Chapter 608 Apologize For Your Crimes

Everyone almost has their eyeballs pop out upon hearing this hooded man address the empress of the Rong Empire in such a blatantly insulting manner.

No…this was more than just an insult but a ruthless stripping of one's face.

And what was equally shocking was that he was demanding an empress like her to kneel before him.

Even if she was a puppet empress, she was still an empress in the end.

So wasn't this going too far unless this man had no plans of leaving here alive?

Olivia felt her face burn and was the one feeling most enraged.

Unlike Ruthren's situation, where people were afraid to look at him even after the hooded man insulted him, Olivia could feel the gazes of the people around her landing on her.

She could feel the ridicule in their eyes even if it was not obvious.

As an empress, when did she ever have to get insulted like this in public? Who would dare to insult at her face?

She truly wanted to poison this hooded man to death a thousand times over in the most painful way.

She had no idea why this man was targeting her, but she sure as hell was determined to display a show of strength so that no more of these lowly people would dare to look down on her.

She stepped forward as she spoke loudly in a bitter tone, "You ingrate! Do you have any idea who you are speaking to? What you just said is enough for my entire empire to hunt you down and make you—"

"Shut your trap, whore. Did you forget what situation this is? I am the one holding all the cards here, including the Celestial Princess in my arms. I know how important she is to you, so if you talk without my permission then I don't have to tell you what happens," The hooded man said in a deep dark voice, making people feel that he wasn't kidding.

Olivia immediately swallowed the words that were about to come out of her mouth since this madman seemed to be on a suicide mission, and she didn't want him to kill Lily.

Obviously, she didn't really care about Lily, but she still needed her since the Xeton Emperor wanted her. So until then, if she lets something happen to Lily, then she might have to answer to the Xeton Emperor.

"Good. At least you aren't completely brain dead. Now step forward towards the center of the hall and kneel before me while announcing an apology to Lily," The hooded man demanded in a tone that left no room for refusal.

Everyone had a confused look, wondering what was going on.

They could guess that there was some considerable bad blood between these two when he demanded her to kneel.

But hearing him demand an apology from her towards Lily left him confused since, in their perspective, Olivia was at least a kind and nice stepmother to Lily.

At least that was what they always saw in public.

"You must be out of your mind! Why should I apologize when I did nothing wrong? And why do you care anyway?" Olivia felt her heart thudding against her chest, feeling very tensed and nervous.

Still, she had to know why this hooded man was doing this for Lily if he was prepared to kill her if necessary.

Lily bit her lip upon hearing this as she resentfully glared at Olivia.

The hooded man slightly laughed as he said, "Heh, as I said, I plan to make the Celestial Princess my woman, but since she hates me now, I wanted to do a favor for her while also seeing you get punished for your sins. Today might is your judgment day, Olivia. And if you want some incentive, here you go," The hooded man suddenly tossed out a metal disc towards which she caught, and it seemed to be a miniature formation that was capable of recording things visually.

With apprehension, she activated it as it projected the recording into her mind, only letting her see it.

But the moment it started playing in her head, her eyes widened to their extremities as she subtly shot an incensed glare at Tristen, who winked at her.

However, she knew she didn't have the luxury to get angry at Tristen now. Instead, she has to make sure this recording never sees the light of the day. Otherwise, she will be finished and suffer a social death.

Even if kneeling and apologizing in public will damage her pride and esteem to a great degree, it surely would not be worse than the recording being out in the open.

She meekly looked at the Xeton Emperor for help, but he wasn't even looking in her direction and was coldly looking straight.

Ruthren was now almost sure of the identity of the hooded man, and that only made his eyes glow with inner rage. He really wanted to make a move, but even the slightest chance of destroying his future made him hold back.

Olivia felt realized that nobody was going to help her despite being an empress, and so she grudgingly stepped into the center of the hall, making people gasp, wondering what was in that recording that made her change her mind.

The shrewd ones could guess that it was obviously some dirty secret she wouldn't dare to expose, while the Gale Emperor had a bad feeling for some reason.

He really wanted to crush this hooded man to a pulp right here and now but losing the chance to take down the Krisen Kingdom was not something he could afford.

Lily had a look of disbelief just like the others upon seeing Olivia slowly bend her legs and kneel on the floor.

Lily felt her eyes getting warm, wishing that her parents were alive to see this since they deserved to see this woman kneeling before them more than her.

"Lily...I am sorry," Olivia said in a stiff hard tone while looking down since, for some reason, she just couldn't look at Lily's eyes.

"Is this the way you apologize to someone? Speak up and say for what reasons you owe an apology to Lily," The hooded man demanded coldly.
