Chapter 737: To the Death

In the Celestial Remains above the Jiao Continent, Kou Chongxue stood on the Ruined Observatory with his hands collapsed behind his back while leaning on his Hidden Frost Sword.

The vast sea of stars was revealed before him and streaks of light fell from time to time. The rustling of the Starry Tree could be heard behind him as they absorbed a large portion of the starlight that fell onto them.

Only a small portion of starlight entered the stream running through the ruins and allowed the shrunken stream to slowly return to its former state.

Kou Chongxue glanced at the powerful starlight energy for an unknown amount of time before sighing softly, “Looks like our predecessors already found a way forward… The Elysium was destroyed because of some unknown reason and their records were also destroyed… Nothing was passed down to the rest of us…”

“Haah… Actually, that’s not entirely correct either. Before my appearance, the experts of the various Holy Lands had already scoured the place countless times. They probably retrieved whatever historical records they could and it would be especially so for the Divine Capital Sect and the Eternal Palace. They might actually know the origin of the Celestial Remains… Oh right, there’s the Yuanchen Sect too. Liu Jingsheng probably allowed his Xiangyang Holy Land to ascend at this moment because they found something here. Looks like they have some sort of in-depth understanding of the Celestial Remains!” Kou Chongxue continued to mutter to himself.

“However, my Tongyou Institution will probably have to be added to the list of those who knew what happened to the Celestial Remains after today.” Kou Chongxue raised his head to look at the vast space before him that was filled with spatial cracks and regions of shattered space. There seemed to be a deep hum filling the region and everything felt like it was trembling slightly.

The next second, the Celestial Remains jolted violently. Large regions of space collapsed and its vastness shrank by half.

Kou Chongxue’s expression shifted slightly as with the connection from the Stellar Cauldron, he could feel that the world origin contained in the new world had been shrinking.

As the Origin Holy Artifact of the once powerful Elysium, the Stellar Cauldron had the ability to swallow world origin from the world the Elysium was built on. Now that the Celestial Remains was breaking down, the cauldron definitely played a huge part in it.

Also, the shrinking world origin reserves of the new world caused the Stellar Cauldron to be unable to suck up so much of it any longer. It wasn’t surprising for the space to be greatly reduced now that they didn’t have enough support.

A frown appeared on Kou Chongxue’s face. Looks like the ascension of the Xiangyang Holy Land has already begun. The Spirit Abundance World’s invasion definitely forced the 3 Elysiums to feel the pressure. Otherwise, they wouldn’t allow another existence that could rival their power to appear.

Looks like I can’t stay here for much longer…

Kou Chongxue’s gaze landed on the vast sea of stars above the Ruined Observatory and lamented inwardly, Who would have thought that a star diagram would exist so deep within the sea of stars? Once I get out of here, I won’t be able to return until the Celestial Remains is about to be completely destroyed…

Leaving his spot in the Ruined Observatory, Kou Chongxue didn’t head over to the spot he entered from. Instead, he simply slashed his Hidden Frost Sword before him.

A four colored light that shone gold, blue, green, and yellow seemed to flash before him and by the time the light dissipated, the afterimage of his sword was all that remained. The movement of his sword looked like an illusion.

The moment the spatial gate was formed, Kou Chongxue took a single step into it and disappeared. A few moments later, the gate collapsed. Several regions of weaker space within the Celestial Remains also started to crumble and only the strongest ones could remain for him.

The experts of the Azure Worlds understood that the Yuanchen Sect had forced them into a corner and would be profiting by drawing on their reserves of world origin.

Unfortunately, despite how much they wanted to shred the Yuanchen Sect to pieces, all of them knew they had to deal with the threat before them before doing anything else. They poured the world origin they had towards the Xiangyang Holy Land without holding anything back.

The appearance of experts from the Spirit Abundance World clearly arrived to obstruct their plans.

Those 30 or so Martial Dipper Realm experts from the Azure Worlds left were at their limits. However, reinforcements were pouring in from the Spirit Abundance World and everyone who came next tried to stop the ascension of the Xiangyang Holy Land.

Anyone who was left in the new world due to their inability to leave their territory was called up and they joined forces in the Beyond Heavens Pavilion to give the experts of the Spirit Abundance World a rude awakening. They exerted their dominance by striking decisively. They managed to kill several and wound a few from the first batch, but the experts the Spirit Abundance World sent next were terrifying. There were at least 2 of them who were in the fourth element of the Martial Dipper Realm.

Those guarding the Beyond Heavens Pavilion weren’t exactly the strongest ones either. They could barely hold on by cooperating with each other to swarm their opponents.

It went without saying that the Spirit Abundance World made their preparations after setting their sights on the Azure Worlds. The experts of the second wave regrouped with the first and fought those from the Azure Worlds defending the Beyond Heavens Pavilion to a standstill. Profound lights emerged from the spatial tunnels again and the next batch of experts were about to pour into the sealed space.

A deep voice rang wearily above the Beyond Heavens Pavilion the next moment. “Fellow cultivators, haven’t all of us been hiding in our secret regions to make our move during critical times like this?”

The voice barely fell when a resplendent ray of light shot into the Beyond Heavens Pavilion. Even those in the sealed space 30000 miles away could see the strength of the light ray.

The faces of an expert in the third element of the Martial Dipper Realm from the Spirit Abundance World changed. He turned around and left behind a Fate Dipper Clone before retreating at the fastest speed possible.

As the ray of light faded, an elder whose head was filled with white hair revealed a resolute expression as he stared at the Fate Dipper Clone. He allowed the Fate Dipper Clone to approach and attack him as he chased after the fleeing cultivator. He ignored the attack and allowed one of his Fate Dipper Clones to shatter in his place while speeding towards the fleeing invader.

Now that things had reached that point, the expert from the Spirit Abundance World knew what the other party was trying to do. Realizing that he wouldn’t be able to dodge it, he turned to scream at the incoming cultivator. “You crazy asshole, do you really think you can drag me to death with you?!”

2 protection barriers intertwined as they slammed together heavily in the depths of space. A powerful shockwave filled the area and brilliant rays of light emerged. They seemed to have turned into a mini sun as the energy fluctuation eventually rocked the region. A massive crater seemed to appear in the Beyond Heavens Pavilion and it only restored itself after a long time.

Thousands of miles away from the Beyond Heavens Pavilion, a figure wobbled out from space with unsteady feet. He looked to be in an extremely haggard situation as he looked at the spot where the explosion happened earlier. He was the expert in the third element of the Martial Dipper Realm who was screaming earlier.

He wasn’t killed by the other party’s desperate detonation but his aura was extremely weak. He might not seem injured when he emerged, but from his rapidly fluctuating inner qi, one could tell that he was even weaker than Shang Bo and Ji Wenlong who had entered the Martial Dipper Realm not too long ago.

Even though he managed to narrowly avoid death, he sacrificed 2 Fate Dipper Clones in the process. His cultivation level dropped from the third element of the Martial Dipper Realm all the way back to the first.

Cursing his drop in level, he grumbled about his teammates in his heart. None of them tried to assist him in the critical moment. If they managed to stall the person who appeared for just a split second, he would have been able to deal with the situation in a much more appropriate manner. At the very least, he wouldn’t have suffered such serious injuries.

When he finally looked around, he discovered the reason why no one came to his aid. The same scene was playing out everywhere!

At least 5 experts in the Martial Dipper Realm appeared from nowhere before pouncing at their enemies with the intention of perishing together.

Those experts who appeared were either at the end of their lifespans and were forcefully holding on, or had all hopes of future cultivation severed. There were even those whose fate dippers were imbalanced. They were using vast resources from their Holy Lands in order to remain alive for a little longer.

Ordinarily, all of them were hiding in secret regions of their respective factions while struggling at death’s door. They had long since been forgotten by the outside world, and even disciples of their factions might not know who they were.

With the invasion of their world, all of them chose to play their part. Those who maintained a final burst of strength cashed it in before choosing to sacrifice themselves. They hoped they would be able to cause great damage to those from the Spirit Abundance World in exchange for their life!

Their sudden assault killed 2 experts at once. A second element Martial Dipper Realm expert from the Spirit Abundance World lost a Fate Dipper Clone and a third element Martial Dipper Realm expert lost 2 Fate Dipper Clones.

Unfortunately, their plan didn’t go without a hitch. One of the experts from the Azure Spiritual World failed to grasp the best timing and ran into an expert in the fourth element of the Martial Dipper Realm rushing over to support his fellow comrades. He was sent flying at the last moment and his target was saved.

Of the experts who rushed to the Beyond Heavens Pavilion first, 2 were killed while the others either lost Fate Dipper Clones or were injured.

The 6 from the second batch weren’t exactly spared either. 2 of them were killed while 2 more fell back to the first element of the Martial Dipper Realm.

There were only 10 experts from the Spirit Abundance World who went to the Beyond Heavens Pavilion left from their original 14. With the exception of the 2 who were in the fourth element of the Martial Dipper Realm, there were only 2 who maintained their combat strength in the third element of the Martial Dipper Realm. 2 more had cultivation levels at the second element while the remaining 4 had all regressed to cultivators at the first element of the Martial Dipper Realm
