Chapter 281 280: Choices

The first screen Corey looked at was the screen that contained the basic clear rewards for his ascension to tier 2.

He had to choose between Toxic Familiar, Virulent Veil, Venomous Conjuration, Poison Bomb, Venomous Shield, and Miasmic Wind.

Just from the name, Toxic Familiar was an extremely useful skill that could be used in numerous ways.

In situations where there was no way for him to communicate with somebody, the skill could come in handy. Also, he could use the skill to spy on whomever he wished.

Although, the skill was not an offensive skill, it was still a skill that was extremely useful.

The next skill was Virulent Veil which was an offensive skill that used mist. From the description, the skill did not seem to possess a very high attack power, and Corey had a feeling that he could reciprocate the skill using his Fog Manipulation and Poison Manipulation which he already planned on choosing.

Venomous Conjuration was another skill that used summons, but just like Virulent Veil, Corey guessed that the attack power of the summons would be weak.

Poison bomb was the only skill that Corey could say would have a high attack power, and it was a skill which would definitely improve Corey's lack of long-ranged skills.

The next skill was a skill called Venomous Shield. This skill was a defensive skill with a sort of attacking properties.

The skill used poisons to create a shield, and Corey was not really interested in the skill since he had the Hexagon Barrier skill.

The last skill under the basic rewards was a skill called Miasmic Wind. The skill gave him the ability to make toxic whirlwinds, or in simpler words. It would give Corey the ability to make a certain part of the air poisonous.

As Corey looked at the six skills of the basic rewards, he did not rashly make a decision. Instead, he decided to look at the SSS skill rewards.

Poison Revitalization, Poison Manipulation, Plague Whispering, Poisonous Mimicry, and Toxic Infusion

The first skill under the SSS skill rewards was Poison Revitalization. The skill basically allowed Corey to use poisons to heal himself.

In normal situations, the skill was an extremely useful skill that most individuals would definitely choose. But, Corey had a self-healing skill, and he also had a feeling that his self-healing skill, Dream Healing, was much better than the Poison Revitalization skill.

Deciding to ignore the Poison Revitalization skill, Corey looked at the next skill which he had already set his heart from the moment he saw it.

Poison Manipulation.

No explanation was needed for the skill since the name said it all.

The skill had massive potential, and the only thing that would limit the strength of the skill would be Corey's proficiency with the skill, his tier, and his imagination.

This skill was a skill Corey had already decided to choose no matter what.

The next skill was a very interesting skill, Plague Whispering. This skill gave him the ability to command swarms of venomous insects, and he could also cause diseases with a gesture.

The part of the skill that made Corey's eyes shine was the venomous insects. He had some really dangerous ideas on how to use the skill, and due to this, the skill became one of the potential skills he might choose.

The next skill was Poisonous Mimicry.

Corey never knew that a skill like Poisonous Mimicry could exist, and it intrigued him slightly.

The ability to temporarily adopt the traits of venomous creatures was an intriguing ability, but Corey knew that the chances of him picking the skill was low.

The last skill was Toxic Infusion which would give Corey the ability to channel poisons into his weapons.

As Corey looked at all the skills, Corey took a deep breath then he chose.

The first skill he chose was The Poison Manipulation skill.

The reason?

Because it was the skill with the highest potential.

The second skill he chose was Plague Whispering

The reason?

Only he knew.

After Corey chose the two skills which were from the 'SSS Clear Rewards', the translucent screen disappeared.

Although, he wanted to choose Toxic Infusion, the appearance of the Poison Manipulation skill made Corey believe that he could definitely recreate a skill like the Toxic Infusion skill.

As for Plague Whispering, Corey doubted Poison Manipulation would be able to give him the ability to control a swarm of poisonous insects.

Corey then shifted his attention to the Basic Clear Rewards.

The first skill he chose was Toxic Familiar.

And the second was Miasmic Wind.

After Corey chose the two skills, the translucent screen disappeared, and Corey exhaled softly.

He decided to call up his status window so as to see the changes in it.

"Status."
