For one, I had gotten a method to accumulate (G) Karma Points. Secondly, I could finally upgrade my Gift and become way stronger. Thirdly, I could obtain a Secondary Job now.

Also, since I had more Skill Slots now, I could learn a few of the Hobgoblin (Warrior) Skills, if it had anything decent. If not, I would save the Slots for the Boss.

‘Welp, I shouldn’t be too stingy about Skill Slots!’

After all, the first thing to consider was always survival. There would be no long run if I died abruptly as a result of not being powerful enough.

There were also other factors to consider, like my increased Karma Points, as well as the other prospects I had in the works, but for now… these four would be my focus

‘It’s time to become stronger!’ I beamed excitedly.

*********************************

The first item on my list of priorities was, of course, upgrading the Rank of my Gift. It was something I had been looking forward to for a long time now, so of course, it would come first.

Opening the Gift Window, I read through the information with glee.

[SubSpace Edit]

– Current Rank: D <Change Rank>.

– Current Level: 1 <Change Level>

– Total Amount Of Slots: 250

<Cost For Edit are (G) Karma Points>

[Current (G) Karma Points In Possession: 1,050]

I was familiar with this quite well. It never ceased to amaze me that one could edit their Gifts this way. So far, even with my memories from the Sacred Hall, I knew of no one who could do this!

Could I be a chosen one? Was it a glitch in the system? I was resolved to find out sooner or later, but I was presently concerned with survival. It was useless focusing on things beyond my control and neglect opportunities right in front of me.

I knew the reason for my unique condition had something to do with the God entity I spent time with. He was always so suspicious, no, the whole thing was.

The fact that I was the only one who ‘conveniently’ slept through Christmas. The fact that there was only one Gift left behind and he chose to withhold it until a deal of time had elapsed before giving it to me. The fact that the underrated Gift he gave me ended up being this useful.

‘Surely, if he’s God and the original owner of the [Subspace] Gift, he should know how it works and the huge potential it has…’

The more I thought if it, the more confused I got since I could not arrive at a reasonable conclusion. Giving up o the matter, my mind returned to the task at hand.

With a giddy heart, I tapped on the <Change Rank> are of the Edit Window.

[System Alert]

~Confirm! Are You Sure You Want To Upgrade The Rank Of Your Gift?~

[Yes] [No]

‘Sheesh…’ I rolled my eyes.

Why else would I be doing this if I wasn’t? Why would I sacrifice human lives if I was not certain? Sometimes I wondered about who designed such a system and what made them bother about asking such useless questions!

I tapped [Yes] and waited for the next notification. It popped up immediately, as expected.

[System Update]

~Subspace Has Ranked Up~

[Rank Has Increased From D – C]

[Previous abilities have been upgraded]

[Additional Slots have been added]

[Additional Ability has been added]

~You Have Used Up 1,000 (G) Karma Points~

~50 (G) Karma Points Remain~

I grinned. It was successful! I had lost quite a great deal, and I was certain the next cost for an upgrade would be more unbelievable. But, what else could I have done?

The rewards were sure to be worth it!

“Let’s see what we’ve got!” I smiled, tapped the [See More] icon, and watched the panel change.

[SUBSPACE]

Level: 1

Ability: Stores ‘Anything’ within a personal pocket dimension (Rank D – C)

Total Amount Of Slots: 1,000

Additional Ability:

~ Any Item (Non-Living) Can Be Taken Into [Subspace] Without The Need For Physical Contact. (Rank C)

~ Non-Physical Items (Non-Living) Can Be Registered By, And Taken Into [Subspace]. (Rank C)

<Edit>

[Additional Information]

A Gift that stores any ‘Any’ matter in compact slots located in a distinct pocket universe. The matter stored within this space can be retracted by choice. The size and additional capabilities increase upon growth.

[End Of Information]

My jaws nearly dropped as I read the information. No, they definitely did. I could feel saliva drip down my mouth as I drooled at the unbelievable amount of growth I had made in such a short span of time.

There was no doubt about it. My 1,000 (G) Karma Points had been spent wisely.

All those humans definitely died for something great! If I had received just one extra feature, I would have felt a little mad, but not only did I receive two new abilities, [Subspace] could now take in ‘Anything’. The fact that it was qualified meant it could be more than even I bargained for.

I didn’t even need physical contact for non-living objects. That was extremely impressive. It would have been too OP if it applies to Living Objects. If that was the case, then handling Demons would prove to be too easy! I could just handle them the same way I took care of the stampede, except with much ease.

‘That would be enough for it to be called a cheat!’

No, if I was being honest, the [Subspace] Gift was a cheat all by itself already. I had 1,000 Slots now. A massive leap from just 250. This all felt like a dream. It was so overwhelming!

However, when I considered what I had to sacrifice, I realized it was most definitely worth it.

Even though I still had no idea why the System required human lives for (G) Karma Point, or how exactly it was evaluated, human life didn’t come cheap.

‘Cheap, uh… hold on…’ My eyes bulged as a thought suddenly sparked in my head.

It was something I had never even considered before, but now that it appeared, I couldn’t dismiss the thought.

“This is…!”
