40 Chapter 40: Is everything prepared?

Strangely, the butler seemed unperturbed, his eyes filled with an unexpected sense of relief.

Amidst the chaos, the surnames Zhang and Wu echoed through the battle, indicating an alliance against the Carey family.

Satisfied with his recollection, Sam breathed a sigh of relief.

He had managed to capture the main details of his dream, ensuring that they wouldn't slip away like fragments of a fading memory.

But just as he thought he had grasped the full extent of his dream, a sharp pain pierced his mind.

Clutching his head, Sam groaned in agony and murmured, "Oh man! What the hell is happening with me?"

Memories flooded his consciousness, overwhelming and yet unignorable.

Five minutes later, Sam rose from the ground, his clothes drenched in sweat.

Examining the memories that had emerged amidst the searing pain, an indescribable expression crossed his face.

"I haven't fully regained all the memories from 'Return as Strongest Novel,' but fragments remain," he murmured, the weight of his realization sinking in.

These memories were undeniable evidence, entangled with the excruciating pain, representing a side story from the 'Return as Strongest Player' novel.

Determined to piece together the puzzle, Sam retrieved his notebook, ready to transcribe the contents of these fragmented memories onto its pages.

In the novel, 'Return as Strongest Player,' the Carey family, the very family that had been at the center of his dream, did not exist in Province Xth.

The Wu family, the heroine's family, did exist but had suffered a tarnished reputation due to their connection with the downfall of the Carey family.

The Zhang family, on the other hand, were portrayed as antagonists in the first volume of the novel.

With every revelation, Sam's understanding deepened.

He realized that the world of the novel and the reality he now found himself in were vastly different.

The novel provided only glimpses into the lives of the main characters, leaving out crucial details about side characters and hidden truths.

However, Sam refused to let his emotions sway him.

He knew that he needed to summarize the details from both his dream and the novel's memories in order to uncover the truth.

Piece by piece, the puzzle began to take shape, revealing a disturbing connection between the destruction of the Carey family and the impending fate of the butler, intertwining with the Wu and Zhang families.

A surge of unnamed anger welled up within Sam as he contemplated the thought of someone harming his butler who has been living with him childhood or emotionally connected.

Yet, he quickly composed himself, understanding that his priority was to gather all the information he could to save his uncle and the other workers.

With renewed determination, Sam set out to refine his knowledge, fully aware that it held the key to protecting those he held dear.

The pieces were slowly falling into place, and Sam vowed to leave no stone unturned on his decision for the truth to save his family.

As he meticulously examined each clue, a sense of urgency consumed him.

The fate of his uncle and the family rested on his shoulders.

Sam's mind raced, connecting the dots and drawing conclusions based on the fragmented memories and the hidden truths within the novel.

Seconds turned into minutes as Sam delved deeper into the intricate web of secrets.

Despite the overwhelming complexity due to gaining the dream's memories and novel's memories which were confusing as which one is going to remain true, he still remained steadfast, fueled by a burning determination and a flicker of hope to save his uncle.

Soon, with each passing moment, Sam's understanding expanded, and he saw the bigger picture taking shape in his mind.

As time swiftly slipped away, barely noticeable, the distant melody of birdsong began to permeate the air, gently interrupting his deep concentration.

Startled from his reverie, he shifted his gaze towards the horizon, where the Sun valiantly struggled to emerge from the clutches of darkness, poised to illuminate the vast expanse of the cerulean sky.

A whisper escaped his lips, laden with a sense of resignation, "Indeed, time does fly with relentless swiftness."

Emerging from the confines of his thoughts, he wearily rose from his seat and made his way to the bathroom, seeking solace in a cold shower that would alleviate the accumulated fatigue brought on by his ceaseless contemplation.

The frigid water cascaded over his weary form, rejuvenating his exhausted body and awakening his senses.

Once refreshed, he adorned himself in the attire befitting his abode, his mind already fixated on the imminent danger that still lurked in the shadows, a constant threat posed by the Wu and Zhang families.

He smiled and murmured, "Gold, Diablo.." and soon 10 skeletons appeared.

As the skeletal figures emerged from the ethereal realm of the undead, they immediately dropped to one knee and spoke in perfect unison, "Master."

Observing this sight, I calmly uttered, "Rise," prompting all the skeletons to stand tall in my presence.

Then, with a commanding tone, I issued my next order, "Transmute yourselves into human semblance."

As their bony figures morphed into flesh and blood, I surveyed the newly transformed beings before me. "Your duty," I stated firmly, "is to inform me of every detail."

In unison, the skeletons replied, their voices now human, "Yes, Master."

"Very well," I continued, "Go and take up residence in the building adjacent to the villa."

I had already instructed the butler to construct a suitable place for the skeletons to reside, and now it stood ready, hidden from prying eyes.

With the elite skeletons settled, a sense of relief washed over me.

I turned my focus towards preparing for my upcoming school trip, a brief respite from the shadows that constantly loomed over my existence.

Within the opulent walls of the Zhang villa, Zhang Zim and Zhang Zun, along with the butler, gathered. Zhang Zim, his expression sly, addressed the butler, "Is everything prepared?"

Both Zhang Zun and the butler turned their attention to the question, nodding in agreement.
