278- Irrelevant People (不相干的人)

Jing Yun Zhao had seen the stone flying towards her, but she didn’t move to dodge, letting it hit her directly in the middle of her forehead. Blood started to flow down her face in an instant.

The sight of blood gave everyone a scare, especially the main culprit, who panicked and immediately tried to blend into the crowd.

“Yun Zhao, why didn’t you...” Dodge?

Xiao Hai Qing watched her best friend in shock.

However, she understood what Jing Yun Zhao’s purpose was when she thought about it. The injury wasn’t severe, but it was in a very conspicuous place, so everyone who looked at her would be visually and mentally affected. The Jing family knew how to use the tactic of injuring themselves to gain pity, and Jin Yun Zhao knew how to do it too. Letting herself get hurt now would let those people find out sooner than later how stupid they were behaving. By then, the crowd would be supporting her, and the fraudulent Jing family would lose even more of their standing.

Still, our family’s Jing Yun Zhao is so pitiful. She obviously hasn’t done anything wrong, but she had to be besieged and trampled on like this.

Jing Yun Zhao touched the injury on her forehead before she took out a wet tissue to wipe off the blood stained onto it.

“Knee to the heavens, kneel the earth, and kneel to one’s parents; I haven’t done anything wrong, why should I have to kneel to these irrelevant people?” her usual chilly calmness remained in Jing Yun Zhao’s voice, powerful and resonating.

“Jing Yun Zhao, aren’t they your parents?” The reporter was shaking his head internally, this Jing Yun Zhao, it can’t be that she’s gone off her rockers?

The person in mention suddenly laughed, her blood stained face looking incomparably tragic. The crowd were all on their toes with how penetrating her gaze had become. It pulled on their heartstrings, unable to withstand even a single blow. “How are they suddenly my parents? Just look at us, where are we even alike?” she voiced.

“Haven’t seen one another in more than a decade, and suddenly someone pops out of nowhere in the middle of a street, can they really be my parents?”

“They’ve forced me into this state, to get me down on my knees and beg for forgiveness in front of so many people; is that something parents would do? Yes, I’m a parentless child, but I don’t lack love. If just about anyone can call themselves my parents, then do I have to call every elder I come across Mom and Dad in the future? I’ll be quite busy, then,” Jing Yun Zhao lightly hummed.

“Xiao Yun! We really are! Have you forgotten? We went to do a paternity test, you’ve seen it before! The result...” Wang Xin Fang frantically pulled out the paternity test certificate from her chest, obviously prepared.

Instantly, the results were revealed right in front of the cameras. It even showed which hospital’s seal was on it.

Written on it was Jing Yun Zhao’s name, and the results too were clear cut.

The reporter despised her even more in his heart.

Things have already gotten this far, but Jing Yun Zhao still refuses to admit it. I’ve never seen such a thick skinned 1 girl. But thinking about the couple still kneeling beside him, the reporter wore an expression of benevolence and helped them up.

“Auntie Wang, Uncle Jing, everyone here knows that you’re the victim. You must be very heartbroken that your daughter turned out like this, right?” the reporter held the mic and asked.

Wang Xin Fang was a little nervous, but when she thought about how she would receive a huge sum of money in her account soon, she bounced back again. Undisturbed, she lamented,“That’s of course. These days, my husband and I can’t eat and can’t sleep. Sometimes we think, if only we didn’t recognise her on the streets back then...” (Kyo: bruh you’ve got your priorities wrong)

“I believe you must love your daughter very much, that’s why you could recognise her at a glance...” the reporter continued.

“Yes, yes. Although it’s been more than a decade, she looks just like she did when she was young. When I saw her, my tears wouldn’t stop flowing, so I boosted up my courage and went to her. But if I had known earlier it would become like this, then I shouldn’t have...” Wang Xin Fang sighed. ((Kyo: random but ‘If only’s are useless, “if only anyone knew, they would have become a billionaire”)

“Auntie Wang, you can’t say it like that. It’s only natural for parents to look for their children, plus I remember it was also mentioned in the post that your daughter was abandoned by your mother-in-law. She’d only been a newborn baby then, you must have been very heartbroken. It’s really been hard on you these years...” the reporter spoke with hot-blooded righteous intentions.
