"Ugh...don't....You people have no idea who I am!" Drake frantically said, seeing that he was cornered and these two were approaching him with his death warrant.

Damien laughed as he said, "We all know who you are...Drake…"

"Wh...What...how…" Drake involuntarily gulped, seeing that Godnim knew his identity.

"You...who are you?? There is no way Tristen's lackey would know who I am…" Drake said as he accidentally bit on his tongue in anxiety.

Damien slowly shook his head, "There is no need for you to know who I am since I will be the one asking questions. Tell me...what do you need Princess Ai for...or her special ethereal core, I should say?"

Drake's legs were still bleeding from his injuries, but he gritted his teeth and said casually, "What else can I want from a girl who is going to die soon?"

Damien punched Drake's face, making his face crash against the wall, and then clutched his neck, "You better tell me what I need to know. Or I will beat you to death by breaking every bone in your body slowly. So...what would it be?"

Drake's expression became panic-stricken as he coughed out, "I...I can't….I will die…"

"Heh, of course, you will if you don't tell me the truth," Damien said as a cold glint flashed past his eyes.

"Damien...I think he meant he can't tell the truth even if he wanted to…" Yuria said as she observed Drake's expression.

Damien took a good look at Drake again, and seeing this scaredy-cat, he realized he overlooked the fact that someone could have tasked Drake with this mission, and if he said anything, then he would die.

"Shit!" Damien shoved Drake towards the wall in frustration, trying to think of alternatives. He obviously didn't have enough soul essence to turn someone into his undead slave. Luna had warned him that if his soul essence goes below 50%, then he could suffer permanent damage to his soul and even loss of memories.

He had already sacrificed some of his vitality to create his undead slaves, and now he didn't even have the guarantee that Drake's soul would be left intact after his death. Otherwise, even if he sliced his soul essence again, it could be all in vain, and he would end up with a useless slave.

But even so, he wasn't prepared to take the risk till he recovered some of his soul essences or increased his soul cultivation so that the cost to turn Drake into an undead slave would lower as the gap in cultivation increases.

"Damien...what's the plan now?" Yuria asked him mentally.

Damien's expression became thoughtful, wondering if he should kill Drake and get it over with. However, his gut was telling him that whoever sent Drake on this mission was up to no good, and it would surely benefit him if he was able to find out who was the mastermind and why they sent Drake here.

Damien felt a headache having the dilemma of killing Drake or not whereas, Drake was busy tending to his wounds and also looking around like a sly crow to see if he could make a run for it.

But seeing Tristen blocking the entrance, he inwardly grumbled in frustration while having his hands and feet go cold, wondering whether these two were going to kill him.

So he decided to beg for his life, "Please...Godnim...don't kill me...I can get you some special treasures...I am sure your friend Tristen over there wouldn't be able to get you the valuable ones, especially now that you know who I really am. B-besides...after the death of Roy and Denissa, my family has kept a protection talisman on my soul as a precaution. So i-if I was to die, they would be able to see my last moments, which means they would be able to see you two and will hunt you both down. It is a special talisman given to my family by the Xeton Emperor himself...so d-don't feel any doubt about its effectiveness…"

"What the…" Damien turned to look at him with a frown, seeing that the Haley Family had learned from the tragedy the other two main families suffered.

However, he shook his head in contempt, seeing how the once haughty young master looked and acted so pathetic now.

By now, Damien wasn't surprised to see such a sight since he knew young masters like these would break the moment they were alone and cornered. Their only courage stems from their own backing, and if they disappear, then they would be even willing to act as dogs just to survive.

He finally said, "I won't kill you…"

"Eh! Really??" Drake ecstatically asked though inwardly, he scoffed, thinking that Godnim got scared of his family, especially because of what would happen if he died.

Yuria was only half-surprised since she knew Damien wouldn't be willing to take the risk though she looked at him, indirectly asking what he was planning to do.

However, Damien wasn't finished, "But...you are also not going to return back to your home or the Forsaken," Damien said as his lips arched into a sly smile, making Drake feel as if this guy was up to no good.

"Wh...What do you mean? If I don't return, then they will surely search for me, and you two will end up in a situation you two don't want to be in," Drake purposefully stressed the fact again that his family will surely look for him.

"Oh, really? But how will they know where to look for you, especially since you were on a noble mission and faced a battle with the army of the Gale Empire? You will be presumed dead or worse while I lock you away in a hidden location till I figure out what to do with you.. Let your family keep scouring the entire Rising Sun Continent though by that time many things could happen," Damien said, much to the shock of Drake while Yuria smiled in surprise, thinking that it was natural for Damien to think of something like this.
