323 322: Dance With This Old Man
(Back At The Abandoned Warehouse)
"What is this absurdity?"
Kane's shocked voice filled the air as he looked in the direction of Corey and Dante.
"Who is he?"
Zephyr asked with a deep frown while looking at Old Man Poison.
So many questions and thoughts went through his mind as he could not even begin to comprehend how a tier 2 was able to move so fast and, at the same time, forcefully lift a tier 4.
Before they entered the abandoned warehouse, they had been observing Rosa, Fatty Black Bonez, and the rest.
Although they knew their targets were not weak, especially Rosa, who was most likely to give them issues, they were highly confident that they could kill all of them and finally complete theission.
When they were about to attack the group, four unknown variables appeared.
Two tier 4s, a tier 2, and a tier 0.
When Zephyr saw the three unknown individuals enter the warehouse, he was surprised and confused by two things.
One, the two tier 4s were walking behind the tier 2.
Two, his instincts warned him that the tier 2 was more dangerous than the two tier 4s.
When Zephyr noticed these two things, he was highly perplexed.
He could not comprehend why two tier 4s would follow a tier 2 like he was their leader, nor did he understand why his instincts would tell him that a tier 2 was more dangerous than two tier 4s.
He eventually came to two conclusions after briefly thinking about it.
His first conclusion was that the tier 2 was from a top-tier faction like them, and the two tier 4s were like bodyguards.
His second conclusion was that the tier 2 had a powerful artifact which was probably given to him by his faction.
None of his conclusions was a good sign for him because if possible, he did not want to start a fight with another top tier faction.
Their House of Hellfire already had their hands full with the House of Divine and other top factions. So, if possible, he did not want to be the cause of a fight with another top faction.
Although his instincts told him that the tier 2 was more dangerous than any other individual in the abandoned warehouse and they should kill him before any other target, Zephyr decided to go against his instincts and he chose to kill Rosa, the Blood Berserker instead.
His plan was to kill Rosa and her group members, then talk to the enigmatic tier 2. He told Lilith who possessed a high talent in archery and who only misses once in a blue moon, to kill Rosa and not touch the tier 2.
But, to his extreme shock, the tier 2 moved Rosa's head out of the way before Lilith's arrow could end her life.
Zephyr did not know if it was that the tier 2 possessed an extremely high perception or it was the work of the supposed powerful artifact. So many ideas and thoughts ran through his head and it frustrated him greatly.
When he asked who Corey was, he genuinely wanted to know. But, Corey dismissively ignored him and instead assigned roles to Rosa and the rest.
The tier 2 always behaved like he was above all of them, and he also acted like none of them was a threat to him.
To even make it worse, the tier 2 said he was going to take on one of his group members like he was nothing. Like they were nothing.
It was quite… infuriating.
To his surprise, Rosa was much stronger than he anticipated and due to his mistake, he lost Lilith.
Although he could have helped her, he never expected Rosa to overwhelm Lilith so much and to be so decisive.
He thought the fight would take a much longer time. And when he tried to help Lilith, he knew, he just knew that he would be stopped by Rosa's teammates.
It was a mistake on his part and his cautious nature caused the death of Lilith.
He thought maybe if he had chosen to act instead of stayed, he could have saved Lilith even at the cost of a serious injury.
Although, he somewhat regretted the decision he made, he was happy Rosa could no longer fight because the strength she showed could even threaten him.
Just when he thought that he would not get anymore surprises, the tier 2 unleashed a skill which made him move at the speed of lightning and to his shock, he grabbed Dante and lifted him up.
A tier 2 moving so fast to the point that a tier 4 could not react.
Not only that, the tier 2 lifted the tier 4 easily!
Zephyr was extremely shocked by this, and as he watched the tier 2's extremely fast reaction to Dante's explosion, Zephyr came to a conclusion that the tier 2 was definitely not a tier 2.
He was definitely not a tier 2 and was definitely a tier 3.
No tier 2 could be as strong as Corey was.
'I'll kill this old man, then I'll kill that… fraudster.'
Zephyr thought as he calmly observed Old Man Poison who was holding a staff with a green orb.
BANG!
"What the?"
Zephyr cursed as he felt the ground tremble. He looked at the source and his eyes widened when he saw a gigantic hand of bones throw a fist at Kane which threw him out of the completely destroyed building.
Whoosh!
Zephyr felt the wind stir behind him and a sword made of flames manifested in his right hand in less than a second.
Clang!
"Now that the young ones are gone. How about you have a dance to the death with this old man?"
Old man poison said as he pushed his staff unto the flaming sword with a light smile on his face.
Zephyr scoffed and was about to give a reply. But, he felt something and his expression drastically changed.
