in the Tongyou Paradise, and along with his 3 days of recovery in space, he was mostly recovered.

“... How did you do it?” Chu Jia dropped the modification of the grand formation on the ship she was working on halfway through a test drive and returned to the institution after learning that he was back. Several days had passed since he came back, and Chu Jia entered the Tongyou Paradise and barged into the region he was cultivating in seclusion. She didn’t seem to care that Ji Wenlong, Shang Bo, and Yun Jing were also there as excitement laced her voice as she asked her question.

Shang Xia stared at the deputy patriarchs a little awkwardly and chuckled softly before muttering, “Obviously, I tore through the void and went to space.”

“That’s not possible. Even if your Five Element Ring can stabilize space enough for you to do that, there‘s no way the 3 of them wouldn’t have noticed. Moreover, you would have to pass through the heavenly screen and you would definitely have alerted many people.

Seeing the smile on Shang Xia’s face, Chu Jia finally noticed the deputy patriarchs standing at the side and her face flushed red instantly. She greeted them with a bow before finding a suitable place to sit. However, she still glared at Shang Xia as she waited for him to reply.

Coughing once, Shang Xia didn’t seem to mind the presence of the deputy patriarchs and he whispered, “Do you remember the rank five Teleportation Talisman I told you about?”

Chu Jia wasn’t the only one who was curious. Ji Wenlong and the others didn’t understand what he was talking about.

However, Chu Jia’s eyebrows shot upwards the next moment. “Are you talking about the rank five talisman you came up with after gaining inspiration from the semi-complete rank six talisman?”

Shang Xia nodded before turning to the deputy patriarchs to explain what he told Chu Jia back then. “The rank five Teleportation Talisman can send me directly into space, without affecting the heavenly screen...”

They seemed to have thought of something as their expressions turned serious.

Chu Jia reached another layer of understanding regarding the talisman and she seemed to have thought of something. She couldn’t control herself as she asked hastily, “If the talisman will allow you to avoid all sorts of obstruction, including the heavenly screen, would you be able to use it from space to enter a surface world?”

If he could only leave the world and pass through the heavenly screen without disturbing it, things might not be completely unacceptable or unbelievable. However... If the latter was possible, the rank five Teleportation Talisman would be much scarier than they had thought.

The same phrase appeared in everyone’s mind that very instant. Illegal Immigration!

What worried all of them was the ability Shang Xia’s talisman brought about. It came from the inspiration he received from the Spirit Abundance World’s rank six talisman... That would mean that it was also possible for them to make use of their rank six talisman to send themselves into the Azure Ascension World without alerting anyone...
