Within seconds, it was clear how the battle would turn out. Without external intervention, Elliot’s wolves could at maximum hold out for another minute or so before they were completely wiped out.
Elliot was torn by the desire to enter battle to help his wolves while he still had the chance, and to remain with his sisters just in case a few wolves peeled away from the battle to target them.
“What should I do?” He cried out in his heart.
Though still very young, they instinctively understood that if they didn’t fight at that moment, they would lose their only chance to do so once their wolf brothers were defeated.
With her great agility and stealth, Rex sneaked up behind a particularly nasty looking wolf which was biting one of Elliot’s wolves and pounced on its head, causing it to quickly let go of its victim to snap at Rex.
Distracted by Rex’s sudden sneak attack, it failed to notice that there was another little beast also targeting it. Ellie rushed in behind Rex and bit the wolf’s rear foot with her venomous bite, immediately releasing large amounts of venom into it!
AWOOOOO!!
The wolf howled in pain as Ellie’s powerful and fast acting venom coursed through its body and dealt an enormous amount of damage to him.
Seeing an opening, Rex immediately went for its throat and gave it a powerful slash!
Blood spurted out of its neck wound, and within seconds, it was dead.
[Rex has gained 4 levels for killing a level 15 wolf.]
[Ellie has gained 4 levels for killing a level 15 wolf.]
Because they were only at level 1, killing one level 15 wolf immediately propelled them to level 5, causing them both to grow slightly in size.
By that time, however, five of Elliot’s eleven wolves and two of his hawks were dead. Only six wolves and one hawk remained.
On the enemy’s side, only four had died including the one which Ellie and Rex killed. They still had sixteen wolves.
“Brother! We have to join the fight!” Jessica said urgently. “If we don’t then we’ll lose the chance to turn the battle around, and we would be just waiting to die!”
“Yes brother! Let us fight!” Jennifer cried out in agreement with Jessica.
Elliot looked at his sisters’ expressions which contained a mix of fear, excitement and determination, and realized that they were right.
“Alright, follow closely behind me! We’ll attack them from the side!” Elliot quickly came to a decision.
Elliot led his sisters to the very edge of the battle and charged at three wolves which were about to finish off one of his wolves. freew(e)bnovel
“HAIYAA!” Elliot jabbed the fiery end of his staff powerfully towards one of the wolves.
BAM!
By merit of his extra-powerful physique, the speed of his jab took the wolf completely by surprise and Elliot scored a paralyzing hit as his staff smashed into the wolf’s head!
Behind him, the two girls immediately attacked the paralyzed wolf with all of their meager strength and managed to finish it off!
[Congratulations, You have levelled up to level 15!]
“Dump all my points into strength!” Elliot yelled as he went on to attack the two wolves which had pulled back warily. However, their job was done and Elliot’s wolf lay dead on the ground.
“Thank goodness they are merely summons and can be summoned again soon.” Elliot muttered to himself as he glanced quickly at his mangled and very dead wolf, feeling a slight pang of sadness in his heart.
GRAR!!
The two wolves snarled and immediately charged at Elliot the moment they saw him glance distractedly at his wolf!
Thankfully, Elliot’s reaction speed was above average. He was able to quickly dodge one wolf’s attack and meet the other with a quick and powerful jab into its mouth!
BAM!
With an additional 1 full point in strength, Elliot’s jab became so powerful that it pierced through the back of the wolf’s throat, rendering it ineffective for the rest of the battle.
He whirled around to face the other wolf and made it just in time to parry its leap attack with his staff. However, the wolf’s sharp claws still scored hits on his body.
Slash! Slash!
“Arghh!” Elliot screamed in pain! He quickly dropped his staff, grabbed the wolf’s neck and squeezed with all his might!
Crack!
“Huh?” Elliot was surprised when the wolf’s neck broke easily. He was definitely not used to being so powerful!
Elliot quickly dropped the wolf and looked for his sisters.
To his great surprise, his two sisters were already ganging up on a wolf and beating it up with their staffs nearby.
“Take that you evil wolf!” Jessica cried as she smashed her staff down on the wolf’s head!
“Eat my staff! Haiyaaaa!” Jennifer cried as she jabbed at the wolf’s chest!
True, they were merely helping out one of Elliot’s wolves which was being ganged up by two wolves, and thus were able to land a few critical hits on their victim before it turned around to face them seriously, which was already too late by then. But it was still impressive nonetheless.
Two twelve year old girls beating up a savage wolf! How cool is that?

On the other side of the battlefield, Ellie and Rex were having an equally incredible fight.
They got to level five after killing their first wolf, and experienced a spike in power and speed which made their subsequent kills much easier and much faster.
Rex quickly went into stealth once more after slashing the first wolf’s throat and sneaked up behind another wolf which was about to land a killing blow on its victim.
POUNCE! Rex leapt and bit the wolf’s neck with all of its strength! It wasn’t enough to break the wolf’s neck, but her sharp fangs managed to pierce into the wolf’s neck and rupture its windpipe.
BITE! Ellie quickly followed up by a poisonous bite which quickly killed it.
