Chapter 58: Chapter 58 – The Ambush

“It’s getting late lets go back to the ship.” lady Hiliana glanced at the receding back of the young mange with a frown. “Alvin, follow sir Yu and make sure everything goes well.”

“Yes grandma,” Alvin bowed and left in a hurry to follow Yubiri, who was dragging Feng’s said father.

Feng peaked out and watched this with a loud sigh. ‘Goodness, it’s over now. I thought it will not end at all,’

A warm hand gently patted her back and hugged her tightly. “Everything is okay now Feng, I will not let anyone hurt you.”

Feng pulled away slightly from her embrace and glanced down into her eyes. “Lady Hiliana....”

“No, no, you don’t address me like that. I much prefer the way you called out to me before.” the old lady chuckled in glee.

“Huh....”

.....

Only then did Feng remember that she called lady Hiliana her mother indirectly when she was talking to her said father. Her face hated up immediately. She hugged her tight and placed her head onto her shoulder.

“I-I....”

“Take your time dear, I shall wait until you shall call me lovingly,” lady Hiliana gently caressed the back of her head.

Feng hid her face, hiding her blushing face. “hmm...”

After a while, when she felt comfortable enough, she glanced at the streets. It was bustling and was filled with cheerful people shopping for dresses and shoes.

A small smile rose on her lips. ‘This world is not that bad either.’

Soon they all walked towards the harbour. It was dark already, only the lights of the lamps of the wooden posts attached to the panels lit the way.

Lady Hiliana walked by hugging her up into her embrace and held the other three kids in her embrace.

Feng silently peaked her head out and glanced at the slave ship. ‘So they were not the ones who attacked me. Maybe I was just over thinking, they won’t have even realised that we three were missing.’

‘Either way, let’s go to our ship safely and report them.’ She thought, nodding to herself.

But suddenly the light in their path flickered violently.

A dark figure stood in front of them, blocking their pathway.

“Kind sire, let way please,” lady Hiliana kindly whispered.

But the dark figure refused to move.

In fear, Feng glanced up at him. “Lady.... let’s leave.. they... they are her for us....” she gripped the lady’s sleeve tightly.

Lady Hiliana curiously looked at the man. “Why do you think so, dear?”

“He... he is a part of the slave ship!!” she shouted and tugged violently at the lady’s dress. “Let’s leave they are dangerous. Ethan, Aiden run with Elle!!!” she shouted, but the kids stood still with an unknown look in their eyes.

“Ethan? Aiden? Elle? Oh my god, listen to me!!” Feng struggled to get down, but lady Hiliana hugged her close.

“Don’t fret, dear, we can deal with this person,” the lady confidently whispered to her with a smile.

Feng paused. “But... but there is more than one....”

“It’s okay,” lady Hiliana placed her down safely onto the ground and gently pushed her towards Elle. “Elle darling, you know what to do,”

“Yes grandma,” Elle pulled Feng backwards so that the three of them stood in front.

“Elle?” Feng glanced down to see the kid’s eyes glowing green. There was a weird sign on her forehead that was glowing as well.

“Grandma, to your right, in two seconds. Over your head in five,” she said suddenly.

Feng confusedly glanced at her. ‘What does that mean? What’s going on?’

Lady Hiliana took removed her scarf and rolled it up tightly. She whipped it towards her right. The scarf hit the man, who jumped at them from the side. It whacked him right on his face, sending him flying ten feet.

Feng gasped loudly. “Did she just.... oh my god you can predict their moves!”

Elle glanced at her with a small smile. “Don’t be scared.”

‘I’m more surprised than scared,’ Feng thought to herself as she watched the old lady fight with just a scarf.

“Aiden, down below in ten, Ethan, run up ahead and slide down,” Elle shouted all of a sudden.

The boys did as he told.

Ethan ran up ahead and slid down in between a slaver’s legs. With his powers, he created a small ball fog and tossed it at him. The slaver immediately fainted upon contact, his skin started to melt immediately off of his skin.

Aiden jumped up high and summoned his ice particle in the environment to create a huge hand. He controlled it so that the ones who were hiding under water below the bridge were washed to away.

Seeing their well-coordinated attacks, Feng just watched with her mouth wide open.

‘Why did I even get scared huh... these people are powerful? Darn, even the kids are powerful.’

She glanced at her palm expectantly. ‘When will I awaken my powers? When will I get powerful?’

“Feng, look out!!” Elle shouted and dragged her forward.

A sword slashed right I front of her eyes.

The sharp sword reflected her stunned face as it swung right in front of her nose. “agh!” she swiftly jumped back, holding Elle’s hand.

Elle panicked and hugged her tight. “Grandma!! Too many... there are too many in all directions!!!”

Lady Hiliana gritted her teeth loudly. “Elle! Run to the town when you get the chance!”
