Chapter 13: Mutant black beetle-

[Accept Inhumanity... I agree; that's a necessary part of controlling 117. But what's the use of the second quest? ]

[From what I see, isn't it basically just drinking blood to survive?]

The resonating childish voice asked in the dark room; the voice was feeling robotic yet human at the same time. Having an enormous amount of data but still having the curiosity to explore the world

"If you see the series of quests, it's quite easy to find out, don't you think?" The calm voice responded, taking a small pause before it continued again:The purpose of this quest is to adapt to inhumanity. So that the host will not feel any emotional conflict while taking on the third quest."

[And the third quest is to kill 100 enemies, I understand.]

As Ben stood before the flattened body of the black mutant spider, he activated his Soul Drain skill. He asked the system if he could drink spider's blood too, but the system's response was a straight no, since spider blood is toxic and would kill him instead.

╔═╣Soul Drain╠═╗

With a mystical chant, a radiant energy emerged from the spider's corpse, eagerly slurped up by Ben's razor-sharp fangs. As the energy coursed through his veins, a warm sensation enveloped him, igniting a surge of power.

[Mutant spider, soul essence absorbed—low tier ]

[Exp gained: 5/30]

[Soul Essence: None]

Curiosity sparked within Ben, and he turned his gaze to the floating, translucent screen before him. "System, what's this whole soul essence thingamajig?"

[Soul essence is one of the purest sources of energy, which defines the existence of life.]

"Heh, but didn't you say that magic is the purest form of energy or something?" Ben asked confused, he might be stupid sometimes but he wasn't dumb enough to forget any of the system's wisdom.

Soul essence is the only pure form of magic left in this universe. Other forms are directly or indirectly used, i.e., impure.]

"I am getting a little confused here." Ben frowned, looking at the system explanation. Either his mosquito body was affecting his brain or his English was getting weaker, but he couldn't understand what a single word system was saying. "Just what is the difference between pure magic and soul essence?"

[I don't know]

"The hell!! I thought you were supposed to be an all-knowing system! You seriously don't know?"

[No, I don't know either.]

"Now what do you don't know?"

[I don't know what I don't know.]

"Well, yeah, that makes sense. I am just dumb." Ben sighed. He looked at the status screen once more before he asked. "Why does it say I didn't get any soul essence?"

[Because, host, you weren't able to redirect the energy into crafting a weapon or equipment. The energy that cannot be modified into equipment will be used as Exp points for a way to grow. Only.]

"Wait, wait, wait, you mean to say I can make a weapon or equipment with my soul essence? Like a RPG game, I will get a drop item if I kill a beast."Ben asked; it was very impossible for him to assume this was possible. "How do I make that kind of weapon? "Are there any steps to follow?"

[The system can modify the soul essence to convert it into weapons and equipment. This solely depends on the luck factor and system evolution. As a base version, there are 1/5 chances to make a successful weapon.]

Ben scratched his chin, pondering. "So, like, everyone here has a soul essence, right? Can they also make a weapon out of it?"

[Every living being has a soul essence; it's the energy that writes your presence in the omniverse. However, making an item is a skill only limited to me, and ▓▓▓▓ ]

"Whoa, that's creepy cool! I never expected the system to be this badass," Ben chuckled. With how much time he spent with the system, he didn't have to take a guess that the name in the black box is the same person who created this system and gave Ben a chance to live.

Ben was thankful to the entity for saving him from the void, but at the same time, he was worried. Reincarnating as a mosquito and completing quests are nothing normal; there must be a purpose behind all this humblyness. And so, then what?

The only thing Ben could do was complete the quests one by one and follow the path given to him. This was the least he could do to pay back whoever helped him in the nullvoid, for whatever reason.

Although there were quite a lot of living beasts in the forest, Ben wasn't so confident that he would even land a scratch on any of them.

"Oh, by the way, my wise and almighty System, can you shed some light on this 'Beast Tier' thingy? And what's up with tiers anyway?" Ben inquired, his eyes scanning for weak creatures to kill.

[Host, In this world, beasts are classified based on their strength, which we call tiers. Humans have confirmed these tiers so far:

1.Low-tier beast

Normal Tier Beast

Advanced Tier Beast

Intermidiate Tier Beast

King Tier Beast

Dragon Tier Beast

Supreme Tier Beasts

Some claim to have encountered even mightier beasts, but whether it's truth or legend, nobody knows for sure.]

"What about you? Do you know if a stronger beast exists or not?" Ben poundered, looking through beast tier grades.

[Yes they do, they are called ▓▓▓ Tier Beasts.]
