Chapter 1367 Around the World in a Day

The way to manifest new Melabilities, aka the tattoos, was simple. One just had to absorb so much Color into their melanin that their body could do nothing but give you another power.

While that was very simple for Ning, a regular person would have to live for months, if not years, without using their power to manifest the next one.

The Melability that formed through the tattoo on Ning's index finger was one where he could create a sandstorm.

The Melability on his middle finger was one where he could create a water snake that could either attack or bind someone at up to 50 meters of distance.

The Melability on his ring finger was one that allowed him to create a realistic illusion of himself.

Before the ability on his little finger could manifest, Ning had to, unfortunately, leave as it was time to go check on the people who had finally settled here.

He teleported to where they were and found that they had set up a small camp for themselves in the locations that Ning had told them to go to.

Ning went through each one of them for the next few hours, and at the end of each one he gave them a ring for the leader to wear, and told them that help would arrive soon.

They just had to wait.

There were beasts with Melabilities too in this world, but thankfully none of the locations where Ning had told them to go had any of it.

Thanks to the ring that Ning gave each of the leaders there, they would be able to communicate with the people who would go to help them soon.

It was late in the afternoon for the other side of the planet, on the thin strip of land known as Barason.

His arrival caused another set of panic, but this time he made sure to let everyone know that he was not planning on harming them.

Ning told the person who had been appointed by Indebiss to look over the land in his presence what had happened and had him pass the message to everyone. After that, he let them gather candidates to choose a new, worthy ruler on this side as well.

Ning then traveled to the Nightside and Sunside shorelines to pass along the same message.

It was annoying to have to do the same thing over and over, but the faster Ning could be done with this, the faster he could return to his mission to kill some more rogue constellations.

Ning returned to the palace around evening time in that location and finally got to just lay down and rest.

He only rested for an hour or so before Kinara came by to talk to him.

"What is it?" Ning asked the woman.

"Your Majesty," the woman quickly bowed. "The city is in a bit of a panic state. The sudden changes are making the people afraid, and I was wondering if you knew what to do in this case."

"People are afraid?" Ning asked. "Why? I killed the tyrant and gave them freedom."

"They should be thanking you for that, Your Majesty," the woman said. "But they are people who have been led by the stronger all their life. Suddenly losing that lead is making them feel as though their life might go out of control. They need to know that someone is still in control."

Ning sighed. "What do you suggest?" he asked.

"You should go around the city and show people that someone is still in charge," the woman said. "It is that, or you have to crown a new king as soon as possible so that they could take on that job."

"I'm not going to hastily make someone a king," Ning said. "I'll only choose the deserving one, and if they want it too. For now, I'll go walk the city. Let's make a show of it too. Have the soldiers prepare for it."

"Yes, Your Majesty," the woman said and walked away.

Ning looked at her leaving and smiled as he saw how hard she was working to try and become the queen. 'That woman surely has some ambitions,' he thought.

After Kinara was gone, Ning frowned as he realized that he was once more going to have to go back to work.

"Urgh! This is annoying," he said to himself and got back up to go to work.

Kinara waited for him at the front of the Palace, along with the soldiers that Ning had fought the other day to get in there. The man whose hand he had destroyed wasn't around, making Ning wonder if he was alright.

He asked the leader of the soldiers, the woman he fought, and got a shocking answer in return.

"You destroyed his fingers, so he cannot use half of his Melability again, your Majesty," the woman told him.

"What?" Ning asked. "Wait, you lose your abilities if you lose your fingers?"

The woman looked at Ning with a weird look on her face. "Yes," she said, almost unbelieving that Ning wasn't aware of that.

"Wow, losing fingers must be a crazy problem then," he said. "It doesn't work even when his fingers are regrown? Can you use healing magic?"

"Once you lose a Melability, you lose it forever," Kinara answered. "If you heal your fingers, you will have to acquire another one, and it is unlikely that it will be the same one as before."

"Wild!" Ning exclaimed and continued. Ning's presence on the street was causing a stir around the capital as people walked into the street and leaned out of windows and balconies to try and get a glimpse of him.

Ning slowly made his way to the fleet that was preparing to leave just as Ning had ordered them. Ning met up with them and gave the leaders of that expedition a chart of where they had to go and who they had to help. Once everything was prepared, he waved them all goodbye and watched as the people sailed into the sunset.
