[End Of Information]

This was perfect! The Perfect Title that befitted someone like me! I knew it was worth it to face the Chief alone, but to think it paid off so well!

My grin and excitement hadn’t disappeared when yet another thought popped into my head. I had defeated a Grade 2 Monster just now. I was now privy to its Skills contained in the Demon Core that it dropped. But, that wasn’t all!

Demons in Grade 2 and above all had something in common, something that distinguished them from the Grade 1 fodder—besides their superior strength, of course.

They all gave Drops!

And I didn’t man just Demon Cores… actual drops!.

“[Subspace]” My voice echoed.

The blue Status Window that was my [Subspace] popped beside my Status Window, its contents visible to me.

I trailed down and found the icon I was searching for—the Hobgoblin Chief’s Demon Core. My smile grew wider the moment I looked beside the icon and saw other loot gotten from the same monster.

“<Summon>” I brought them all out to examine the drops I obtained this time, as well as their quality.

“Hmmn”

Three items materialized. One was the Demon Core of the vanquished Demons, and two were the other drops that accompanied it.

“Hobgoblin Chief’s Staff… and Hobgoblin Chief’s Attire,” I muttered, calling the name of the drops that appeared like icons atop them.

The first one, the ‘Staff’ looked exactly like the one the Hobgoblin Chief held tightly—only that this one was smaller. A miniature staff that appeared to be made out of wood, curling like a snake at the tip, and giving off hints of magic energy.

It made me curious.

As for the second, it looked like the primitive robe that the Hobgoblin Chief wore—like a sash made of rags. I knew it was pure and clean since it was a drop, but wearing it was something I didn’t want to do.

Not only would I look weird with it, but it would also get in the way of my fights if I put on a rag this inappropriate.

‘I could make it into a cape, though, just tie it around my neck and shoulders… that’ll work…’ I reasoned.

Well, before I made any more assessments, I needed to see what my drops were all about. I tapped on both icons and caused nee data to pop out of them, revealing both items’ capabilities.

The highest Rank of weapons I had gotten previously was F+. Compared to this, those ones could be said to be no better than trash. While I felt like this was a Mage-related drop, it wasn’t entirely useless to me, since I used a lot of Mana in my battles. Plus, I even had Magic-based Skills.

This was mine!

“Let’s check the second one…”

[End Of Information]

With effects this good, I no longer cared if I had to wear such a raggedy outfit. The effects were too good! I had to assume that it was this Attire that saved the Hobgoblin Chief so many times when I hit him. The defensive properties on this thing were amazing.

“The Chief nullified the damage I dealt more than once… that means this attire can grow to that point. I just need to Level it up!”

There are two types of drops generally, and that also applied to this world.

Items with fixed quality that experienced no growth, and those with upgradable properties that allowed growth.

The former usually consisted of powerful items, rare, and extremely useful from the start However, over time, they dwindle in usefulness and are overtaken by the appearance of more powerful items.

The latter, however, allows the user to grow alongside it, giving to a form of balance and synergy. Of course, better items will eventually appear, so both types had flaws and advantages.

So far, I had been getting drops that could increase in level, but not in Rank. This had to do with the kind of Demons the Drops were gotten from.

“Still, I should be alright with this much… they’re not good Drops.”

The next thing I set my eyes on was the Hobgoblin Chief’s Demon Core.

Excitement welled up within me as I looked at the fairly large Demon Core. It was thick and sturdy. I couldn’t completely wrap my fingers around It, showing how huge it was compared to the others.

“This is good… Grade 2 Demons are truly very worthwhile!’

Concentrating on the stone, I felt a huge pulse of energy surge from it, and, just like clockwork, icons appeared.

My eyes bulged widely as I took in the bunch of Skills that awaited me.

They were breathtaking, amazing, extremely useful, but most especially… they were all MINE!
