Chapter 36: Chapter 36: Combat Mirror

Sam slapped himself on the forehead and said, "Of course, why didn't I think of that? I must have been too busy," but soon his smile broadened, and thought, "But what if I could copy that talent?"

Zhou Wen, who was watching from the side, was confused by Sam's smile.

"Master, copying that talent would put a strain on your soul," 'Copy Consciousness' replied. "I am still researching a solution to this issue."

Sam's face turned pale upon hearing this but was relieved when 'Copy Consciousness' reassured him, "Master, I cannot copy that talent, but I have already stored all the data in my consciousness. As soon as I find a solution, I will copy all of those talents."

Feeling a glimmer of hope, Sam's thoughts returned to the 'Combat Mirror.'

"Neo, give me the details of the 'Combat Mirror,'" he requested as he put down the object in inventory and soon took out.

[Ok, host.]

Combat Mirror [S] [Unique]

- An entity that has gained consciousness.

- It has the ability to create a simulation of your abilities or any combat technique up to 'S' grade or one rank higher, 'SS,' but the simulation may be incomplete.

Grade: S

[Description: It can be a valuable training tool alongside combat training in chaotic situations.]

....

Zhou Wen pov

Upon Sam's request, he handed over the 'Combat Mirror', a glistening object.

As Sam took hold of the mirror, he became engrossed in deep thought, muttering to himself.

Observing from the sidelines, Zhou Wen's brow furrowed as he noticed the young master once again becoming absorbed in his own world.

Lost in thought, Zhou Wen's attention was suddenly drawn to a ringing sound emanating from his workout attire.

A melodic ringtone echoed through the air, catching his attention.

"Whose call could this be?" he muttered to himself, glancing at the caller ID displayed on his phone.

Without hesitation, he swiftly answered the call.

"Call connected," the voice on the other end announced.

"Zhou Wen, listen carefully," a serious voice commanded, instantly putting Zhou Wen on high alert.

"Yes, please tell me if there is something wrong," he responded, his tone matching the seriousness of the situation.

"Alright, you must take proper care of the villa and conduct a thorough security inspection," the voice continued, its urgency palpable.

Zhou Wen's confusion grew as he listened intently. "Is someone attempting to infiltrate the villa?" he inquired, hoping for clarification.

"Not at this moment, but we must always remain cautious. There are certain families that may attempt to harm us," the voice explained, shedding light on the gravity of the situation.

"Understood. You can count on me to ensure the safety of the villa. I will conduct a secret inspection soon," Zhou Wen assured, his voice filled with determination.

"Very well," came the response. "Call disconnected."

After concluding the conversation with the butler, Zhou Wen turned his attention back to Sam and asked, "Young master, have you examined the object?"

Lost in his own thoughts once more, Sam snapped back to reality upon hearing Zhou Wen's voice.

"Yes, I have checked it," he replied absentmindedly, extending his hand with the 'Combat Mirror'.

"Very well, young master," Zhou Wen acknowledged, accepting the 'Combat Mirror' from Sam.

He then proceeded to inform Sam about the conversation he had just had with the butler, revealing the intricate details of the Province Xth situation.

Sam's brow furrowed upon hearing this complex revelation about the state of affairs in Province Xth.

Confusion evident in his voice, he questioned, "Shouldn't the Federation be aware of this? Isn't it their duty to ensure the safety of all families?"

Zhou Wen smiled at the young master's innocence and replied, "Young master, everything in this world revolves around self-interest. The Federation's interest could be money or something else entirely, who knows?"

Understanding dawned on Sam's face, although not completely. In his own words, he responded, "Perhaps a high-ranking member of the Federation has defected."

"Indeed, young master. I shall attend to my duties now," Zhou Wen affirmed, making his way towards his work.

As Zhou Wen departed, Sam contemplated for a moment before murmuring to himself, "After a refreshing bath, let's go conquer some dungeon towers."
