Chapter 7: Chapter 7 – Kidnap?

Feng Mei slowly opened her eyes. But they were quite heavy and stuck together. ‘huh? What happened? Yes, we-we got in an accident.’ She thought trying super hard to open her eyes, but they refused to budge. She slowly moved her fingers to check if they were still attached to her body.. both her hands and feet were fully motional but she was too tired to move.

‘Wait....what about Eliot? He-he is okay, right?’ she panicked then he remembered that the truck hit her side of the car and the blunt force should be forced on her alone. ‘If I am okay, then he would be too,’ she let out a breath and slouched down. Her back hit soothing hard and with a lot of sharp bits. ‘ow, bad hospital don’t they service their beds and blankets? See how sharp the headboard is,’ she muttered in her mind.

With her hands, she felt around to find the same crude surface under her. Her heart started to pound fast. Her nose that was inactive until now started sniffing out a dingy smell. It smelt more like rotten fish and faeces.

She held her breath, but with her hands inactive she could not close her nose. ‘Where...where am I? What is this place? It smells awful,’ she gagged. She swallowed back her puke with some difficulty. ‘God, this is disgusting. ‘Hua jun....is she nearby? She would not leave me alone,’ she felt around to get poked by a few sharp substances on the surface. Caressing her hands, she found a few small splintered poking in. ‘wood...I’m on wood,’

With a struggle, she opened her eyes. Her surrounding was still dark, so she was not able to scope anything. “Hua.... where?” she hoarsely whispered. She dragged her hands up and held her throat with an astonished expression. Her voice it sounded sharp and screechy, like a kid’s. ‘What is going on?’

“Hua? Eliot?..... there,” she stuttered though her aching throat.

But sadly, she did not receive any reply.

.....

Her wandering hands felt around to find herself in an enclosed structure. ‘Darn, I think I am in a box. No way....am I kidnapped?’ her hands started to tremble, but soon she calmed herself. ‘There is always a chance that I am dreaming,’ she pinched herself softly she felt a sharp pain from it. ‘it’s not a dream then,’

Feng Mei slowly crawled forward, but her weak body was not able to hold on. “hua....” he panted. Suddenly she heard a soft muffle nearby. “Who...” she shouted in her hoarse voice.

The small sound disappeared. But it made her aware that’s he was not alone in this dingy space.

“Someone.....I mean no.....harm...” she panted.

But in that dark space, she was not able to see anything else.

‘I need to depend on myself at least I should scope out where I am at,’ she slowly sniffed the wooden walls on her enclosure. ‘Smells like sea and fish...maybe this box was transported via sea or.... it is being transported,’

Suddenly her small box rocked softly to and forth. ‘I knew it. I am kidnapped and being trafficked via sea,’ she bit her lips and cussed her luck. She softly knocked on the wooden walls. It banged softly. ‘this wood is sturdy but if it was used frequently in sea, it would have weathered in some spots,’

She continued knocking around until she heard a different sound resounding on the wood behind her. ‘There it is,’ she clenched her fist and punched it hard. The wood cracked, revealing a small ray of light inside the small box.

Feng mei peaked out to find the sail of the boat obstructing her vision. ‘Shit, I won’t be able to know how many kidnappers are there. But from the looks of it, this is an old sail ship. It meant that most of the sailors would be on deck,’ she deducted with her hands on her chin. Her stomach growled loudly, but she learned to ignore it.

“All hands on deck. Hard bank starboard!” a loud voice shouted.

The small box she was in rocked vigorously. ‘they are turning,’ she thought and glanced at her back. She found two small figures huddled together. Only their dirty blond hair was shimmering with the small ray of light.

‘Kids? Oh my god, Mrs. Feng has become so cruel to kidnap even kids. Darn it, that poisonous woman. I should not have let her live,’ she thought, clenching her fists.

“Kids...I mean no harm...” she whispered and crawled closer. But they both trembled and moved close to the corner. ‘Looks like words won’t help,’

She directly crawled over to them and held the kid’s hands. Suddenly she heard a loud chime in her ears. “Adventure, welcome to the Glimmer of Redemption.” A mechanical voice said next to her ears.
