Chapter 23: Chapter 23 – Cracked Egg
Feng was currently being pulled by little Elle around the deck. Glancing back, she saw the two little boys pouting hard. “Elle, why don’t we stop for a moment? I might trip at this rate.”
The little girl flipped her brunette hair and glared at her. “Meimei is bad!! But.... but you left... you didn’t even dance with me,” she started sniffing.
‘Oh shit,’ Feng squatted down and hugged her. “I’m sorry. Don’t cry. I can dance with you if you want,”
“Really,” Elle peaked out with tears streaming down her cheeks.
“Really,”
But suddenly Feng felt a small tug on her skirt. Both Ethan and Aiden were glaring at her. ‘Oh lord, how am I going to deal with these three?’
Laughing awkwardly, she stood up. “Ah, the sun is too bright, why don’t we go back inside,”

As she was about to walk away, a hand tightly gripped her and dragged her back.
Feng glanced back to find the white-haired man young boy she met yesterday.
“Sir, can you let go of me,” she tugged, but he tightened his grip. Frowning, she glared at him, “It’s not proper for you to do so, sir. Let go now,”
Ethan immediately jumped on him and bit his hand. Aiden kicked his shin with his tiny legs. “Let go you bad man!!! Let go!!”
Grinning, Yubiri glared at the two vermin besides her. “Miss, tell me your name,”
Losing her patience, Feng punched his face. “When I said let go, please let go. So improper of you to behave in such an uncultured manner, tsk,” she caressed her aching fist. ‘What the hell is his head made off, huh? Darn, I think I broke my knuckle hitting his coconut head,’ she pulled Ethan and Aiden away. “sir, please make sure to see a doctor for your wounds,”
Without any words she walked away, leaving a stunned Yubiri on the floor. Everyone was pointing at him and gossiping amongst them, but that did not bother him. “Her name.... its Meimei..... She even punched just like Feng.” He followed them stealthily to find them going to the drawing room..
He rushed back to his room. “Kijin, where are you?” he ran around to see his servant sorting through clothes.
“What is it, master? Are you hurt anywhere?”
Yubiri gripped his shoulders. “I want you to research a person. Find out anything you can about the three orphans they pulled aboard two days ago. Immediately!!”
“Yes master,” Kijin ran out, throwing the messy clothes behind.
Yubiri sat in the messy room with a crazy expression on his face... “If I’m here... then she could be too. Am I dreaming or is it real?” he laughed out loud. “I think I’ve finally lost my sanity,”
On the other hand, the person of his crazy thoughts was sitting in front of three children. Elle happily wave around her legs and Ethan and Aiden looked like they ate shit.
“Looks like I have a lot to teach you three. First, you Elle, Wait here,” she went over to the breakfast basket and took out two boiled quail eggs. She gave one to Elle. “Hold it in a fist dear,”
The little girl griped it tight.
“tighter,”
She clenched her fist until the egg shell cracked. “Ah, I broke!!” she opened her hand and showed the egg. The cracked shells had pierced the boiled egg.
“Can it still be eaten?” Feng whispered softly to her.
“No,” she shook her head.
“Elle, friendship and relationship are like this egg. If you hold it too tight, it will break.” She gently said, but the little girl titled her head confusedly. “Let me explain clearly. I am the egg and you are holding onto me too tightly.”
“What no, I make sure to be gentle with you,” Elle exclaimed.
“But you are too possessive, right? That is hurting me,” Feng said worriedly.
“How is it hurting you?” Elle whispered with a frown.
“Little lady Elle, you like me and I too am very fond of you, but the thing is. You have so many people who cherish you, your grandmother, brother; you hold them dear in your heart as well.”
“You too, I hold you too.” Elle said immediately.
“I know, but have you thought about them,” she pointed to Ethan and Aiden who were sitting silently. “They have no one but me to rely on and to adore. You being so possessive of me leaves them with nobody to rely in,” she whispered as simple as she could.
Aiden pitifully pouted and hugged her. “Yes, we only have Feng. No one else,”
Elle was flabbergasted. She silently watched them with tears dripping down her eyes. “Am I hurting you, meimei? Should I not be fond of you?”
“You can be, but in moderations.” Feng hugged her tight and gave her another egg. “Cute Elle, see when you are holding the egg so dear it never cracks,”
Elle glanced at the egg and then at her. “Then I shall be willing to share you with them,”
“That’s good,” Feng sighed. ‘Finally, I’ve talked some sense into her.’ she glanced at the boys. “As for you two, what you did just now was risky,”
“We wanted to protect you from bad man,” Ethan shouted in anger.
“I know, but he is a big bad man. If he wanted to, he could have hurt you very badly,”
“But he touched you!!” Aiden shouted as well.
“So? I punched him. Since I am a little taller, I will be able to deal with him much better. Next time I don’t want you both to throw yourself in danger,”
“No!! We will always protect you!! Always!!” Ethan and Aiden shouted simultaneously.
Even little Elle chimed in. “yes, I will protect you too. I will bite him as well.”
Feng looked at their determined faces and sighed loudly. ‘Kids are hard to raise.... but... it’s so rewarding,’ she thought as the three kids happily chatted with each other.
