Chapter 375: I Wish That From Now On, My Qing Bao Would Give Me A Little Tiger Every Year For My Birthday

Song Chuyi rubbed his glabella. Changqing answered the question on his behalf. “We wanted to move after the baby was a month old initially, but my dad was worried that I couldn’t handle it on my own and didn’t feel reassured with the new Auntie. Since there are many people at home, he, Auntie Shen, and Auntie Zhang can take care of the baby, so... my dad insisted that we should only move over after Yan Wo starts walking.”

Song Zhengru nodded and reckoned that Yan Lei probably couldn’t bear to part with his grandson as well. It was true—no one would dislike a cute child, just like the two from the Song Household who kept talking about the child in her belly. Early this morning, the old grandmother even called to ask him if Chuyi invited him for dinner today for his birthday.

“Chuyi, did Changqing give you anything for your birthday today?” Siyao suddenly asked with a smile.

Song Chuyi glanced at Changqing, who was snacking on nuts at the side, “I didn’t see any presents.” There was nothing after that kiss in the morning which she called his birthday present.

Changqing stuck out her tongue and said while caressing her stomach, “My preset is here. Isn’t it big enough?”

“It is pretty big.” Zhan Mingwei nodded as he tried to hold back his laughter.

The dishes were served successively. Song Chuyi stood up and scooped a bowl of nutritious soup for Changqing. The soup was aromatic and thick. Changqing finished a bowl and ate several other dishes. After that, Song Chuyi helped her scoop a bowl of rice and she finished it too, continuing to eat non-stop.

Song Chuyi chatted with Zhan Mingwei and the rest. After a while, he turned his head back and saw that her mouth had basically not closed at all, hence, he reminded her with a frown, “Eat less.”

Li Shaobin laughed out loud. “Old Song, who would ask their wives to eat less? Just let her have more since she likes it. I know what it is—do you think she’s getting fat?”

Upon hearing that, Changqing lifted her head and said with her oily lips, “Alright, so you find me fat now, huh?”

“I don’t. I’m just afraid you’ll eat too much and stuff our child.” Song Chuyi glared at Li Shaobin. One day, he’d have to sew up that mouth that would only bring chaos.

“It’s alright, it’s okay to let her eat a little more,” Song Qiaoqiao’s mother said with a smile. “Eat more and you might give birth to a fat and healthy baby.”

“That’s right; a fat baby is cute.” Seeing that everyone was siding with her, Changqing continued to eat her chicken wings while gloating.

Song Chuyi shook his head helplessly and let her continue eating.

...

After dinner, when they walked out of the suite, they suddenly saw Grandma Song standing there, waiting at the door. When she saw him coming out, she quickly walked over with a smile. “Chuyi, happy birthday. Grandma has been waiting here for you for a long time.”

Song Chuyi glanced at the benevolent smile of the white-haired old lady and felt hot inside. Although his grandma was a little selfish, she had really doted on him ever since he was young. He sighed inside. “What are you doing here?”

“Grandma heard from your Fourth Uncle that you were having dinner here, so I thought to bring you your birthday gift.” Grandma Song handed him a long box. “Grandma asked your Third Uncle to get you a watch from overseas. You have to wear it.”

“... Alright.” Song Chuyi couldn’t bear to see her go home alone. “I’ll take you back.”

“Sure, sure, sure.” Grandma Song was elated.

Song Chuyi drove while Changqing and Grandma Song sat in the backseat. Throughout the journey, Grandma Song chatted merrily while caressing Changqing’s stomach and laying on her stomach to listen from time to time. She was so happy that she couldn’t stop smiling.

When they arrived at the entrance of the Song’s Villa, Song Chuyi got out to open the car door and help the old lady out. Grandma Song said hesitantly, “Chuyi, why don’t you go in and take a seat? You and your brother haven’t been back in a long time and it’s so much lonelier at home. Actually, your dad misses you two quite a lot. This morning, he even specifically asked me about the date. Actually, I know he remembers it’s your birthday.”

“I won’t be going in.” Song Chuyi smiled slightly. Every time he stepped foot into this house, he would be reminded of the coldness from the past. “Rest up earlier.”

“When the baby is born, you must let me take a look at him.” Grandma Song repeated several times before slowly walking into the courtyard.

After he got back into the car, Changqing lamented, “Actually, I’m not angry at your family members. It’s okay if you want to contact them. I found her quite pitiful when I saw your grandma like that just now.”

“Mm.” Song Chuyi replied softly with a nonchalant face even until the end, making it hard for her to guess what was on his mind.

When they returned to the Yan Household, Changqing lay sprawled on the couch the moment she entered. She felt a little bloated, perhaps because she ate too much for dinner.

Song Chuyi went upstairs to shower first. Halfway through, he received a phone call from a foreign city.

He was stunned for a while and sensed something. He reached out and picked up the call. “Hello...”

It was silent on the other side for a very long time before the familiar voice belonging to Song Chulang was heard: “Chuyi, happy birthday.”

Song Chuyi turned off the showerhead and leaned against the wall. The water droplets on his hair dripped onto his exquisite face. After a while, he squeezed out complicatedly, “Thank you.””

It seemed as though they hadn’t been in contact for almost a year. He recalled in the past, Song Chulang would always think of ways to give him various types of presents from cars to expensive watches and even cufflinks on his birthday. Song Chulang was always willing to spend money on him. “Where are you now?”

“I’m in Germany.” Song Chulang’s voice was faint and indistinct, as though it was coming from the distance. “I just saw Yunyang and her husband from afar. She’s pregnant. She went to the supermarket with her husband. They go on morning runs together, go to work together, and at night, they take walks together...”

Song Chuyi rubbed his glabella. He didn’t know that Yunyang was actually living such a blissful life. After attending her wedding, he only sent her the occasional text. Right, it was his birthday today. She also called him early in the morning.

He should be happy, but upon hearing this from Song Chulang, it somehow made him feel sad.

He could tell that Song Chulang must’ve been following the couple for a period of time.

“They’re very blissful, right?” Song Chulang asked.

“Mm,” Song Chuyi responded softly.

“I now believe that aside from you, there really can be someone else who can live that blissfully with Yunyang.” Song Yunyang laughed softly. “I only came to look at her. To see if she could still be so blissful. I was afraid she had settled in this marriage, but I think I was wrong.”

“I’ve said it before—Yunyang wants a home. Whether or not the man of the house is someone she loves doesn’t matter. What’s important is that the person loves her a lot,” Song Chuyi said helplessly. “It’s time you walk away.”

“I know. I thought I knew Yunyang very well. Perhaps I didn’t know her at all,” Song Chulang said. “I intend to leave Germany tomorrow and travel around. I apologize for what I did in the past.”

“... Mm.” Song Chuyi didn’t say that he forgave Song Chulang, but he also didn’t say that he didn’t forgive him.

“Goodbye.”

“Goodbye.”

He put his phone down and stood quietly under the showerhead with the water running for more than 20 minutes before coming out.

“Happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you.” In the dark room, only a few candles were lit. Changqing walked over to him slowly with a cute little tiger cake in her hands. There were a few candles on the cake and she was wearing a party hat on her head, her chubby face smiling sweetly.

Song Chuyi was stunned.

Changqing walked to him and raised her head as she tiptoed and kissed him on his cheek. “Chuchu, happy birthday, This is the first birthday I’ve spent with you. I hope I will be the one with you for your subsequent birthdays.”

Song Chuyi lowered his head and looked into her bright and dazzling amorous eyes. He felt his heart skip a beat and his chest heated up. “Just a cake?”

“What do you mean? Aren’t you satisfied with my cake?” Changqing pouted. “I’m a nine-month pregnant lady singing a birthday song to you. What else do you want? Don’t push your luck.”

“Don’t you find this cake a little too childish? It’s not even for Yan Wo,” Song Chuyi said.

“What’s so bad about a little tiger? It’s so cute. I want you to be my little tiger for the rest of my life.” Changqing lifted her head. Her eyes were clear and her voice was soft.

Song Chuyi’s heart almost melted. “I know you like little tigers a lot. Should I wear that little tiger underwear you picked for me tonight? But isn’t it getting old? You should consider getting me a new one.”

“You’re so disgusting. Gangster.” Changqing glared at him. She lowered her head and looked at the cute little tiger cake in her hands. Suddenly, she found it revolting. “I can’t bring myself to eat it. Have it yourself.”

She passed the cake to him after saying that.

Song Chuyi smiled slightly. He lowered his head to blow the candles out after making a wish.

“What wish did you make?” Changqing asked.

“I wish that from now on, my Qing Bao will give me a little tiger every year for my birthday.” Song Chuyi laughed softly.

Changqing thought for a while. “A little tiger cake.”

“If not? Little tiger underwear?” Song Chuyi teased.

“Can’t be bothered with you.” Changqing snorted and turned away.

Song Chuyi took a bite of the cake. Changqing came over again with a dark blue wallet. “The wallet I gave you last year is getting a little old; here’s a new one.”

Song Chuyi opened it up and indeed, there laid a new selfie of his wife. This time, it was a selfie of her pouting and acting cute. He laughed and said, “How fake. Your face is way rounder in real life.”

“So? Do you have a problem with that?” Changqing raised her brows. “If you don’t like it, I’ll give it to Brother Fu Yu.”

“You dare?” Song Chuyi quickly tucked away the wallet. How dare she mention Fu Yu again. She must be tired of living.
