Chapter 576: Shang Ke’s Guess

The Tongyou Island continued to sail towards their objective, albeit with a little difficulty. No one knew how long had passed, but they finally entered a clearing with no fragments to be seen. The dusky feeling that came from the endless space disappeared and everyone seemed to return to a region covered in sunlight.

“Is that where the Manyu Continent’s World’s Will is located? Why does it look like a giant sun? Could the World’s Will be the sun that illuminates the Manyu Continent?” Shang Ke asked.

Because Shang Ke, Shang Lubing, and Bu Jingshuang were from the same generation, they hung out with each other most of the time.

They stood at the front of the Tongyou Island and were the first ones who discovered the disappearance of the land fragments and the appearance of the World’s Will.

It was Shang Lubing and Bu Jingshuang’s first time seeing the World’s Will and they weren’t exactly a lot more knowledgeable than Shang Ke on the matter.

After hearing what he said, Shang Lubing laughed, “If that’s true, wouldn’t the suns that illuminate both our world and the Azure Spiritual World be the source of our World’s Will?”

Bu Jingshuang pressed his lips together and muttered, “That’s hard to say…”

Shang Ke seemed to have found some interest in the matter and he started to come up with random explanations. “That might actually be the case! Actually, do you think after the fusion of our worlds, we will have 2 suns and 2 moons in the sky?”

“Why did you bring the moon into this? Aren’t they just moons? Also, if the sun represents the World’s Will, what does the moon represent?” Shang Lubing asked.

His question brought about another good point.

.

However, Shang Ke completely ignored the question. Actually, he had no idea how to reply and he simply went back to his original point. “If the sun really is the World’s Will, then our suns would definitely have to fuse as well along with our worlds. There would still only be one sun in our new world…”

Bu Jingshuang stared at the source of the World’s Will that was emitting blinding rays of light before muttering to himself, “If it really is the sun, how are we going to get close? Aren’t we afraid of burning to death?”

“Old Man Shang, suppose you’re right. Where’s the Manyu Continent’s moon? We can’t just have the sun without the moon…” Shang Lubing added from the side.

Annoyed with Shang Lubing’s constant mention of the moon, Shang Ke sneered loudly, “How should I know? The Manyu Continent crumbled and is in countless pieces right now! Maybe the moon crumbled along with it!”

As the 3 of them carried out their questionable conversation that might or might not serve any purpose at all, 2 rays of light appeared from the central region of the island and quickly approached.

“Our competitors have already arrived. Tell everyone to make their preparations. The next step will be the key to how much we can gain from this.” Yun Jing mentioned as her figure appeared after the light dissipated. Shang Bo stepped out from the other ray of light but he turned to look at a certain spot in the void.

“Third Brother!” Shang Ke stared in the same direction as Shang Bo and noticed a dusky mass moving slowly. He couldn’t help but ask, “Is that also a floating island?”

Shang Bo nodded slightly and grunted once. Shang Lubing and Bu Jingshang also turned to look in the same direction.

“How far away are they? Why do I feel like something is not quite right?” Shang Lubing frowned.

“I wonder which faction they are? They seem to have already discovered our presence…” Bu Jingshuang muttered.

Shang Ke asked with a frown, “What should we do now? Are we going to push forward with everything we have or are we going to deal with them?”

A bitter smile appeared on Yun Jing’s face. “It won’t be that easy…”

Seeing the look of confusion on their faces, Yun Jing pointed at the empty space between them and the World’s Will before explaining, “You might not be able to tell, but Deputy Patriarch Shang and I can sense the region of shattered space before us. We have to traverse through the region of shattered space before we can approach the World’s Will.”

The faces of Shang Ke and the rest turned serious after hearing what Yun Jing said. They also realized why Yun Jing and Shang Bo would emerge from the core region of the island and command everyone to prepare themselves.

Multiple rays of light shot into the space above the island and it was clear that the dozens of experts left on the Tongyou Island had received their orders. They started to take action.

The protection barrier that used to only cover the core region of the island started to expand outwards. It didn’t take long for it to cover 800 miles around the center of the formation.

According to the Tongyou Institution’s initial plan, the protection formation would be activated during the critical moment and it would cover an area of 500 miles. Due to the fate dipper fragment shards Shang Xia provided, along with some assistance from the resources sent by Kou Chongxue and Ji Wenlong, they managed to increase it by 300 miles.

Walking beside Shang Bo, Shang Ke whispered softly, “Third Brother, the kid is still in seclusion. Should we notify him about this?”

Glancing at the small mountain Shang Xia made into his cultivation base, Shang Bo muttered softly, “There’s no need for that. With his current abilities, he’ll be able to learn of what is happening here if he wants to. There is no need for us to disturb him at the moment. He can step in after leaving seclusion…”

Shang Ke’s lips trembled slightly but he didn’t say anything.

Glancing at Shang Ke, Shang Bo asked, “What did you want to say?”

Looking all around and realizing that Yun Jing and the others had their attention somewhere else, he transmitted his voice directly into Shang Bo’s ears. “Third Brother, how far has Little Xia’s cultivation reached? I heard that even Ren Bainian would praise him from time to time. Even Yun Jing…”

Shang Bo signaled him with his eyes and Shang Ke immediately stopped talking.

Pausing for a second, Shang Bo seemed to have thought of how to explain things to his Fifth Brother. “He walked down a path different from everyone else. Moreover, it seems as though he managed to succeed. Do you know what this represents?”

Shang Ke felt his mouth going dry and he tried to moisten it with his saliva before choking slightly, “Has he already reached that step? If he truly succeeds… How long has it been since he entered the Martial Extermination Realm anyway?! The moment he catches the attention of someone he shouldn’t… What did Kou Chongxue say about it too? He should be the one allowing everything to happen, right? He definitely knows what’s going on and he even allowed the kid to do as he wished. If anyone plans to harm Little Xia, will he make a move and help the child?”

“Of course he will. However, he has to put the Tongyou Institution and the You Continent before everything else. I am no different. We can help him out to the best of our abilities, but he has to rely on himself at the end of the day!” Shang Bo sighed.

Widening his eyes in shock, Shang Ke growled, “You guys… But! But you’re his grandfather!”

“Be careful! There’s danger approaching ten miles away!” Yun Jing’s yell interrupted the conversation between the two brothers.

Turning around instantly, Shang Ke noticed that both Shang Lubing and Bu Jingshuang had already flown out into space.

Shang Lubing was the first to act as his extermination origins poured out from his body. A giant ice wall that was several miles long started to erect itself in space. Before it could extend for more than 4 miles, cracks in space caused the ice wall to shatter.

“Shattered space… Here!” Shang Lubing tapped the void before him and transformed the shards of ice floating about into a stream of icy extermination qi. It froze the space that was filled with cracks.

Bu Jingshuang also made his move and made a seal with his hands before pushing it forward slightly. The frozen space turned into powdery snow that quickly dissipated.
