Chapter 20: Beast core obtained-
Ben let out a long breath before he flew inside the waggon to consume some blood and replenish his HP.

As Ben consumed the blood inside the waggon, he felt a surge of rejuvenation flowing through his veins. His HP gradually restored itself, reaching its maximum capacity once again. Feeling revitalised, he emerged from the waggon, ready to face some more low-tier beasts to improve his level.
He can't afford to waste a single second; if there is a chance he can avoid resting, he will do so. Every moment was essential, and he needed to grow as fast as possible.
It was already past midnight, and Ben didn't have very much time left as he assumed he had to get back into the waggon before dawn. But this time, Lady Luck was on his side; as soon as Ben flew out of the waggon, something interesting caught his attention that he normally would ignore thanks to his human instincts.
"Wait, Firefly's! Hey system, what level are these creatures? Will I be able to kill them?" Ben asked, looking at the shiny yellow fireflies flying around the tree, decorating them like a natural disco light. Normally, this sight is something to behold, but for Ben, he was too serious right now to spend his time sight-seeing.
[Host, mutant fireflies are extremely fragile, low-tier beasts. But once they get attacked, their bodies will cause a miniature explosion before ending their lives. Although the explosion is quite insignificant for humans, it might lead to a critical situation for you.]
"I see. What is the time gap it takes for them to self-destruct after the attack?" Ben asked in a serious tone.
[It would normally take them a second or two before they could react.]
"That's more than enough!" Ben said in excitement, adrenaline rushing inside his veins as he launched towards the group of fireflies at full speed, equipping a beetle dagger and preparing for an attack.
This was like the best chance Ben could ever get to increase his kill count. If he manages to successfully pull off this stunt, it will mean he won't have to worry about the 100-kill quest.
With Ben's enhanced agility and reaction time, it took barely a second or two for him to fly about the top of the tree, marking his aim at the nearest firefly. He instantly took a sharp turn and launched horizontally towards the firefly at full speed.
The firefly, detecting a killing intent, instantly turned to its side to look at the enemy, but before the firefly could even have a look at his adversary, Ben's dagger-shaped leg had already passed through its waist, cutting it in half.
"Boom!" A small explosion sounded behind Ben, who had already flown a few metres away from his prey, killing it.
The explosion sent a wave of heat and sparks flying in all directions, but Ben had anticipated this. He swiftly manoeuvred away from the blast radius, avoiding any harm. As the fragments of the firefly dispersed into the air, he felt a surge of satisfaction. Another successful kill

"If there is no risk, then there are no rewards. I have to do this," Ben said with a sharp smile on his face. He was feeling fear and excitement at the same time, a feeling similar to bunji jumping. He was nervous; his brain was warning him of any fatal risk, but his heart was pumping in excitement, adrenaline coursing throughout his body.
"It has been a while since I experienced this feeling. Come at me with all you have got," Ben declared, adreanaline coursing through his veins. He looked at the wave of fireflies coming towards him, attracted by the explosion, to exact revenge for killing his kin.
"System, pour all my stat points into agility!" Ben commanded with a determined face before he launched towards the group of fireflies with the maximum speed he could fly at.
Ben had gained a total of 1.0 free stat points from the two times he levelled up. But since he was unable to decide where to put the stat points, he left the free stat points to be used in the future.

"LET'S GO!!" Ben shouted in excitement as he launched towards the bunch of fireflies at enhanced speed. The fireflies were already fast as compared to Ben's speed, but now, with his increased agility, they were just free kills in front of Ben.
"Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang!"
Continued blasting sounds followed as the bunch of fieflies launched a luminious neon-coloured liquid towards Ben.
"Too Slow!" Ben shouted, dodging each and every neon ball and closing up the distance to the nearest firefly. With its huge margin of speed, the firefly could barely see a blurry figure passing by before its body was cleanly cut in half.
"Booom!" A small, explosive sound reverberated through the air before the lifeless body of a fly faltered towards the ground.
"It's more tough to use soul drain than kiiling these things," Ben said, flying towards the falling firefly before he used his soul drain skill.

"Next target," Benm said, taking a sharp turn and flying upwards while dodging the upcoming neon balls shot from behind. And before the fireflies could mark their enemy's location, a bunch of small explosions sounded in the air as the burned bodies of fireflies kept falling from the sky.
