Chapter 233 232: Have You Ever?

[A/N: Mana veins are the same thing as meridians. Sorry for the inconvenience.]

A week passed after Corey, Divine, Rosa, and Fatty Black Bonez completed the death race. Unsurprisingly, they were the only ones to finish the race, and the group received strange stares from some Underworld officials who knew that the death race was not meant to be passed.

After they heard from Divine that completing the death race was not meant to happen, they all had solemn expressions and wondered why The Clown would create a game that was not meant to be passed.

Divine told them to remain alert in case The Clown decides to kill them in secret. Corey asked why The Clown would want to kill them, and Divine said: "Common sense does not apply to The Clown."

Remembering the words spoken by Divine, Corey released a sigh as he lay on his bed in his 'home.'

'Even if I don't get attacked by The Clown, I don't think I can defend myself from any tier 2 being.'

'A powerful tier 1 might even kill me.'

Despite a week having gone by, Corey's injuries to his meridians and poison infinity crystal had not healed. Although he could use mana, the amount he could use to not put a massive strain on his meridians and poison infinity crystal was just 5%.

According to Nina, his actions were so stupid to the point that she was so dumbfounded by the sheer amount of his stupidity and courageousness.

She told him that if not for his Paragon body and his poison infinity crystal, he would be a dead man by now.

lightsΝοvεl ?οm The mere act of trying to store a finger that contained an iota of the spirit of a being way above the mystic realm.

The main reason Corey's injury was so serious was because the spirit in the finger fought against the suction from Corey's Tri-Pupil Eyes.

Even without the presence of the spirit, Corey would still have gotten injured, but his injury would never be as severe as it currently was.

When he asked Nina how long it would take for his injuries to heal fully, she told him three months.

Corey could not wait for three months, and when he asked if there was a faster way for him to heal up, she told him there were three ways.

First, he could look for a talented healer who could at least heal his meridians. When his meridians are healed, he can use his mana to increase the recovery rate of his poison infinity crystal.

Second, he finds a healing pill or elixir that could at least heal his meridians.

Third, he finds a medicinal plant that could at least cure his damaged meridians.

When Corey heard the two solutions, he almost coughed out blood in anger.

Nina obviously knew that finding a talented healer who was not affiliated with any organization of the Underworld was most likely impossible if he decided to ask a healer from an organization to heal him. Who knows the price he might pay to the healer and organization?

As for the second, where in the world did Nina expect him to find a healing pill or elixir? Only alchemists could produce healing pills and elixirs that could cure damaged meridians. And he was 99% certain that there was no alchemist in the Underworld.

In the case of a medicinal plant, Corey did not know how Nina expected him to find a medicinal plant in the Underworld. It would have to depend on luck, and he doubted that such a valuable medicinal plant would not be in the hands of one of the top organizations.

Due to all of these, Corey had not gone out of his home for the past seven days. He had been thinking of ways to accelerate his recovery rate.

He had even asked if the finger would be helpful, but Nina scoffed and told him that he needed his meridians to absorb the energy from the finger. She said to him that if he dared to absorb the energy from the finger with his current condition, he was going to die a pitiful and popcorn-watching death.

The day Corey heard Nina's words, he resigned himself to fate. He had already decided not to come out from his residence until his body was fully healed up.

He had quite a lot of value points from his rising drug empire and the reward for completing the death race, so he didn't need to worry about value points.

However, there was one thing he was a little bit concerned about.

The absence of his roommate, Justin.

For a long time now, Corey had not seen Justin, and he could not help but wonder about his current fate.

Although he was curious, he had never cared about Justin, and he would definitely not go out of his way to search for his whereabouts.

Corey looked around his empty and lonely room with a slight frown. He felt… uncomfortable, and he knew why.

He felt disgusted with himself.

He didn't know the current status of his sister, and he was here, deciding to take the easy way out.

Although Nina told him there was no other way for him to speed up his recovery rate apart from those three methods, couldn't he find a way to locate a healer and medicinal plant?

The fire in his heart was reignited, and he stood up. He decided to find a way to speed up his recovery rate.

"I can ask the Terror Queen to look for healers any top organization has not recruited. Even if the healer is a tier 0, I can spend resources to improve the person's tier and ability."

"I can also tell her to look for a medicinal plant for me."

"Although she might not find a healer or a medicinal plant. It's better than nothing."

Just as Corey was about to contact the Terror Queen, his U-Watch rang.

Corey raised his brows as he looked at the caller ID, which showed The Fraud. He picked up the call and,

"Have you ever thought of robbing a bank?"
