Chapter 1264 Lesson

When the Lightning Essence made its way out of the Lightning Essence Crystal, it immediately forced its way into the lightning bolt.

Byron breathed quickly and heavily as he had been just a moment away from getting struck by lightning.

"Haha! I did it," he said before quickly bringing out an anvil and hammer that fell onto the boat.

"Are you going to hammer it here?" Ning asked.

"Yes," he said and grabbed onto the glowing lightning bolt with bluish light in it. It was neither lightning nor was it Essence at that point.

At that point, it was something in the middle, something unstable that needed form, and Byron was in the process of doing exactly that.

He pulled on the… thing and started hammering it.

Ning looked at the lightning bolt and saw it go all the way up to the sky, where it had followed the path that the arrow had left behind.

"Uhh… will the lightning not strike this and follow it down?" he asked.

Byron took a moment to look up. "Probably not," he said and went back to work.

Ning shrugged and watched him work as well.

Byron hammered away while pulling from the glowing lighting essence bolt. As he hammered and pulled, the long line of it started becoming smaller and thinner as the part at the top was pulled down by him.

Ning stared into the sky and saw the thin line still remain. 'Is it really going to be—'

Just as he was thinking that the sky crackled and a large bolt of lightning fell onto the line, following it all the way to the boat where Byron was making the sword.

Without hesitation, Ning jumped onto the Lightning Essence bolt and held onto it for a moment.

The large bolt of lightning that fell from the sky fell on him, causing a large explosive sound that reverberated, following the thunderous noise as it spread around.

Byron fell backward onto the boat in surprise and fear and looked up to see bright sparks of fire spreading all around while Ning held onto the line,

The lightning that fell on him had also charged the light that Byron was using, making it stronger.

"Wh-what?" Byron cried out, not understanding what had happened.

Ning landed on the boat and looked at his clothes. "Tsk! If only I hadn't already capped out my daily absorption," he said.

"Are you okay?" Byron quickly asked. "Are you hurt? Are you even alive?"

"Can't you see?" Ning asked.

Byron gulped. "But… but how?" he asked. He looked at Ning, unable to form a single coherent thought that could explain what had just happened.

As if to add to the confusion, Ning snapped his fingers and the clothes he wore were magically fixed.

"What is going on?" Byron asked, pleading even. "Am I dreaming? Wake me up if I'm dreaming. Please. I don't like this."

Ning chuckled. "Are you sure you're gonna let all your work be for nothing?" he asked, pointing to the Lightning Essence Bolt that still needed working on.

"Ah!" Byron shouted and quickly jumped back into work and started hammering away.

Ning looked at the sky while Byron finished what he was doing. As he did away with all the available matter-essence hybrid to work with, he was finally left with a blob of energy that just needed a bit more work.

He continued hammering for a while longer while visualizing what he wanted to make at the same time. As he reached the end, he finished crafting a white sword with a bluish hue to it.

"I… I did it," he said, happily. "I did it!"

Excitement filled the man as he showed Ning the sword. It was raining heavily and he was quite drenched, but he didn't care.

He smiled wide and big, showing the sword to Ning. "Haha! See? I told you I could do it. I did it!" he shouted.

"Congratulations," Ning said. "That looks like a nice sword."

"It is," the man said.

"Great! And do you want to celebrate it here, underneath the storm?" he asked.

"Huh?" the man looked above. "Oh, shit!"

He quickly sat down and put inside his anvil and hammer before he started rowing the boat. Ning sat down and did the same.

They quickly got out of the danger zone, flying closer to the port.

As they got close, Byron started bonding to the sword that was in his hands.

Ning continued rowing and spoke, "While you do that, can you explain in detail what you just did?"

"Huh? Oh yeah, sure," the man said. "What I did was force my Essence inside the crystal and agitate it. Normally, Essence only comes out of the Crystal when someone uses a technique to absorb it, but forcing it from the inside is unnatural and thus it resists."

"When it does cross the limit of agitation and fully breaks open, it searched for the closest thing it can inhabit," the man said. "Depending on the size of your crystal, it can inhabit something big."

"When it does that, your Essence goes inside that thing too, and it ends up turning into this hybrid as you see which you can control," the man said.

"Using a large Water Essence crystal, one could quickly fill up the giant wave as you asked. Using a Lightning Essence crystal, I did so with the lightning bolt."

"Once that is done, all that is left is to visualize and form the hybrid into what you want," the man said. "That is how you can capture something giant at once."

"I see," Ning said. "What else does this work with, other than lightning and giant wave?"

"Hmm… many things I would say," the man said. "Anything that you have to capture in a hurry could be used this way. Most common of all is usually Explosion Essence, which is really just Fire Essence and Wind Essence that works together at once."

"I see," Ning said. "Once I can convert stuff, I will give those all a try."
