Elizabeth looked surprised to see one of the Lee Family members appear before her. She had not expected this situation to occur.

"Can I join?" asked Klaus once again.

"Ah, yes. Please have a seat. I didn't expect the grandson of a conglomerate to join us." David sounded awkward.

Klaus gently touched Alexa's shoulder, telling her to move so he could sit down. At that moment, the nervous feeling that was bothering her chest disappeared. Alexa became normal again. But the confusion was still written all over her face.

"Klaus? Why—"

"I want to join you for lunch," Klaus said. A big smile bloomed on his face.

Alexa nodded.

Suddenly, David felt his power unable to reach Alexa. He tried releasing pheromones over and over again, but it didn't affect Alexa, as if there was an invisible wall surrounding the bespectacled woman. It had never happened before. His eyes rolled at Klaus with a suspicious gaze.

At the same time, Klaus smiled broadly, pretending not to know what David was thinking. In fact, he was the one who dispelled the pheromones that affected Alexa.

"These bastards are trying to take advantage of Alexa. How dare they," Klaus thought.

When he came downstairs for lunch, he saw Alexa acting strangely with her guests. She was an indifferent and intelligent woman. Blushing and nervousness were not the traits of the CEO he knew. She would not easily fall for a man's seductions even.

Of course, suspicion arose in Klaus' mind. Secretly, he followed them to the restaurant. Klaus eavesdropped on their conversations from waiting for the food to arrive. Seeing Alexa's behavior getting stranger, he knew that she was under the influence of magic.

And he was right; David was trying to control Alexa with pheromones.

Elizabeth raised her hand, calling out to the waiter. "Would you like something to eat, Mr. Klaus? I'll treat you."

"Sure." Klaus pursed his lips. "I feel I want to eat Carbonara."

The atmosphere became awkward with Klaus' presence. Silence enveloped them for a while. Elizabeth and David had not expected anyone to interfere with their plans.

However, they hadn't given up on the original plan. David still tried to steal the CEO's heart.

"You know, yesterday I went to Japan to attend a bonsai festival. Do you know what bonsai is?"

"I'm not interested in bonsai. I find it boring to wait decades to see a crooked plant." Alexa cut David off before he could finish his sentence.

David was at a loss, as he got a flat-out refusal before he talked about the subject.

Still, He made the small talk a few times to impress Alexa or lure her with his charms, but Alexa's blunt attitude made it difficult for David to flirt with her. Their conversation became tough since Alexa was free from the effects of pheromones.

Klaus just enjoyed his meal as he was no longer worried about Alexa.

On the other hand, Elizabeth was starting to run out of patience. She bit her lip as her knees shook, watching her subordinate desperately wooing Alexa. Unable to stand David's actions that humiliated himself, Elizabeth placed the fork and knife onto the plate with such force that the sound of the impact silenced David. Even it surprised Alexa.

But Klaus grinned silently.

"My stomach is already full from your ramblings, David. I guess yours is full, too," Elizabeth said. She put a smile on her face, but her tone sounded sarcastic.

"Yes, ma'am." David bowed his head.

Not only David but Alexa also caught the sarcasm. Reading the atmosphere surrounding them, she felt something strange about this lunch.

Elizabeth crossed her arms. The friendly expression on her face was gone and replaced with a sharp gaze in her eyes.

"We have talked about many things. It is time we discussed why we are gathered at this table." A stern tone came out of the blonde woman's mouth.

The muscles in Alexa's face tensed. "Of course." freew(e)bnovel.(c)om

Now, Klaus seemed serious.

Elizabeth sucked in a breath. "As you know, Oathkeeper is a guild engaged in trade. We make deals with large companies and guilds in this country. Apart from that, we also make large investments."

"Can you get to the point?" Alexa replied. f(r)eewebnovel.com

Elizabeth snorted. She couldn't believe what she had just heard. "I want to acquire Mors Industries."

Alexa raised her eyebrows in shock. She thought the blonde woman was about to invest in the company. But the answer she got was beyond her expectations. Glancing at Klaus, she asked for a green light to continue this discussion. Klaus nodded

"How many offers did we receive?" Alexa asked.

Elizabeth grinned. She held up a hand to David, and he handed her a paper and pen. After writing the amount on the paper, she slid it with her finger toward Alexa.

And then, Alexa was wide-eyed.

The blonde woman smirked. She made an offer of 75 billion dollars.

Who wouldn't be surprised when someone made such a large offer? Even Alexa, experienced in managing the company's financial flows, trembled to hold the paper.

Alexa cleared her throat. "I'm the CEO, but I don't own the company. This is an incredible offer. I have no authority."

Elizabeth smiled. "I know. That's why I asked you to persuade the owner."

Naturally, Alexa turned to Klaus.

Seeing the way Alexa look at Klaus, Elizabeth found that Klaus was the company's owner.

Alexa nodded, giving the paper to Klaus and advising Klaus to accept the offer. With this much money, he could create a new company without capital limitations or considering investors. It was pretty tempting.

However, Klaus had a different point of view.

"I'm not selling my company."

David was surprised as Klaus gave Elizabeth a solid answer, but his boss had expected it earlier. She could keep her composure.

"Why? It's a fantastic offer. Someone else would have accepted it. If you want to play at managing the company, don't worry. You can be the CEO of Mors Industries."

Klaus sighed. "Sometimes, you can't buy everything with money."

Elizabeth laughed. "How old are you, kid? You're very naive, but I get it. You're still green, after all. With that much money, you can buy anything in the world. You can even brag to Robert Lee. I'm sure the old man would be proud to hear that his grandson made his first 75 billion dollars."

Alexa could not help but be silent. Even though she knew Elizabeth was making fun of him, she agreed.

Meanwhile, Klaus squinted as insults were thrown in front of his face. Of course, he would not let the blonde woman do as she pleased.

"Forget your offer. I have a better idea. You can have my company but with conditions."

Changing her sitting position, Elizabeth was intrigued by his idea. "What is it?"

Klaus grinned.

Elizabeth raised her eyebrows when Klaus pulled out a coin from his pocket.

"Let's toss a coin. If you win, I'll give you all my shares in Mors Industries. You don't have to spend a dime."

Elizabeth snorted. "You want to decide the fate of your company by gambling?" She shook her head. "Fine. What if I lose?"

Klaus grinned. "I'll fuck you tonight."
