"You fucking beasts are the issue, ain't you?" Kyle grumbled as his hand reached out rapidly.
He activated his wind affinity and a huge claw of wind formed around his hand lunging at an invisible beast.
Only through his nurture ability's sight was it possible for him to 'see' the hues around the beasts. They were tiny lizards with silver scales and a single golden antenna protruding out of their forehead.
It looked weird but Kyle ignored their appearance as the wind claw was closed shut at once. Blood spurted out of the wind claw and Kyle smiled in satisfaction.
However, his eyes widened in shock when he realized that the beast's soul didn't detach from the corpse that fell to the ground when Kyle opened the wind claw.
He twisted his body instinctively as he sensed something to his right. He created winds to blast straight into his stomach just to push him a tiny bit aside. Kyle didn't like pain, let alone injure himself but he needed the slight push to survive as the supposedly dead lizard appeared out of nowhere with a rapid speed.
It nearly hit him and slashed open his guts. Only the wind blast he delivered to himself rescued him.
"Spiral path!" He exclaimed gritting his teeth. The lizard was a beast following the spiral path, and it was especially good at creating life-like illusions. Even the lizard's body felt real when he squeezed it. Everyone would have believed that he killed it, even Kyle as the beast's blood had been warm and the resistance he sensed while mashing the body was also real.
But it had appeared next to him, nearly killing Kyle, who was lucky to have recognized the missing soul.
The Starbreaker Katana manifested in Kyle's hand when he slashed out with his empty hand. The Sudden appearance of a razor-sharp katana astonished the illusory beast but it simply disappeared right in front of Kyle's eyes as if it never existed.
Kyle was not able to sense its spirit force and even the nurture ability's sight didn't work properly. This had never happened until now.
Thus, Kyle ignored the illusory beast for a moment as he pushed his feet from the ground creating deep imprints on the wet ground wherever he stepped on.
The winds around him pushed him ahead with a terrifying force, which was how Kyle could pass through his people within a second.
He touched them once with the activated nurture ability to force them out of the illusion they seemed to have been caught.
However, just when Kyle thought that their chances to win against the sole illusory beast, Kyle realized that he made one big mistake.
"Just how many are there? I thought it was only one!!" He exclaimed the moment he perceived a total of 10 illusory beasts around him.
They supported each other with their spirit force, creating a multi-layered illusion. That was how Kyle was incapable of doing anything against the first illusory beast he encountered.
However, with the help of his own people, things looked differently. Yasmine's eyes glowed brightly when she regained her senses.
Fury could be seen within them as her head flicked in a particular direction. All the illusory beasts had disappeared from Kyle's sight. But this didn't mean that Yasmine was not able to see them either.
She stared daggers in a particular direction and turned into a flamethrower as both of her arms were shrouded in flames that shot out in the direction she looked. Painful squeals filled the air and Kyle could see the body of one illusory beast.
It was burning and in unbearable pain. Kyle didn't know mercy and his eyes turned red in fury when he saw that both Selene and Jaden were attacked. They hadn't been able to evade the attacks and got injured. Selene's arm was scratched and Jaden's tight was torn open.
Their expression in pain was imprinted in Kyle's mind and without him realizing both Aurora and Arashi were working with him together.
"Even if I cannot sense you guys, I can still feel your weight when I throw you in the air!" Kyle shouted out as he controlled the winds in his surrounding.
A raging storm was brewing, Aurora's Sprite Armor manifested, and the trees around Kyle were shaking. Some bushed were pulled out of the ground, while the seemingly ancient trees remained rooted in the ground.
Not even the winds of an Acerta stage beast could uproot these trees, so Kyle had no chance to achieve the feat that ought to be impossible for most beasts in the surrounding.
It was only fortunate that Kyle's plan had never been to uproot the trees or the plants in his surrounding area. Rather, it was far more important for him to lift everything 'light' in the area around him. When he sensed the wind resistance and the weight of the illusory beasts that he couldn't see, his eyes gleamed bright as Arashi fired dozens of huge wind blades at once.
Arashi was currently inside Kyle's soul vessel but that didn't hinder him from attacking the beasts, who had injured Jaden and Selene. Arashi's rage was unfathomable and Kyle quickly realized that the bestial instincts were about to overtake him.
The Spirit Soul's instinctive protective behavior clearly influenced Kyle but that was not something he would ever reject. He accepted it and chose to fight together with Arashi.
Hundreds of wind blades manifested out of nowhere, attacking every single spot where they perceived a slightly higher wind resistance than they were supposed to feel in that area.
The entire surrounding area turned into a field overflowing with wind blades that shot in all directions. Blood and body parts flew through the air but Kyle never stopped attacking. He had yet to see the first soul detaching from any of the bodies that were flung around.
Even if his nurture ability's sight was not able to break the illusory spell, he could still see the souls of the deceased, meaning that not a single beast in his surrounding died.
However, when Yasmine joined the attacks as well the entire situation changed. Squeals of pain filled the air once again and the first soul appeared in Kyle's sight when a fireball exploded at the exact location dozens of Arashi's wind blades had cut through.
'How the hell??' Kyle wondered but he didn't think more about it. Only when Beatrice and Selene started to fight as well, killing the first beasts around Kyle did he realize that something was wrong with him!
"How did I not realize anything?" He blurted out while using the Nurture ability on himself once again. At that moment he noticed that a total of 10 souls were ascending in the air, that Arashi's three tails restricted Kyle's movements and that the three women were standing in front of him, ready to use violence to force him to get back to his senses.
"Calm down girls, I'm back!!"
Unfortunately, it was already too late. Their attacks landed on Kyle's body and he was flung through the air. His body smashed in the nearest tree where he slumped to the ground with a grim face.
"Girls…a gentle and loving touch would have been much better…"
