Chapter 350 Unprecedented Twist [Pt 1]

After having my way with the White Rider—though it was pretty disappointing—I finally subjugated him.

I first got rid of his horse, who—for some funny reason—was called Lackey.

That just went to show how much of a narcissist my opponent was.

Still, I showed the pure white creature no mercy as I killed it.

The way the horse screeched in both surprise and fear made me derive at least some form of satisfaction before it finally faded into nonexistence.

Afterward, I turned my attention to its master.

Using Death’s blade, which had the ability to afflict ‘death’ to anything, I was able to kill The Conqueror.

I had initially thought it wouldn’t work, because one of the Conqueror’s abilities was to rule over anything that afflicted him.

It also had an especially annoying trait of evolving the moment it was afflicted with a particular attack.

That way, one could say that if it survived death, it would be able to evolve past it.

Fortunately, that wasn’t the case.

“As expected,” I murmured.

It was the same as the Tower of Death and Lack.

I would probably have the same experience with the Tower of War.

After my exchange with Paul, it was pretty obvious that he didn’t have the special item from the Tower of War.

‘After I’m done here, I’m heading straight for the Tower Of War!’

And so, I checked my rewards from the 99th Floor first.

As expected, I got some decent artifacts, and even received a Skill that granted me the ability to control a limited aspect of my surroundings.

“Domain Control, eh? Not bad…” I smiled.

Of course, there were restrictions, but with this, I had another way to defeat Mobs.

Titles and Items were a must, but they were comparable to the ones I had already, so I wasn’t very excited about them.

“Most of them will go to my subordinates anyway.”

My attention was on the prize for defeating The Conqueror himself.

************

My grin widened as I looked at the results of my effort.

I was currently Level 800. It was a heavy jump from my previous state, but this was one of the bonuses of the Tower Of Conquerors.

“Extra EXP!” I grinned

In addition to my Tower Champion—now Tower Dominator—Title, I Leveled Up faster in a Tower.

“Never had Leveling Up been this easy.”

At my current strength, facing the second and third waves of the Apocalypse wasn’t even going to be a problem.

Still, being cocky at this point would be a bad move.

After all, my enemies weren’t simply Demons any longer.

Gods, whose Levels I couldn’t even begin to guess—that is, if they even had such a thing, to begin with—were my actual enemies.

Still, I was probably safe—for now.

If I kept amassing strength at my current pace, it wouldn’t be long before nothing on Earth could stop me.

Since they couldn’t directly interfere, then I would be able to live in some semblance of peace.

“Time to head back.” I smiled, saying goodbye to the blank area that was already crumbling.

>VWUUUMMM<

In that instant, a warp in space appeared, and I found myself in my apartment—just as I left it.

Before coming, I had already armed myself, preparing for some sort of ambush or attack. However, after arriving and actively observing my surroundings for miles, I didn’t spot any threat.

“Maybe I’m overreacting…” I murmured.

My dark room brightened up, and I found myself in the luxurious apartment that I built for myself.

Once I had spare time, I planned on refurbishing the building with more Treasures to increase its security, durability, Nd general abilities.

If I could make a house that could fight on my behalf, that would also be pretty neat.

“Well, that’s a problem for another day.” I smiled.

Something more important came first.

“I should get the Towers over with…”

That’s right, it was finally time to challenge the Tower Of War.

>PIIIIINNNNGGG<

As expected, a System Ping arrived.

It was most likely to alert everyone about the recently conquered Tower—that is, my Achievement.

Even though it was a waste of time to check, I decided to check what the fuss was about.

“Uh…?!”

To my surprise, there were two [System Notice] tabs.

One was indeed about my achievement, but… The second one was completely unexpected.

“H—how is this happening…?!”

Instantly, a dark thought crept into my mind.

My body shivered as a horrible sense of foreboding afflicted me.

It was the same bad feeling I felt before everything came crashing down the last time.

“Why…?!”

What I was currently looking at had ruined everything I had worked for so much.

Somehow, I knew the perpetrators, but… To what end?

“A new System Patch? Bullshit!” I growled, staring at the information displayed in front of me.

‘If this is how it’s going to be, then…’

I had to hurry!
