Chapter 99: Chapter 99 – Morally grey
Feng Mei got out from the carriage box and carefully walked down the bird’s wing. A small gust of wing gushed onto her face, bringing about a heavenly rose scent.
“Oh, my god I can smell the roses from here!!”
“I know, right!!” Elle jumped about excitedly. “Wait till you see the entire garden~~”
“Easy girls, we are still on a bird’s wing. Climb down carefully,” lady Perlin gently held both their hands. Even so, she kept a careful eye on Aiden and Ethan, who were being guided down by Alvin.
Lady Hiliana got down first and waited for them. She helped all of them land safely by giving them a hand.
Feng Mei and Elle jumped down without her help.
“Come here, I’ll show you something amazing!” Elle dragged her over to the other corner.

Feng just smiled at lady Hiliana and ran after her.
“Those two are quite spirited,” lady Perlin whispered, slightly nudging her sister.
Lady Hiliana smiled softly. “Well, those children are going to keep us occupied for a long time.”
“that’s definite,” Perlin suddenly glanced Aiden, who was getting closer to the ground. “Careful now,” she held out her hand.
The little boy gently held her outstretched hand and jumped down. As for Ethan, he just clung to Alvin’s hands and got down.
Lady Perlin looked at the little hand in her palm. Her eyes started to tear up unconditionally. She subtly wiped it away.
“Why don’t we get in? It’s getting quite chilly,” she whispered, leading him in.
Aiden was more than happy to follow her lead.
As for Ethan, he just pouted, glancing at his bother.
“Why don’t you join lady Perlin?” Alvin gently whispered.
Ethan just looked that him with a sad smile. “No,”
“Why not?”
“I don’t want a mother,”
“You knew?” Alvin raised a brow. “When?”
“I’m five, not an idiot,” he mumbled, tugging at his hand. “Is it not possible for us to stay with Feng?”
Alvin squatted down and gently held both his hands. “It is your decision. If you want to, you can have a loving mother and a wonderful father or you can stay with us. But I’ll tell you a secret.”
“What?” Ethan curiously moved close.
“Feng Mei is a part if Rofles family now. So when he it’s time for her coming of age they will only match her with men of the same status,”
Ethan narrowed his eyes into slits. “I am powerful. I would have developed into a great mage by then,”
“Sure you can, but if you get adopted into aunt Perlin’s family, your chances of getting chosen are high,” Alvin whispered, patting his cheeks.
Ethan just nodded at him with a thoughtful look. “But do you think fen will agree to arrange marriage? She is free willed and will choose on her own. I don’t necessarily have to depend on anyone,” he said and walked away with a cheerful stride.
Alvin just watched him with a slight smile. Somehow he knew that the little boy will agree to Perlin’s request.
“Wait up,” he ran to catch up to them.
Feng glanced back to see lady Perlin and lady Hiliana walking hand in hand. Aiden was next to Perlin, holding her other hand.
‘Ohhhh it’s happening. They are going to be a family soon. Eeep this is so exciting!!’ she hopped around twirling Elle’ with her.
Elle giggled softly. “Meimei, let’s go see the gardens,”
“Girls~ first freshen up, get breakfast and then you girls can go play all your heart’s content,” lady Hiliana said from the distance.
“Yes, lady Hiliana~” Feng ran back to her hold her hand.
Elle was holding her other hand.
All of them entered the enormous mansion. The entrance way was a vast arch with a lot of carved angels entangled in flower wines.
Feng watched in awe at the grandeur of that place. As they moved inside, there was a garden which had a lot of blue roses bloomed all over.
She ran close and touched one of them. It was freezing cold to touch, and it froze her finger tip a bit, leaving behind a fresh rose fragrance.
Lady Perlin hurried to her and gently massaged her finger with her warm palm. “When they are still in their wine, they freeze your skin.”
“Oh, I did not know that,” Feng continued sniffing her finger tip. It smelt heavenly. “This is so calming,”
“When these flowers dry, we make them into rose oil. I’ll get you some,” lady Perlin whispered softly.
Feng smiled widely. ‘Wow, I can use this rose oil for my bath. A rose bath!!!! Oh man, I can’t wait for it,’
Lady Perlin then led them to a huge hall.
It was elaborately decorated with a huge crystal chandelier just levitating in the ceiling. There was a wooden stairwell just like she had seen in one of tailor swift Musial video blank space. But this was much more enormous.
She just felt small in this house.
‘Wait, I am small.’ Feng shook her head at her stupid thought.
“Welcome to ‘Frost Rose Mansion’.” A man appeared at the top of the stairwell, glancing down at them all.
Seeing his face, Feng froze. She was very familiar with this person.
Because in the game this character is the one who assisted Clarina after her birth family is killed off. He was tenacious in protecting the one he loves but his character was.... So to say morally grey.
And Killing was his hobby.
