Chapter 55: Chapter 55 – The Middle Aged man
The clock rang seven thirty.
‘Shit, I’m done for... this is bad... am I really going to die again. What is going to happen to me,’ she glanced around in panic.
Both the twins could somehow feel her unrest. They hugged her waist tightly to reassure her.
But this only made her heart burn in pain. ‘fuck... I’m gonna leave them too. Will I just die gruesome like that game where the head bursts open? What will happen if they see me die? I-I can’t’
Without any warning, she ran across the road to the alleyway. The lineup of carriage passed right behind her.
“FENG!!! Oh my god!! Feng,” lady Hiliana panicked but even she couldn’t get past the speeding magic carriages. “Go to the passageway!!” she shouted.
Feng ran to the alleyway and inside without any hesitation. ‘If I’m gonna die, at least I have to die without anyone seeing me.’ she bit her lips and gently sobbed.

“I hate you Ling!! I hate you so much for creating this torture game just for me!!!”‘ she shouted as she blindly rushed into the darkness.
Suddenly, she tripped on something and fell face first to the ground.
“careful!” Yubiri gripped hold of her hand and dragged her close to his torso. “Are you hurt anywhere?” he squatted down and checked her feet and knees. Nothing was bleeding or wounded. “Why were you running? It could have been dangerous.”
He glanced up to see her looking confused at the man on the ground. ‘Shit, I forgot to hide this.’
He swiftly blocked her eyes. “Don’t look....” he whispered and pulled her stiff body close.
“He.... he... is he dead?”
“No, just unconscious.” he gently patted her back, trying to sooth her shivers. “There, there, it’s all okay. Bad man is taken care of.” he gently pulled her up and lifted her in a princess carry.
Feng looked up at him blankly.
“Don’t fear anything. I’ll take care of everything just for you.”
Her pounding heart calmed down all of a sudden. She wiggled around tightly, clinging onto his shoulders. “t-thank you... can you please?.....”
“No need for thanks, my dear. I am at your service,” Yubiri gently placed her down. “Can you stand now?”
“Yes, very well, thank you.” Feng glanced up at the tall, dependable young mage with a smile. ‘oh I really found a golden tree to lean on. Thank god, if not for him the situation would have escalated fast,’
Suddenly something griped her ankles tightly. “AHH!”
“You b-bitch...” the man on the ground sat up with a groan. “How dare you... how dare you leave there without a word... because if you I was being hunted down!!”
Yubiri swiftly kicked his face and pulled Feng behind him.
“You bastard.” the man wiped his nose with a glare.
In this angle, Feng was clearly able to see his face. This was a middle-aged man with a lot of old and new wounds on his face. He was resentfully looking her way.
“Come over here when I ask you nicely, bitch. You have to go back where you belong.” he stood up and glared at her.
Without a word, Yubiri dragged this man to the streets.
Feng ran after him with a confused expression. Because this man was not a slaver, she saw on the ship. He was not dressed the same way as well. ‘Who might he be? Why did he attack me then? Where is he asking me to go?’
Out the alleyway, lady Hiliana pulled her in a tight hug. “Oh my dear Feng, why did you run off like that? My heart almost stopped for a second.”
“Sorry lady, I lost this.” she showed the small candy wrapper to her.
Ethan, who was close by, ran to her and hugged her tight. “Idiot!! Idiot!! A paper is not worth your life!”
“But it’s yours first present. I wish to cherish it forever,” Feng mumbled, and hugged them both. Aiden wordlessly glanced up. “What is it dear?”
“I love you so much, Feng. Don’t do anything like that again,” he cried, with fat tears dripping down his face.
“Oh baby, it’s okay. I’m unharmed, right. It’s all thanks to sir Yu that I was safe though.” she glanced at him with a smile.
Yubiri, who had a sour expression, swiftly changed his face and sweetly smiled at her. “It’s my honour to be of your service,”
Both the twins glared at him.
{‘Aiden, we have to get strong fast. We have to become dependable.’} Ethan sent his thought with trembling lips.
{‘yes.... we have to safeguard her well.....’} Aiden agreed.
And so their shopping trip came to an end with the criminal apprehended.
And so they thought.
But a greater danger lurked not far away, waiting for them to walk right into their trap.
