Chapter 96: Chapter 96 – Uncomfortable Gifts
Ethan glanced at the middle ages women who kept throwing glances at them. {‘Hey don’t you think she is looking at us weirdly?’} he nudged Aiden.
Aiden glanced at him with a smile. {‘I believe that Lady must be one who is interested in adopting us,’}
Ethan froze. {‘Why.... we don’t need any parents.’}
{‘Well, that’s what you think. But Lady Hiliana was so rested because of us. To survive in this harsh society, we need a steady family background or else our powers will wind us up in bigger trouble like last life,’} Aiden said subtly shrugging.
The last life they both led a very pitiful life. They had to work as slaves for a long time. But after their powers developed, they started their own position in the society. Even so, it became such a troublesome thing.
They made so many enemies who were jealous of their powers. Later on, they dug a pit for them and later on sent them to Yubiri’s hands.

“Lady Perlin is my younger sister. We will be staying over at their mansion before our house is ready to be inhabitable.” Lady Hiliana introduced them.
Feng Mei smiled and nodded towards her. “Oh...that sounds nice. Thank you for having us with you, Lady Perlin,”
“call me aunty little one,” Lady Perlin, who was sitting opposite them, moved a bit and sat close to her. “And you two.. you can call me whatever you want to.”
Aiden smiled widely. “Thank you Lady Perlin,”
“Oh you sweet, sweet boy,” she gently caressed his cheeks. Her shimmering eyes filled with tear juts looking at the two kids. She then hopefully glanced at Lady Hiliana.
Lady Hiliana just nodded. “Boys, I have a proposition for you. Let’s talk when we reach the mansion,”
“yes~” Aiden smiled and nudged Ethan, who was still upset.
“Is everything okay, little man?” lady Perlin gently tugged at Ethan’s sleeve.
Ethan just glanced at her with a pout.
“Is something upsetting you? Tell me I can help you any way I can,” the lady whispered gently.
Ethan just blinked, slightly bewildered by the love he saw in her eyes. “N-nothing.” he glanced out the window, never once taking a look at her again. {‘I still don’t think it’s a good idea to allow this,’}
{‘Why not?’}
{‘If one day we die, then she will be devastated.....’} Ethan sent his thoughts with a small frown.
Aiden just looked at him weirdly. {‘we are not going to die Ethan,’}
Feng, who was sitting on the other side, glanced at them both. ‘Something seems wrong,’
“Excuse me, Lady Perlin,” she stood up and moved towards the kids. She nudged herself in the small gap I between them.
Ethan immediately hugged her from the side.
‘I knew it he was not feeling good.’
“Are you afraid of heights?” Feng gently caressed his curly blond hair.
He just glanced up through his lashes. “Hmm..”
“Aww cutie, its okay...”
Lady Perlin heard this and started to panic. “I should have brought a regular carriage. I’m sorry I let’s call for one right now.”
Ethan glanced at her instantly. “No I am not afraid of heights... can we just go home?..”
Hearing the word home, the young lady smiled widely. “yes... yes we can,” she put her head out the window and shouted, “Hailin, we are all settled. Let’s get going,”
The bird flapped its wings and soared up high.
Even though they were flying rapidly, the box did not shake at all.
‘Just like that ship, this box must have some kind of magic spell on it,’ Feng thought as she gently held Ethan’s hands. It was very cold and shivering a bit.
She swiftly removed the scarf he gave her and rolled it over her hands. She then gently rubbed his cold digits.
“Is he cold? Shall I increase the temperature?” Lady Perlin panicked even more. She swiftly opened up a small compartment in the side walls of the box. It had various colored scrolls. She picked one out and whispered something.
The whole box became strangely warm.
‘Ah, that must be a magic scroll,’ Feng glanced at it curiously.
As far as she read in the basic magic books, this world had many types of magic, the elemental magic being the common amongst them.
But the rarest was the spell magic. One in millions had the power to cast a spell. A spell master can harness any kind of elemental magic. Their body necessarily did not contain these elemental magic rather, they use the spells to combine the magic elements in the atmosphere.
That’s what makes them scarily powerful. They don’t get tired even during a long ranged battle.
The greatest example for this was the one sitting in front of her. ‘Yubiri, just fifteen, yet he was named the great mage. It must be because of his spell casting talents,’
Yubiri noticed her look and smiled widely. “Are you enjoying this? Do you want me to make you a spell that can warm you up as well? The last one I gifted did not last long. Maybe I should make you a pendant or perhaps a ring that you can have on you all the time.....”
Before she could reject him, Lady Hiliana intervened.
“Mister Yu, you can’t always gift her things. It’s inappropriate,”
“No it’s just....”
“Gifts at such costs can only be exchanged between betrothed. Please keep that in mind,”
“Then is it okay if I get engaged to her? do I have your approval?”
