Chapter 38: Expedition To The Volcano
The carriage left the royal capital.
We drove the road to the Duego Volcano.
A man was pulling the reins of a horse on the platform, and we were riding on the back of the carriage.
Meryl, sitting next to me, leans on my shoulder.
「Mufufu~ The right to sit next to papa is mine?」
「Kuu...... If only I'd use choki in that rock-paper-scissors game to determine who would sit next to father...... I'd be next to him now.」

Elsa was looking at her hands in frustration.
「Elsa always use guu like she's some kind of idiot. If I use pa, I'll never lose.」

A black shadow popped out from the bushes ahead.
Blood Wolf.
A ferocious wolf monster. Sharp claws and fangs, and muscular legs. It was a moderately troublesome enemy that slaughtered its prey in a well-organized pack.
One by one, red eyes emerged from the bushes and trees around us.
In the blink of an eye, there were nearly ten of them.
We got up from our seats in the back of the carriage and went down to the ground.
Anna is a non-combatant, so she's on standby.
I called out to the coachman as well.
「I want you to stay on the carriage. Don't move an inch. As long as you stay here, I can guarantee your safety.」
